I have recently attempted to update my OPO and it failed in some way. I have gotten it back to normal through downgrading and preforming a factory reset, but I have had troubles with my root. I was first having an issue where it was saying the superSU binary was not installed, despite me flashing the zip. I have gotten it to now when I try to open superSU it goes to a black screen. Is their any way to fix this that does not resort to a factory reset, I am able to do it just I don't to have to do it again.

hi all..
I need guidance..
Ok.. the story was, my Transformer was rooted, running on Prime firmware.
Recently i want to un-root, prior to update to 3.2. So, i followed this guide >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154947.
Ok, the guide has 3 steps,
1. Install repacked firmware
2. Install recovery
3. Install stock firmware downloaded from Asus website
The thing is, after i done step 2, it failed in step 3! I dunno why, but it failed to flash the stock update fie. The "warning triangle" appear while flashing, it stucked there, so ihave to force reboot using the power button. It managed to boot, a message appear "update failed, the device was restored to previous firmware".
So, i guess my device was stucked in the "repacked" firmware. CWM recovery gone, but SU app remains. The device still running, but seems buggy.. i tried to reinstall the stock update several times, but stil failed. I gaved up for the day
Then, just now,i connected it to a wifi. Suddenly the device starts to download 3.2 update. I let it finished. Then, i install it. It works! Updates done. My device is on 3.2 now.
BUT, SU app is still there!
Now im not sure if im really on stock firmware 3.2 or not.
How to remove the SU app?
how to do a clean/complete restore to stock firmware?
Early this morning I got an OTA update for my device. I downloaded the thing and proceeded to install, but I couldn't get through it. The moto g rebooted to CWM and asked me to "install a unknown zip" or something like that. I clicked yes, the installation began but didn't finish. After that, cwm says that root may be lost and if I want to restore root. I selected Yes, the device reboots but then proceeds to reboot again after a couple of minutes. This happened 3 or 4 times, then I wiped cache and dalvik, which seems to have solved the reboots. The thing is, I can't install the update.
Maybe it is because I have Xposed installed? (It did say the error with installation had something to do with the framewaork). Maybe all I have to do is remove xposed, update and reinstall, but I haven't had the time to do so. Any ideas?
You'll probably have to go to stock recovery to take the update
Sent from my Moto G
so yesterday, I decided to root my tablet. Everything was working nicely after I rooted and downloaded clockwork mod. The whole problem started when I used an app called quick boot, and I booted into recovery mode. As it was rebooting, it asked for permissions(I accepted obviously), and I haven't been able to get past the logo screen ever since. I tried wiping everything, but it still doesn't work. Any solution to this?
Reflash stock firmware with odin should probably work.
I managed to fix it by using the adb sideload thing in twrp.
Hi,
my Pixel is driving me crazy. It freezes randomly for a few seconds, sometimes it just continues after and sometimes the app i am in wants to force close or wait. It does not matter which app, it happens in every app, on the homescreen, on widgets or in the settings.
It all started with flashing 7.1.2 Factory.img
I was still on 7.1.1 and lost root cause of the su update, so i decided to make a clean fresh install of 7.1.2 So i flashed the img, flashed twrp and rooted with super su (dont remember which version) and the freezes started.
I thought maybe someting went wrong, so wiped in twrp and flashed su again. Then i had bootloops where sometimes a weird screen with something about ramdump showed up.
I could not boot into the recovery so i flashed the factory img again and tried to root with the boot to root img. --> Bootloop with ramdump screen.
Flashed factory img again and nothing else, but still had those freezes. Flashed factory img again rooted with last su --> still freezes.
Today i flashed the newest factory img with the Pixel freeze fix (without wipe) but i still have the freezes.
I have no idea what i can try to fix this
Please help me
contact google support. thats your best chance.. for sure you still have warranty..
I thought the June update was supposed to fix this issue.
I had the exact same issue and ee sent out for repair. The repair centre sent me a new phone back instead.

I used the guide above, TWRP booted fine, then installed the SuperSU zip file and rebooted. That got me to a black "Verification failed" screen. I rebooted to TWRP and in the log I noticed that it couldn't mount /data. So I googled it and followed this guide:

Repairing data threw an error. I still went ahead and changed the partition to exFat and it said it was done but it kept loading and eventually threw an "e: recv error on uevent". So I rebooted TWRP and it didn't start at all anymore. It doesnt get past the first twrp screen, it doesnt get to the swipe right part.
Reinstalling TWRP didnt work. I've tried other older versions as well, same problem.

Install TWRP again, then any rom which is already rooted with magisk. Or install TWRP then a Rom and root after with magisk, also you don't have to install TWRP and root at the same time.
Ignore the "recv error" it means nothing, just a quirk of TWRP sometimes. Don't bother with Supersu, magisk works better.
try this TWRP: https://mega.nz/#!tMVCBYrB!Bcvd2tGuvvRfpCPdWvpGwy53f25Oe5qe_zCOSLX_-rA

Can you still get into download mode? If so try a full odin flash of stock firmware.
odin flash back to stockrom
then use this tutorial :

it worked perfect for me and also has decryption module
