Should you ever face any issues, provide logs (use Google to find out how to gather those). I also need to know what build you're on - hence, you should mention the build number (or at least a date).

Key Notes
Flashlight toggle works perfectly. Yay!!
Battery charging LED too works, but expecting CM to break it, again.
If you are going to install gapps, flash it just after flashing CM13. I used pico opengapps, flashed after CM13 booted up, got frequent Setup Wizard and GPServices error. Right then, did a factory reset. Working.

Guys, let's not forget that is a development thread.

It seems like the majority of users with bricked devices have partitioned SD cards. While I can't guarantee anything, this seems to be the only possible reason at the moment. I have been testing CM13 on my C2105 for weeks, but never had that issue. And no, it's not the model number - the differences between C2104 and C2105 are rather minimal and the ROM has been confirmed working on both variants anyway.
Nevertheless, I've locked the thread and removed the download link for now, but just for the future: Don't re-partition your SD cards - in case you have already done so, format your storage before flashing this ROM! Xperia L doesn't have storage galore and the apps get bigger and bigger, I know. But if you aren't satisfied with that you better buy a new device.
Anyway, I'm sorry for the hard bricks.
EDIT: Those who have ended up with hardbricks have probably played around with the new "adoptable storage" feature, it can destroy the emmc.

Thread cleaned per OPs request.

A new build (ALPHA2) is up. Everything should be working, except for bugs mentioned in the second post - although I have been testing the build myself (as usual), I'd appreciate useful feedback. Enjoy, thread reopened...

I might give it a try later today when I get home.
Oh, and what is this "adoptable storage" feature, and how do I know if I have it enabled? I'm afraid of a permabrick since I recently bought this device and I won't be able to buy a new one if something goes wrong...
Edit: Can this be installed with the TWRP from corphish's app?

I installed Alpha 2 (19/12 Build)....
And All Basic Features and My Favorites Apps Are Working Good...
I'm feeling that CM13 is very smooth and fast...
No problem in Power off and reboot to... :highfive:
I'm waiting for Camera Fix... :fingers-crossed:
Thank You So Much.... :good:

Huge improvement

My review: Flashed it via TWRP and it supports f2fs too... (System was in ext4 though) Boot time was less compared to LP... And yeah everything's great. It's butter smooth. No lags or what so ever! Battery backup is good too... But the only thing I noticed was the network type remains on 3g no matter what i do. Rest all is fine. Fm radio is missing though. Looking forward for camera fix too. Overall a splendid ROM for alpha stage. Also no hardbricks or anything... Rebooted thrice till now and no issues. Great Work.
(Pardon me if i posted in wrong place..... I'm noob in XDA)

Well. the browser force closed for me thrice right after clicking the 'download' button..

The issue is in the browser app itself. Found this on cyanogen forums: http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/...ild-in-browser-crash-when-downloads-anything/
EDIT: If you mean the issue in the ROM

Woohoo)) thank you :good:

I tried the Alpha 2 and it was pretty good for an alpha.. Jesus, I was VERY worried during the install, even of the tiniest error.
When it finished I was pretty ****ing relieved that I didn't experience a brick.
The alpha was 'stable'. I mean, things didn't force-close for me constantly, which was the experience for me with other alphas. I can't wait till the camera gets fixed.

Installation
First time installing CyanogenMod 9 to your Htc Explorer/Pico, or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery
- Copy GApps and CM9 ZIPs to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM9 zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Reboot
- Don't restore data using Titanium Backup! they might cause FC's
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9:
- Copy CM9 ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM9 zip from SDCard
- Reboot

Its based on the Android 4.x aosp launcher with additions by the Cyanogen Mod Team and the android community

Say, for example, you've got Apps backed up from your previous ROM. Of course it's going to cause problems. Happened with me on even my Nexus.
Edit : I am guessing the DATA backup is what causes the problems. Has the OP tried backing up only the app and not the data?
I think backups of games should work.. Thats what I want restored because they have HUGE sd data (hd games). Apps dont really matter as I didn't have many and they have a small size.
Does the problem occur because of change from GB to ICS? Compatibility Probs?
here is a detailed tutorial for cm7..will be uploading screenshots and mediafire links soon

How to use mass storage?
when i conncet explorer to my pc,it doesn't detect my sd card.what should i do?
i tried the MTP option but nothing is happening.
Also,i am not complaining but WIFI is very important....in my case more important than network.
i don't call much,so please wifi is the no 1 need now and he mass storage.
Also forgot, the audio sound is very low.
Anyway VERY VERY GOOD WORK TO Sakindia123 and all others
It's so smooth man

What?! I downloaded the first release... 5 mins later, I downloaded build 5 and almost an hour or two later, A new version? Do you think you could make a zip that only fixes these issues. Will save those who already have the ROM installed to download another 100mb.
Thanks for the quick fixes, btw.
Keep it up. :good:

"Can the devs please tell me how to make wifi to work in CM9? I mean, I am good with programming and adding modules and I have a lot of spare time so I can probably help. Any leads where to start? Is it the kernel?"
Okay so wifi is working? Finally. Wifi is important so at least I can work on further tweaks Can you upload that tonight because I'll be off to university tomorrow and I will only have access to my phone so Wifi is important haha!

You are correct in that Sony will be releasing new binaries for camera and this is indeed what we are using for PA on Sony. However this work will take time, but we will in the end have Nexus like support for Sony devices.

That's what we are waiting for, Nexus like support :highfive:
However due to that nasty reversed fish-eye people just gave up, since Sony didn't release proper binaries and blobs. Lets see if that gets fixed with those releases.
Yeah. Making the camera work properly seems to be the biggest difficulty in developing for the Z3C. I will test every build and give feedback. Thanks!
@tomgus1 thanks for the rom !!

@snaky90 Can't remember where I saw it. Only found this old post. Sorry. I will look into it again.
I have a lot of problems with this rom! Sometimes I have lag and my phone has randoms reboots. The camera worked at the first time with a very bad quality. Now I can not acces to the camera because I got a error code.

Hi, for the reboots etc this is a kernel issue. Currently we are using the 1.2.2 branch from sonyxperiadev which has an issue with vidc/iommu. This is fixed in the 1.3.3 branch but currently Camera is not yet supported. Once support is added we will move over. I can confirm that it is fixed as I am currently running from that branch at the sacrifice of no camera.
For your current camera issue please try a reboot or going into recovery and wiping dalvik/cache and trying again. Had this happen once and a reboot fixed it.
We are using Sony Open Devices repositories for all Sony Devices as seen in our dependency files.

More than I'd like but Sony has some cross-overs with Nexus which causes incompatibility.
As reported on G+ here a short sum-up after a week of usage PA on z3c.
Installation broken
Installation expects the getprop("ro.product.device") to be "aries", but mine was z3c, therefore failing. Had to edit the META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script to get it working (exchange "aries" with "z3c").
Tim: Fixed for next release.
Voice Calling volume not changable (very loud)
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+GeorgGrabler/posts/FY9xZZuHMde
Tim: No fix yet.
Voice calling crashes most of the time (beeping or no sound at all), rebooting / locking up the phone (huge issue, makes the ROM unusable for me now)
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+GeorgGrabler/posts/GF2Eac9xtcn
Tim: Fixed next release.
NFC broken
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+GeorgGrabler/posts/iejmnYxSDkh
Tim: Can't reproduce.
=> Got a log of me because he can't reproduce it. Maybe that will help (does not happen if you have a USB attached).
Log at: http://pastebin.com/brZiHsky
Fast Charge not working
https://plus.google.com/+GeorgGrabler/posts/7kKjXJDKQB7
Tim: Will never work, not part of Sony AOSP.
=> Sad, but ok .
Camera issues
Well known, we'll have to see how the open drivers get along over time. They got better in the past, but still there are issues.
I sometimes even get "could not connect to camera" after making a picture.
Can't use the rom for production until the calling issue is solved.

bad news: My recovery was deleted by aospa
recovery isn't touched by aospa. You can't use the standard adb commands to get to recovery though, you have to use the "hardware method".
If your recovery is really gone, just re-flash it, that's not a big issue.
---------- Post added at 12:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:41 AM ----------
Just wanted to add: AOSPA team and Tim - great work there. It looks like we could get a really usable rom some time soon (though, the volume highness will still be an annoyance if it can't be fixed ).
---------- Post added at 01:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ----------
Last but not least, thanks PA team for all the work and effort. I may not be able to use the ROM yet, even though, I'd love to. You have been and are doing great work, and I hope you'll manage to bring us a good AOSP(A) image some day (rather sooner than later if you ask me ).
Don't take my reports and disappointment as a grain of salt but constructive feedback.

@tomgus1 : Calling volume sound had already been a problem in CM12.1 sometime in 2015. Was solved then. Maybe you can find some useful infos over CM JIRA:
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/NIGHTLIES-930?jql=status = Closed AND text ~ "z3"

the new version 6.0.3 is already working with the camera?
I found a little time on the site and the AOSP rom has a new version 6.0.3, someone already tested the camera is working?
http://get.aospa.co/official/aries
Camera is working, but still the same bad quality. We have to wait for the opensource drivers to get better. Sony is working on this, but it's still a long road ahead as it seems.
Lock-Ups have been fixed, the voice issue (speakers / loud uncontrollable voice level during calls) isn't (yet).

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device..

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github Repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. The following is a useful format to follow.

First!
Nice one @doriandiaconu Will get testing today!
In call volume is fixed and other user experiences echo
video recording isn't functional but preview works
Also i noticed in your aries tree that you still have egl.cfg which is deprecated now
Thanks!
It seems I misplaced the thread. I'll ask one of the admins to move it.
am i correct in assuming that you will get the fisheye effect on the camera with this?
downloading right now - will give it a try and report...
@doriandiaconu OK here is my first impression:
The ROM starts without probs - i even don't have to adjust the updater script :good:
Cam starts without forceclosing - but this could be not valid for the whole time - but for now it works - the foto i have taken has still little problems with autofocus - but for now not bad
* Equalizer for Music seems not to work - there is no difference in sound while applying different presets.
* Though weather for statusbar could be selected there is no weather to be seen - the same could be said for weather on the lockscreen simply not there - i installed Yahoo CM weather Provider - but the service couldn't even accept a given location ???
* System sounds could not be adjusted - they are very loud for now - but maybe there is a hidden feature to adjust...
* NFC could not be activated - the field is insensitiv
THX for this build
Update:
Weather seems to work now - maybe some time was needed for an update - on Lockscreen Weather could be seen, but Music on lockscreen has to be deactivated

My bad & thanks for the info.
Maybe it is now time for the common github creation to keep all of this clean. Will see if I can do this today.
Here is z3 not working list.
Bluetooth is fixed, then break again, etc... Other meaning: Under development
Another point are deep_sleep, we are working on it but will take time.
CC: @doriandiaconu
P.S. I came from z3 and don't own z3c so only can help on basics.
Thank you for the intervention @nailyk
Will edit OP when I get home and hopefully will fix some stuff in the next days.
EDIT: can someone make a list with what it's not working? It seems some of the things took some time to settle @Rhonin86 @mcgi5sr2
Never mind .....
i think tomorrow afternoon / evening i will find some time to proceed further tests and create a list - any wishes concerning the format of the list ?
Google Doc / Excel sheet / a simple post ...
Your wish is my demand
Cheers

It's so bad that we will not get a proper working aosp or cm rom. I'm so pissed on sony about this, probably will not buy any sony device just because of this reason.
Delete
Truth is we could get a good working camera but this implies a lot of knowledge that i don't have and a lot of time.
Sony aren't at fault for this. Look at Samsung. Because of the Exynos CPU and the knox partition they don't even hope for a CM/AOSP project, either on the S7 or the S6.
@Rhonin86 I don't mind it either way

People know there will be no custom aosp/cm rom working on exynos chipset before buying samsung phones. I bought this phone with high expectations, but regretted.

On a long term, there will be development for the shinano devices. Now it's just the beginning and we are few that are working. But there's still hope. CM12.1 was good, CM13 was hardly workable because of the 3.4 kernel. Devs didn't like that and left. Now they have switched to the 3.10 kernel again and CM14.1 is less buggy than CM13.
I think I managed to fix the NFC issue. Camera will get better once the new blobs will be released. Things will get OK. But only in due time and with a lot of work.
why is fish eye so present in this device? I got that in every rom (stock even when in 4k without steadyshot)... I came to this device from xperiaZ thinking camera will rock, and now I can't even use cm/aosp cause camera is so important to me
Edit: sorry for partially off-topic :3
I am getting error 7 when installing in recovery, please help
I also got error 7 flashing this in twrp 3+ but flashed this version last week successfully. Might have to change script can't remember if i had to or not. Good luck. I'm going to keep trying this. Cant post link new user but bing "sony aries cm14.1" choose androidbiits how to install nougat 7.1 on sony z3c. The link is good.
Take out underscores and link is to rom.
ps://androidfilehost. ______-com./?______fid=385035244224400853
For people with error 7 you can just remove the first line of the install script in the zip.
For comments on the camera, to be honest no one cares what you think here. If you want to vent go to the official sony forum, the people on XDA are working with what we have. This is a development thread for CM-14.1 if you don't have anything to add about the ROM ie logcats dmesg etc or bug reports then please don't post.
https://github.com/mcgi5sr2/device_sony_aries is the device tree i used for some early builds. It was forked from latest 7.1 branch of the sonyxperiadev repos.
hey, thanks for ur work. is great. i want to ask if is possible to apply any theme. theme engine is not yet implemented, so exist another alternative?

What works:
Boot
Touchscreen
Sensors (same bugs as in MM)
ADB, MTP
Vibration
Sound
Camera
RIL
SD mounting
WiFi
Deep Sleep
What's not working:
Bluetooth
GPS (or unstable - GPS HAL is just copied from Xperia Arc S)
720p video recording
Adaptable storage
Mobile Data
What's working, but needs some improvements:
Sensors
Camera (for 720p recording - use Footej Camera)
Camera Preview - wrong orientation sometimes
Memory management - LMK is not working as it should (kernel needs to be updated to nougat)
Recents button needs to be configured manually in settings (buttons tab)
'Bluetooth sharing' crashing at boot - to get rid of that annoying message:
go to settings > enable developer options > open dev opt > wait a second > click mute
How to install
Same as in MM, but...
If you come from latest MM beta (with block based OTA fix) - Wipe SYSTEM, CACHE, DALVIK CACHE
(if installation stops in half - flash MM from 10.05.2018, then wipe everything again and flash nougat - I don't know how, but it's somehow working)
If you come from earlier version - just wipe SYSTEM, CACHE, DALVIK CACHE
If you come from Lollipop... You can try leave data partition from LP, but probably it'll not work (bootloop)
If you come from KK, JB - Wipe everything

Does that mean, zRAM is - generally spoken - without function or is there still any benefit running that way?

a bit faster random access. Even if LZ4 is fast - it still needs to be decompressed. 368MB of zRAM is enough to disable compression anyway.
This rom is EOL. I'm working about 10 days on Slim7 - after some benchmarks I'm shocked - 1,2k more points in antutu compared to LOS
The Mobile data still not working though.

It's faster, but due to worse memory management every app needs to be running in swap, so... practically slower
Probably GCC Os flag will solve this problem. I'll test that today and will give some benchmarks results.
EDIT: Changes in RIL.java between MM and N are not that big. It's funny how one stupid change can break mobile data connection.
Code:
rr.mParcel.writeString(Integer.toString(radioTechnology [COLOR="Red"]+ 2[/COLOR]));
'+2' is already set in this commit
Not tested, but it may work
Will you open a new thread for Slim7 or will you post it in here..???
btw: THANKS a lot, for still developing.
Sadly less people are interested in a new / latest & functional ROM it seems.
PS: Yalp Store instant crashed in the latest LOS 14.1 ROM (B2) after fresh install, but I guess that's obsolete now, because of working on Slim7.

Sadly, all the device-specific knowledge retired with the former devs. I wished, someone could make a (little) comeback and give a helping hand here and there.
But it must be said, that the state of Slim6 is a great success and I really appreciate your ongoing work here.
Bluetooth is working

Not working - same as in MM
Bugs - Identical as in MM
Bluetooth, LMK, Adoptable storage are working.

I'm wondering, if system's general memory footprint might be too much of a challenge.
Are there still options to optimize, like throw out non vital stuff and/or substitute sysapps with other lightweight FOSS versions?

ROM INFO
This is unofficial source-built LineageOS 11 aka CM11 for Motorola Atrix 2 (edison). Build is identical to CM11 builds by @alteredlikeness , in fact this build is built using his manifests. Huge thanks to him.
I literally did nothing to get this build works - everything works flawlessly out of the box.
Builds won't be updated unless I found problems that I could fix it myself, or I felt that there's nice features that I could cherry-pick to this build. Since Android 4.4.4 no longer receive updates, thus I don't see there's a necessity to have regular builds - means no updates or ETAs. Every build is considered a Final release.
This build is here to give our beloved Atrix 2 a beautiful ending. At least, she gets to taste LineageOS now :good:
ROM FEATURES
It is just like previous CM11 builds, highly identical. Nothing special. No magic sauce.
That's not true anyway, I can't resist from adding features that I love to have it on my phone Check changelogs or build highlights for added features
ROM BUGS
Code:
- WiFi : 5GHz not working, disabled in build
- Display : Casting is not working (codec-related problem)
Every release is personally tested on my Atrix 2 in System 2/3. Sometimes I'm steam enough to install on System 1 (this is not good, I lost my WhatsApp chats ).
Thus, this build is confirmed safe to install on both System 1, System 2 and System 3. Please perform clean flash if possible.
ROM INSTALLATION
*NEW USERS: Backup your CID from BMM Recovery is you haven't done so! (under Firmware Flashing section)
1. Prepare SD Card, root access (ICS root or KingRoot) and Install BMM (available from my Google Drive)
2. Proceed booting into BMM.
3. Configure system as per your needs. For Boot Options, enable all except Insecure ADB (recommended)
4. Enter BMM recovery. Format /system, /data and /cache.
5. Proceed to flash ROM and other ZIPs.
6. Reboot system. First boot won't take too long, you are good to go then!
SIDE NOTES
- ART works very well. but latest 4.4 GAPPS won't work well with ART on 4.4 (Play Store will FC)
- No more arm libs error for some modern apps (such as Flutter based apps), which exists in previous CM builds.
- Xposed is working on this ROM. Use the official Xposed only, do not use SolarWarez's
- This build works pretty fluid with GAPPS installed. However if you need maximum performance, you may use MicroG instead.
- Signature spoofing is available out of the box, useful for MicroG users. Enable it in development settings.

I was very surprised to receive a mention notification today. Glad my long-forgotten past work could be of assistance in building this.

Thanks for dropping by!
Without devs like you and other Atrix 2/OMAP4 developers, this won't be possible Would like to thank you all for the hard works :good:
Recently I bricked my Samsung S Advance, so I get back to use Atrix 2 as my daily driver. Available ROMs for Atrix 2 are quite outdated, thus I decided to give LineageOS 11 a shot.
Anyway, may I have your advice on this device's file system? Is it that we must stick with the stock ext3 or we can actually use other file systems? Because I see that the BMM is made not to format partitions.
Sorry, I didn't really know much about this device, I'm just a new Atrix 2 user
New Build 20181209
Highlights
- Removed unused system apps :good:
- Sony Xperia 4.4.4 system animations (identical to Xperia Z1 4.4.4)
- Lowered minimum brightness; you can now use your phone more comfortable in darker place
Check second post for changelogs.

Oh, so lost CID also can replace device thru warranty, hmm this is really interesting
But since I can still use the phone, not a big deal to me as long as I don't plan to give/sell my phone to other people.
Last build has tons of codec problems. Will be fixed in upcoming build.

New Build 20181221
Highlights
- Built-in Signature Spoofing support with ON/OFF switch in Developer Options (useful for MicroG)
- Enabled battery status LED notification feature
- Official build of Xposed framework is NOW SUPPORTED
- Fixed video playback (that's due to one of my previous stupid commit )
- Fixed video recording (also, that's due to the previous stupid commit too )
- Better backlight adjustment when auto-brightness is enabled
Notes
- Use the official Xposed only, do not use the SolarWarez's patched version of xposed.
- Display casting seems won't work all the time, further testing needed! I only tested on a Bravia non-android smart tv which only established successful connection once in about my 50 attempts (and that one time working is not 100% working also due to codec problems).
- Video playback should be relatively fine now. However, do bear in mind that this doesn't means that you won't get any codec related problems anymore. Old omap4 devices are well-known for its codec problems.
- Video recording is relatively fine now. H264 based recording is not an issue anymore. But, the above thing applies to this too
New Build 20181226
No major changes on this build, however if you happen to use the audio jack, please apply this build. Build 20181221 breaks the audio jack.
Greetings to those who are using this ROM :
Thank you for using this ROM. I don't really want this, but recently I just received another Samsung Note 1.
So... that means I won't be using Atrix 2 anymore, and no more updates are to be expected.
Thanks again, and have a nice day!
