About
Gimlo is an all-in-one customizable rom for Xperia Tipo, Tipo Dual and Miro. It supports both locked and unlocked bootloaders, it also supports both custom and stock kernels. To be able to support all these devices, the rom was divide in two parts: Gimlo Firmware and Gimlo Rom.
The install process is based on the Aroma installer that provide a touch-based install wizard and more important, it will let you select which things you want to install... all choices are yours! So finally you will not get the Gimlo Rom but your rom, it could be a rom which contains a lot of features or a light and fast rom.
The size of the rom is slightly large as I am including many things but not all of them will be install, it will depend on your choices during the install process.

Feedback
Your feedback are very important for me as I don't have a Xperia Tipo anymore, so I can't try the new versions of the rom myself.
So if you found something that don't work well, please post a reply and mention these information:
- The version of the Gimlo Stock Firmware that you use
- The version of the Gimlo Rom that you use
- Which Xperia device you've (tipo/miro, st21i/st21a, ...)
- And finally, explain your problem

How to install
* Please, make backups before to install this rom !
* Check the compatibility list to known if something could not work on your device (links are in the first post)
* Boot to recovery system (like CWM)
* Format system partition
(Run "mounts and storage" -> "format /system")
* Format data partition
(Run "wipe data/factory reset")
* Install, at first, the Gimlo Firmware (from Section A) corresponding to your device
(Run "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard")
* Follow the touch-based install wizard
* Install, at second, the Gimlo Rom (from Section B)
(Run "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard")
* Follow the touch-based install wizard
* Restart your phone
If you installed the NXT framework, then follow these additional steps
* Wait that your phone start completely. And don't try to configure anything or to do other things as the NXT framework is not yet available. Your phone will work fine but the install is not complete yet.
* Restart your phone.
* During the boot, a short time after the "Sony" logo, your phone will restart again automatically. Don't be afraid it's normal.
* That's all, just wait that your phone start completely.
If you don't want to use the Gimlo Rom but only the Sony Xperia Firmware, don't install the Gimlo Rom, just the Gimlo Firmware and then reboot.
The installation process could be more or less long depending on how many applications you will install. It could take between 2 and 5 minutes.

Tip if you got a bootloop during the initial boot
* Do not install directly the Gimlo Rom after the Gimlo Firmware. Make a reboot between both of their installation. And after the restart, make a "wipe data/factory reset" again before to start the install of Gimlo Rom.

Important information about NXT framework
* NXT framework is required by many mods so it's highly recommended to use it.
* You need the NXT lockscreen to use the NXT framework or you will get bootloop. So if you choose the NXT framework during the install process, don't forget to select the NXT lockscreen also.
* You need a compatible status bar to be able to use the Small Apps.
------
Here is a list of mods which require NXT framework:
* NXT lockscreen
* Cybershot camera
* Bravia Engine 2
* Xperia Z theme by djedjy
* Location Based Wifi

FAQ
* To upgrade from a previous version to a new one, can I just install the new version over the older one or I have to make a fresh install?
....It's recommended to make a fresh install !
* I already have the last version of the rom but I would like to try different options, can I reinstall the rom directly?
....No, you've to make a fresh install again.
* How can I make a safe upgrade, without loosing data and with good backups?
....As you know, it's better to make a fresh install again. So, here's what you can do to make your upgrade without loosing anything! At first, you can make a complete backup of your phone using the backup/restore function from CWM. It will make a complete backup of your phone at the moment Y, so after to have make this backup you can make as many fresh install as you want and then restore your backup if something goes wrong, you will get your phone as the same as when you did the backup at moment Y. (Backup from CWM is saved to the sd-card, so don't clear it!). So this is just a security in the case if something goes wrong. At the second time, you will have to backup your apps data and/or apps apks, to be able to restore them after the fresh install. To do this, you will have to use TitaniumBackup. Don't backup everything but just the apps data/apks that you want to keep.
* How can I take screenshots of my device?
....There is an embedded feature, you don't need to install anything, just press at the same time the button (Power) and (Vol. -)
* What's the swap between internal and external memory ?
....You can choose between keeping the default configuration or swap your internal and external memory (swap /ext_sd and /sdcard folders). Becareful with this option. It's an interesting one because you will have more space on your /sdcard folder (will depend of the size of your memory card). But you've to keep in mind than depending on how applications manage that, sometime it will work "normally" and sometime when you see something about the internal memory, in fact it will be the external memory ! And vice versa. :silly: (e.g: select MSC mount in xperia settings will mount the internal memory).

I discovered it on google, thanks to Rodrigo63718 for making it. (it's in Spanish)
Even if you do not understand what he says (like me ), it may be interesting. There is just one error into the video, he directly install the "Gimlo Rom" but you've to install the "Gimlo Stock Firmware" before!

No, actually it's only available for Tipo Single Sim. But I could try to add the compatibility for Tipo Dual Slim if I found exactly which difference there is between the two stock firmware.
no, but i need custom rom for st21a2 (

Presentation
Gimlo is an all-in-one customizable rom for our Xperia Tipo, based on the latest stock rom. You can easily add some applications to the zip file of the rom, so they will be automatically installed during the installation process. And with the integration of the Aroma installer, you will have a touch-based install wizard !
Gimlo is not based on another existing custom rom, it's a creation from the scratch (except the stock rom itself :laugh.
Requirement
* Xperia Tipo ST21i - Single Sim only, not Dual Sim
* Stock ICS Rom 11.0.A.4.22
* Rooted phone
* CWM Recovery
* Only tested with locked bootloader
Protection
The install wizard will check if you've a compatible Xperia device (Tipo/ST21i), if not you will not be able to install the rom.
Features
* Based on stock rom 11.0.A.4.22.
* Deodexed.
* Root integrated.
* CWM Recovery integrated.
* Init.d support.
* Bravia Engine.
* Application for fixing the touch screen lags.
* Apex Launcher
* JellyBean Keyboard.
* MIUI Calculator.
* Bootanimations.
----you can choose between 7 bootanimations
* Swap internal and external memory.
----you can choose between keeping the default configuration or swap your internal and external memory (swap /ext_sd and /sdcard folders)
* Status bar.
----you can choose between a modded SystemUI or an application that will generate power control (Power Toggles)
* AC!D Audio Engine.
----you can choose to enable it or not
* Few applications integrated.
----you can choose if you want to install each of them or not **
* Clean rom, a lot of bloatware are removed.
* Aroma installer which provide a touch-based install wizard.
* You can add some applications to the zip file of the rom, so they will be automatically installed during the installation process. To do that, you will have to add the APKs that you want inside the "your_apps" folder of the zip file of the rom. **
* No special tweak is applied to the rom but you can choose yourself which one you want to enable through the "Pimp My Rom" application.
** Those applications will be store under the folder /data/app after the installation (and not inside /system/app), so you will be able to removed them easily.
Working/Not Working
Everything should work otherwise let me known...
To Do
You suggest...
How to install
* Boot to CWM Recovery
* Format system partition (Run "mounts and storage" -> "format /system")
* Format data partition (Run "wipe data/factory reset")
* Install the rom (Run "install zip from sdcard" -> "choose zip from sdcard")
* And then follow the touch-based install wizard
(The installation process could be more or less long depending on how many applications you will install.)

No, actually nothing as for the Tipo Dual Sim. But I could take a look, if there is not many difference between both firmware I can try to integrate it to this rom. But as I don't have a Xperia Miro, I could not try the rom on this device.

Great to known, I'm going to add that on the "To Do List". So on the next version it will be possible to keep the default font or to switch to the new one.

Yes, it's for Locked Bootloader. But it should work fine on Unlocked Bootloader also if you've not change the default kernel. If someone can confirm this, I will add this information on the first page.

Yes sorry, it's the protection system, I make it to avoid people using xperia tipo dual or miro or ... to be able to install the rom. But it should never stop a user of xperia tipo single !
To check this, I make a verification on a system variable, it should normally return "ST21i" and not "Tapioca" as for you. Do you already use a custom rom ? What does your model show in settings -> about phone ?
Maybe be I can use it to make Base

About:
Gimlo is an all-in-one customizable ROM for Xperia Tipo, Tipo Dual and Miro. It supports both locked and unlocked bootloaders, it also supports both stock kernels and custom kernels (so long as they are ICS based kernels). The install process is based on the Aroma installer that provides a touch-based install wizard and more important, it will let you select which things you want to install... all choices are yours! So finally, you will not get the Gimlo ROM but your ROM, it could be a ROM which contains a lot of features or a light and fast ROM.

Feedback:
Your feedback is very important to me as I don't have an Xperia Tipo or Tipo Dual, so I can't try the new versions of the ROM myself on those two devices.

If you installed the NXT framework, then please follow these additional steps:
* Wait for your phone to start completely (after the last step in the main install process). DON'T try to configure anything or to do other things as the NXT framework is not yet available. Your phone will work fine but the install is not complete yet.
* Restart your phone.
* During the booting, a short time after the "Sony" logo, your phone will restart again automatically. Don't be afraid it's normal.
* That's all, just wait that your phone start completely.

If you don't want to use the Gimlo Rom but the Official Firmware, don't install the Gimlo Rom, just the Gimlo Firmware and then reboot.
The installation process depends on how many apps you install. It could take between 2 and 5 minutes.
Important information about NXT framework:
* You need a compatible status bar to be able to use Small Apps.

Not in this update, this has focused on removing items what caused bugs.
no sony widgets on GX launcher, also in the next update put an option if we want to keep Facebook for Xperia.

Which launcher has clock, weather and calendar widget? On Gimlo 2.0 only stock launcher had those widgets.

At the moment it is only the stock launcher, I am unsure of the compatibility of the widgets with the other launchers.
I'm getting an "installation aborted" error when i try to flash Gimlo 2.1 zip file

When are you getting the installation aborted? At the end of the installation or at the start? Have you got signature (md5) verification on? If so, turn it off.

I've removed some things from the ROM which were causing some bugs (like Bluetooth not working, cameras not working because of some mods, the possible fix of a bootloop) and I've updated the aroma and updater-script scripts because of said modifications. I've also added a filter for when the NXT framework is/isn't selected. For example, if the user selected the NXT framework they would only be able to use the NXT lockscreen (to avoid a bootloop) and if they chose not to use the NXT framework they could only use the stock lockscreen (again avoiding bootloops).

What error? We need specific error name to help you. You can PM me too!
I re-downloaded the gimlo rom zip and everything's fine now.
There's still FC on every options list (regardless browser).

Other than that brilliand job! Waiting for new stuff at the next version
I have a big problem since I installed Gimlo on my Tipo Dual . Ever so often I get a lot of messages of apps which stopped. Like playstore and all kinds of apps on the external sd. Mostly it happens when it was standby for a long time over the night, and if I start one app on the sd it also just restarts. After restart is everything fine, but that is really anoying. My sd card is swaped but I had the same problem before with unswapped. I didn't install NXT framework this time, but with NXT framework I had the same problem!
Does anybody have a clue, what might cause that?

FAQ
FAQs
---------------------------------
Q- F.M. Radio Not Working after Social Camera?
A- Backup your Apps (Use titanium Backup, Not Recovery), Wipe Everything. Flash ROM Again, Reboot, and After 1st boot Flash Social camera v1.2 and Enjoy.
Q-How to revert to Normal Purexperia z2 style after flashing themes like Spiderman, etc?
A- just Flash this:-https://www.dropbox.com/s/gvyohab5w9a9p35/RevertTheme.zip
Q- Xposed not working?
A- Make sure that all Xposed apps are in Internal memory and not sd card and update again.
Run App Manager and Move Xposed and Gravity Box or all other modules to Internal Memory.
Run Xposed and in Frameworks again Run "INSTALL/UPDATE" and reboot.
