Galaxy s6 stuck on "custom binary blocked by frp lock" - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just yesterday night when i came home, I plugged in my phone to the charger and i noticed that this FRP lock notification appeared.
https://cdn-images.xda-developers.com/direct/3/4/0/9/7/0/1/IMAG0008.jpg
It looks like that. I attempted to flash a stock firmware on my phone because apparently that would be a solution to this problem. When I attempt to flash it to the stock rom, this message appeared " can't open the serial(com) port". I do not have kies installed so that isn't one of the problem. I have some important data saved on this phone, and I can't lose it. Is there a way to resolve this issue without having to factory reset?

In the first post, in the Odin Mode product name appears as SM-G920P but in Odin you try to flash G920T firmware.

install the stock rom with odin. I had same problem and fixed.

What happened when you just restarted the phone? All I see in the first picture is the phone is in ODIN Mode, the phone has been rooted, and one of the 2 Factory Reset Protection modes is on.

I agree with this post. As I had the same problem on the Note 5. U must flash the version tar that is on the phone or u will get a failed error. I worked for 2 days and this the only thing that worked. I hope u have a TWRP backup saved to your PC or to an OTG sdcard. Because u are going to lose everything.

It surprises me that no one has offered a real solution to this as of yet. It seeems like no one cares enough to follow up on their work. So here I am about to tackle another Custome Binary Blocked by FRP issue. Some of these FRP lock are quite difficult as you may see with this one I'm going to invite to the forum. I'll introduce Brookland and ask for an explaination of their issue so far.

Hi i dont know what aspecially you want to do...
would you just flash the stock rom? Then the frp Lock is no problem. You just need the right Firmware for your device. sm-g920F or 920T or 920P or 920W..........
to download samsung firmware just use:
samfirm
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3803841&d=1467715462
or use frija
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4886005&d=1574653611
booth of them doing the same....to download the choosen firmware in a fast way.
then flash the firmware with odin und it will work.
or
would you remove the frp lock to flash costum rom on a device you found in the gras or on the beach a device you didnt know the google account login data.
its possible but....
btw your picture upload in the first thread isnt availlable any more

If it were that simple I would have been over this a month ago. I'm not talking about the FRP lock that is related to the google account sign in. It's "Custom Binaries are Blocked by FRP Lock". That's sometimes a lot more difficult to fix than your standard FRP lock. Like this time. This ones not in my hands or I would've been done with it by now.
I'm trying to assist someone who has their S6 Plus locked up and I've already supplied them with the Stock, Combination and Repair Files with no positive results. So unless you have another method I haven't heard of this one will be number 2 of devices out of 47 that I couldn't return to operational status. Thanks for trying to help.

Ok pls tell me...what kind of s6 it is.
First you need to flash the stock Rom from Samsung.
I have a Idea...do you have Teamviewer? Then i could try remote Control to Support you.
But you need first to flash the stock Rom. Even Stock Firmware is flash on the device. You need wait for first start. During startup you must enter the Google Login data. This Google Login data is the Key to Open the device and after this. To remove the frp Lock. Then you can flash any othrr Rom you like to.

Hello & Happy Holidays. I have my t-mobile galaxy note 5 (n920t) that i bought off someone but its frp locked. I can't get an otg cable right now to use that bypass method. I tried to flash the stock rom but didn't work. Tried to flash individual parts of another stock rom (the bl and ap files from the PAC Firmware), still nothing. Tried to flash custom recovery, but blocked by frp. Adb only picks up my phone when it's in recovery mode as sideload, not even being able to reboot or anything from adb. If you can get into download mode here is good news for you:
Odin Flashing the official stock 5.1.1 Samsung N920T Tmobile
firmware will get your phone running properly again..
You can download the official stock firmware at http://sammobile.com
Be sure to flash using Odin v3.10.7 (older versions may not work.)
Good luck,
Have a great day!
I flashed the stock firmware, the latest one to be exact. It is still locked. Do i have to wait 3 days for frp to be removed like i've heard on previous forums? Should i just try to flash it again? Im dying over here. lol

same thing happened to me too about 2 weeks ago. couldn't get past the google log in screen. The only way i was able to get around it was to use the Samsung bypass apk that is floating around on the web. I just bought an otg flash/usb drive for about $12 and used that to install the apk on the phone. worked perfectly. Hopefully you can get your hands on an otg flash drive soon and your problem should be solved my friend.
Good luck.

Don't panic. You're not screwed.
This happened to me. Odin flash the correct firmware (so if you were on COI5, you need to flash official T-Mobile COI5). It will reboot into Android and when you're going through the setup wizard it will say something like "this phone was previously locked, please enter your Google account to unlock it." Put in the google account you had on the phone before and the password and voila; it will work.
In the future keep OEM unlocking enabled to avoid this
Disregard that, I can't read

Avoid buying phones from people via Craigslist. If they aren't stolen, chances are the former owner is scamming some other way.
Simple way to tell the seller's motivation: If they know what they're doing, they'll use Swappa, if they've stolen or otherwise borked the phone, they'll use Craigslist.
I've had that same error , ended up i believe. ...that time (been so many soft bricks ) ...I actually used smartswitch emergency recovery mode. Try that or odin

Just downgrade firmware to October update of lollipop and it should work

Phone bricked itself and having issues recovering

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide. This one has me stumped.
First, I have never rooted my wife's device.
The other day it rebooted randomly and would never make it past the t-mobile splash screen. I figured since it wouldn't boot I would try clearing the cache within the bootloader. That made matters worse.
Finally, I did a factory reset to try and fix the problem and now the phone is telling me that there was a problem applying an update and I must use Smart Switch.
Well, when I tried using smart switch it get right to the very end and fails saying the it is FRP locked and no custom software can be installed. I read through some threads and tried using Odin to flash the device using the latest firmware version. Same error with FRP lock. At this point my phone wont boot and I can only get to the bootloader, or to the download screen.
Any suggestions on what I should do next? My KNOX is still at 0, but my software version reads custom for some reason, even though I didn't try to flash anything.
Have you tried using Kies recovery?

Yes, gives the same error as Odin and Smart Switch.
As another note when i enter the bootloader menu it says that it is unable to mount /system so it's as though it got corrupted some how. But I can't flash stock firmware to fix it due to the FRP lock.

I did. It gets to the very end and then give me the FRP error. I could clear the FRP error if the stupid thing would boot to the OS so I could login.
Do you have tmobile ? And if so do you have insurance on it ?
Sounds like you should exchange. The only other thing to try is root the hell out of it.

S6 - Boot Loop - No Recovery - HELP!!!

Hi All,
I a strange thing happened yesterday. My S6 got stuck and when I did a force restart it ended up in a boot loop. To worsen the problem my device had reactivation enabled. I found out that my recovery is not loading also. I guess its due to the reactivation security.
So far I have tried the following:
1. Tried to install the stock firmware
2. Tried to install new stock firmware (marshmellow)
3. Tried Kies and Smart Connect (did not do anything)
I'm pretty much clueless at this point. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advanced...
Any captains to help?
Maybe try flashing ONLY the 'recovery.img' inside the firmware file, and if you can get into the stock recovery after that then clear cache and wipe, then try to flash firmware again

Thank you very much for the input. Do you feel that when I flash the original firmware it did not apply the recovery.img that was inside the tar ball? I could manage to create a tar ball with only the recovery image but in that case will it trigger the knox counter and void warranty?
Again, I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks mate
BTW I tried with both Odin and smart connect. Nothing helped. They both complete and say it went well but after restart its simply another boot loop
When you flash stock with odin it should say pass and should boot or visit Samsung for fix

One quick question before I flash this and trip knox. On your device was Reactivation set to ON?
I was not worried about Knox so much so did not pay attention to it. What Warranty Custom ROMs FTW
Where does it mention Reactivation ? In Download mode ?
I can check later when the misses gets home for ya
One thing I did notice is every recovery I have tried the ones that work now say "recovery not selinux enforcing" or something along those lines..(when entering recovery)

Ha ha, very true about Knox. And yes in download mode it shows if Reactivation is ON or OFF. The purpose is to not allow anyone to factory reset the device if this is turned on. Hence the unavailability of the recovery mode.
I would really appreciate it if you could check and let me know. Thanks in advance mate

Sorry for the silence on this. But I decided to hand over the device for warranty claim. At no point I did trip Knox so they accepted for warranty claim process. Ideally I should get it back end of this week.

Thanks for the info. But as mentioned recovery is not available in Reactiation - ON mode. Its a security feature they provide to prevent people from stealing your phone.

Unexpected "Custom Binary blocked by FPA"

Hi everybody,
I'm in trouble since this morning.
A month ago, I rooted my S7 with ODIN following the tutorials. Everything works fine.
Yesterday, I had some crashes of the MAPS application.
This morning, I decided to restart my phone to check this trouble. Bad news.
My phone refuse to start with the message "Custom Binary blocked by FAP".
I can access to the download mode and yes, it's set on FAP block : ON !
I don't know how it's happened. The question now is : what can I do ?
Do you thing I should flash with the official ROM again or do I reset to factory directly ?
Thank's for your help.
Best regards.

Can't install TWRP Samsung J320FN frp locked

Samsung J320fn is FRP locked. Can access download menu (but not recovery - that just displays frp locked). Using Odin I have tried several versions of TWRP for this particular phone and all fail - I assume because of the lock.
So I am stuck it seems. I thought of putting TWRP onto a microSD in the phone but that is no good as the phone won't boot.
Any suggestions please?

Can still boot into system normally?
If not, flash your stock firmware.
To get passed FRP, you need to get into system and remove the Google account that is on the device, then FRP shouldn't be a problem.

Flashing stock firmware does not require TWRP. All you need is a PC, Odin, the Samsung drivers, the stock firmware for your device, a USB cable and a charged battery in the device.
If your device has a locked bootloader, you won't ever get TWRP to flash correctly.
Stop focusing on getting TWRP installed, focus on repairing the device the way it is supposed to be.

Yeah, it helps to eliminate hardware causes before posting as if you are having a software or flashing issue.
A faulty cable during a flashing process can completely brick your device, get a better cable.

If you can still boot into system, go to system settings>accounts and remove your Google account from the device. Then try flashing the device.

The phone doesn't boot into system because it is blocked by frp, so i cannot remove the account from the device.

If that is the case, you are posting in the wrong thread, you aren't having trouble installing TWRP, you are dealing with being FRP locked.
The XDA rules prevent us from helping you remove the FRP block. You'll have to get help with that somewhere else or figure it out on your. This rule exists because the methods to bypass FRP can be used to unlock stolen/lost devices. Even if your situation is legitimate, if we help you find a way to bypass FRP, the information/help we give you can be used by someone to unlock/access a device that does not belong to them. We avoid posting information that can be used in the wrong way by the wrong people.
