First you'll need to install QuickShortcutMaker or other similar apps to enable making custom shortcuts. Then search "signboardtest", run it you'll see a page as shown in attached screenshot.
Here you can perform bunch of testings on the second screen, including posting various kinds of notifications (warning: do not test ProgressBar as notification type ?)
What's more important is you can modify the notification size and how long it sticks. Those are what I've found so far, hopefully we can dig something useful here and find a way to modify it the ways we want.
Great find ! Thanks for sharing!

Search signboardtest under settings in the shortcut maker? I don't see it listed separately.

this is how I got it
Did you happen to install anything else? I've searched for this (as I'm having an issue with my 2nd screen at the moment) and I don't have signboardtest as an option, even searched for signboardtest with Root Explorer.
Just looked in T-Mobile version. However I do not see it listed.

Confirmed I found signboardtest as well using quick shortcut maker. On a Verizon v10
You can change all of that, but it doesn't actually stick.. Tried all them last week. Change the notification to 7 secs and then exit out, then test a real notification(not from sign test app) and count the seconds it stays on second screen, it will still be 3 secs..

Not on Tmo, I pulled it from the hk version.
Tmo doesn't have that, but there is a lgsignboard.apk and lots of other signboard files.
I don't know enough to dig into it but the option is in here somewhere

So you're telling me that the notification stays legible for a full 7 secs? I just did it again and still goes off after 3. It may say 7 secs, but it's not actually staying on for that long, screen on or off.
Is there a way to push Tasker variables to the second screen?
Awesome!
This is Fantastic. Worked for me! VS 990.
Don't know how many times I went to click on a Text notification and right as i clicked it the notification disappeared and I opened one of my 'Quick Apps' ... sent a text to myself to verify that the notification displayed for 6 seconds...
WINNING!
Thank you!
... Also you can find this shortcut with the 'AnyCut' app.
Tried it with the stock messaging app and it did stay on longer, but haven't found any other notifications that stay on for the full duration.

I ported it from the hong kong version. It is it's own apk with odex and libs. It doesn't come on the Tmo version. It wasn't working for me before, but after a reboot the notification time stays to whatever I set it in now. I thought I was going to have to mod the app for it to work, but it is fine now.

A problem gsiff daemon, which was solved by simple reboot, lead me to developer options/cpu usage, screen where I found the gyroscope doing this (attached images). is it normal. my battery is getting killed.
Edit : my wife is up now so I can checked her phone. gyro seems to me doing the same thing. she said her bat is not great either
My nexus 7 has those numbers on top but barely even change colors
Edit: the process, even though it's listed as a cpu process, doesn't show up on the battery monitor widget.

I'm having the exact same issue all of a sudden. I'm new to the phone (android phones actually), did you figure out the issue?
same problem on my sprint galaxy s 3
Same here I am on ATT. Using system panel I was able to pick it out. It appears it turned it's self on when I plugged it in and continued to run for quite some time.
Here in my input to the problem
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
First thing I did was stop the process. Then I used a root explorer (I use Solid Explorer, I highly recommend it) and got down into it until I found gsiff_daemon. I can't remember where, exactly it was located, and since I'm on CM10 now, the problem is taken care of anyway, but I digress. Once I found it, and had previously stopped it, I just deleted it. That was that. It never popped up again, and my battery life improved drastically.
IN RELATION TO GSIFF_DAEMON
do any of you guys have the "increase volume in pocket" setting on in phone-->settings?
also do any of you have motion settings enabled and/or autorotation on?
Seems it has to do with the gyro issue
also are you guys rooted or non-rooted?
Crapppp
Jellybean didn’t solve it. Gsiff_daemon just popped up for me. Just renamed it AGAIN.
Hopefully it won't pop up again

Hi, does anyone know an app or hack for this?
Picture attached is of an S7.

Nevermind, it seems MIUI doesn't include Daydream which is required like many others do.
Maybe it can be added? I have root & Xposed but no idea yet on how to achieve it.
Let me Google that...

Hey mate, I installed this & the plug in, gave it overdraw permissions as requested but when I go into settings the app tries to show a preview but all I get is a black screen, I've tried upping the opacity & other settings but to no avail? Does it show on yours?

Hello, sorry for delay, I have installed a app which name is Awake!! from Pablo Criado in playstore, but battery is spent right away. Luck for you!
Ok so I was trying to play a game that requires me touch the screen in two different areas at the same time but when I hit the second touch the first touch kind of de-registers. It's happening on the left side of my display.
I used an app from the play store also. Multi Touch Test.
Any body else noticed any issues?

I used antutu and was able to get it to show all 10 fingers at the same time for me. Try giving your screen a good wipe down and clean.
Yeah I've wiped down already. It does register all touches but as soon as I move my fingers around the touches go all crazy.
I've tried multi touch tester app on play store and mine registers all my fingers from 1 to 10 and no issues including moving around. Sounds like you might have a bad phone.

If you're referring to the "arch" shadow that appears when you scroll all the way down or up, it not jelly scrolling. It's been like that by design. I think even my 1+3 &1+3T had it.

I did some deeper digging on to the "issue" and I guess you mean that the text will seem to rip apart and refresh at a different rate on some parts of the screen led's, therefore showing as it's kinda stretching when you scroll fast? Yeah, that is there, but I don't see that as an issue. I really, really had to stare at big black letters on white to see the effect. But I really don't see it as an issue, at least it isn't a deal breaking one. The phone flies and mine's got 256 GB of storage. So you were right, but c'mon.
