Hey, I just got this phone and I can't find anything about it.
I really want to root, install a custom ROM, and do all that stuff but I can't find anything.
And no, this is NOT THE SMART ULTRA 6!
So many people think it's the same, it's crazy haha!
Anyway, I really want to root and install Xposed Framework, and install a new ROM if possible but I have no idea how.
Can't find absolutely nothing.
vodafone smart grand(there is no 6 at the end)
Hi I've also been trying to root this phone(vf-696),my research so far tells me its a mediatek mt6580 chipset and its running on android 5.1.1 .the device partitions look like 'emmc_p20' not the usual 'mmcblk0p7'(I've more info if you need it just ask).thanks to anyone who can help to root this phone
Not sure if you can bump this kind of threads but still haven't found anything, looking forward to get help
Please anyone, I need a stock rom, can someone with this model can create a backup that can be flashable by the stock recovery?
I am stuck on "checking connection" after unrooting,,,

First off, I'd like to say thank you in advance for any help I receive. I'm not an expert by any means at this - I would consider myself amateur at best!
I'm fairly desperate at this point - I've been trying for days to solve this myself by following various tutorials and forums, but have had no luck, so I'm really hoping someone here is willing to help me out!
What I've been trying to do:
Install official Google 4.2.2 Jellybean on HTC One 802w Dual sim model.
Current State of phone:
The phone is currently rooted and has clockwork mod installed and SuperSu 1.65 and has moonshine installed. However, I've had absolutely no luck in finding or flashing a 4.2.2 ROM onto the phone. I cannot find a ROM to match the phone - all the zips I download from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43177948&postcount=369 say that they're corrupted and can't be copied to the phone or extracted. I find this really weird as I've checked the MD5 with HashCalc and they match. I have searched around other sites but cannot for the life of me find a ROM that works.
If it isn't possible to install the official Google ROM, I would be ecstatic if someone were to guide me through the process of restoring the phone to a complete factory state. I downloaded a supposed recovery img file for this phone, however it doesn't seem to work, so I flashed clockwork back on instead.
If anyone can help me with either of these things, I would be EXTREMELY grateful - I've reached a point where I'm at a complete loss on what to do.
Thank you very much for your time

Dear Scott,
I was looking for a way to install a Google Play Edition on my HTC One 802w when I stumbled upon your post.
Although I cannot help you with your primary goal, as I have not found a way to do it myself, I think you may have a chance to get your phone back to work installing an alternative ROM.
I have a MaximusHD (http://llabtoofer.com/2013/07/23/htc-one-dual-sim-maximushd/) running on my phone, and it is pretty customizable; but it is not a stock ROM.
I hope my advice will be of some use for you.
If you find a way to flash a Google Edition ROM on the 802w, please, post it for us here.
Good luck!
Me too, looking for alternative custom ROM for this model. I had to buy this model which comes from China Unicom which is not sold in my country (Malaysia) because i really need a good dual sim phone. I read thru the Maximus HD had some issues with dropped calls and Bluetooth connection sometimes not stable. Is there other custom ROM out there that I can try? Really hate all these chinese apps taking up space on this phone.

i am extremely new to the rom/flashing/rooting scene. i recently used a "back door" rooting process, which worked great and i did all the recomended actions and apps: supersu titanium backup, root browser, etc. then i wanted to change my boot animation->samsung device-> flash a zip file to allow bootanimation.zip->samsung requires signature verification from stock recovery mode->cwm recovery(which flashes itself to the phone... curious why a custom recovery...or any recovery for that matter is even required if it isnt necessary...) -> recovery menu no longer accesible. i cant flash anything to my phone i tried changing the recovery to twrp but no dice. its giving me this dialog along with caution sign:"system software not authorized by verizon wireless has been found on your phone...etc" the phone is a samsung galaxy legend on verizon prepaid plan it is the jasper version of the samsung galaxy stellar. now for the question... What do i do so that i can flash files to my device?
i dont know much about unlocking the bootloader except that doing so with the wrong program will brick your phone and since im doing this recreationally on my primary phone i dont want to buy a new one. how can i regain access to my recovery menu/ unlock my bootloader?
its not a popular phone so i doubt anyone is going to be able to offer a one touch application to unlock the bootloader but any information would be helpful.if youre still reading this i thank you for any advice and i apologize if i : posted in the wrong section, offended anyone, or came off as a cheap experience-less n00b
EDIT: my phone is running 4.1.2 jellybean, baseband:i200ppvramh1, kernel: 3.0.31, build: jzo54k.i200ppvramh1, dont know if that will help any and before anyone criticizes me remember i am completely new to this forum posting thing but i guarentee i have scrounged this site the world over trying to get help but there just seems to be noone working on this problem the same as me...
Hi guys,
Need help to get what kind of phone get into my hands? How to get differences beetwen those 2? All I know its the version with MTK6589.
Also I'm trying to instal some ROM at this phone, and can't get it done. SP Flash Tool is not seeing the phone, same with Odin, when I try to instal ROM from recovery mode it always say: aborted.
Did anyone of you had this phone and manage to be done??
Thanks for advices.
Your first question: We cannot tell you which device to buy/is better. That is a decision for you to make based on your needs.
Your second question: please clearly indicate which device you're having the issue with so we can recommend your next course of action.
thank you

Thank You for the answer. Im not considering buying any of this devices, I just got it from my sister boyfriend to see what can I do with it. That's why I asked do anyone got idea how to check is it HDC or Goophone.
To Your second question: I think its HDC S5, so lets stay on it. I tried to instal ROM via SP Flash Tool and the program didn't find the devices (I was doing everything like in the instructions), same with Odin (which i guess is normal since its a chineese clone). Stock recovery at this phone is in china language so I tried to instal ROM via CWM Recovery and got only information that instalation is aborted.
ROM installed right now is:
model.. sm-g900h
device.. mtk 6589
android..4.4.2
baseband version. G900HXXU1ANCE
Ok well you'll need to ask your question here.
It's not a popular phone and has very little support so you may not find what you're looking for.
good luck
Hey im very new to rooting and installing roms and custom recoveries, so normally i try to teach myself and i seem to made a mistake somehow. I first sucessfully rooted my CoolPad 5560S and i attempted to install a custom recovery, now i looked up many videos and websites and many apps and found Flashify and this is where i got confused.
i found what i assumed was to be a custom recovery but it had many files within the zip. now i didnt understand if i needed to use my laptop for this or not and i guess i messed up but only using the "recovery.img" thats in the folder and setting flashify to use that img..it shut off my phone and started it in fastboot and every since i havent been able to do anything and im not sure what to do at this point as i said earlier that im very new to this kind of stuff and i couldnt find much on my specific phone.
i really would love for some kind hearted person to help me get fastboot off my phone as i heard it may be possible but again im not sure, i regret not fully digging deeper into what i was doing and actually taking the time to look through the steps but i was so confused with all the different tutorials and stuff i ended up messing up my phone. someone please help me i would really appreciate it. Thanks
Hi !
This is a thread related to your problem.

Good luck !
Anything at all that someone might have for this device would be useful. I'm trying to see if I can get a Lineage install for it, or even just a backup ROM before attempting to debloat it a bit (I'm an Android newbie and like having a backup), but I can't seem to find much of anything on it on Google.
The device does have an unlockable bootloader, but I'm not sure how I would go about using this to any of the things in the topic.
E: For the record, I should probably explain why I'm so desperate for this--not only am I wanting to debloat this device, but ideally, I'd like to try flashing a generic system image to see if it can update to Android 12. Android 10 works fine on it, but I'd very much like some of the introduced accessibility features--however, I also want a backup of the original firmware, just in case something goes wrong.
I would also like for someone to answer this...please.
Has there been any luck with 9048s? I have same model and been looking also for the same exact solution.
