question... Can I pick up a Tmobile Note 5 and have it work perfectly on Verizon? Has anyone tested this? Also does it work with the Root and Unlock Options?
Nope, won't work on VZW.
It will work on AT&T though. (one catch though, it will be carrier locked and you will need to have it active on TMO for 40 days before they allow it to be unlocked via their app)
And yes the bootloader is unlocked so you can root and rom to your heart's content.
But if you're on VZW you have a wifi phablet that can take great photos.

I don't know if this is a dumb question or not. But I have a Galaxy S5 through verizon using a sim card on the prepaid $50 plan. It bums me out that the bootloader is locked on it. So no root. Started googling around and was wanting to get the note 4 in a few days. Turns out once again the bootloader is locked on that too. My question is are there any flagship verizon phones that will accept my sim card that don't have a locked bootloader so I can root? My main reasons for wanting to root are running CM/ removing bloatware/ Running xposed modules and being able to change the color of the text in the notification bar. I've rooted phones before. But I'm not sure if it's even possible to maybe get another carrier unlocked phone and use my sim in that instead so the bootloader would be unlocked allowing root. ex buying an ATT note 4 that has an unlocked bootloader and then putting my verizon sim in it. Just sucks verizon is LITERALLY the only provider available in my little town.

Maybe a noob question, but still.
I have sprint note 5 that I use in Europe with CDMA and European GSM carriers. However, I got this phone in a used condition and wonder if it has been European Sim unlocked out of the box.
So, basically, my questions are:
1) are note 5 sprint devices come internationally unlocked?
2) if not, will marshmallow update re-lock it?
Ps. I don't intend to use it with the USA GSM carriers.

yes its possible, but you need to network unlock it. I know of 2 ways to achieve this. idoneapps.com has an unlock service that ive used on 2 G900Ps, and their unlock makes it completely unlocked and usable on any provider including vzw. The other way is via a xda member names @stifilz who has been unlocking phones for folks and he is solid as can be! his services dont require payment, but donations to to him are surely appreciated. After the network unlock, you may have to add some LTE bands on your device to get full functionality, but what youre asking for is possible

Last I saw Verizon was only accepting the Sprint iPhone 5c, 5s, 6, 6plus, 6s, 6s plus, and the Nexus 6....and a few of the iPad's
Sorry if this thread has already been created, but I needed the quickest and most accurate of decisions before I go spending money. I'm in a position to buy a Sprint Galaxy Note 5 for a great price but I need it unlocked. I'm currently using straighttalk with their "Verizon" CDMA BringYourOwnPhone SIM card on a Sprint 5S that has been unlocked. I'm waiting to pull the trigger on the Note 5, just wanted some assurance and possibly some guidance/assistance on getting this bad boy unlocked as well! Thanks in advance
you need to take it to a pro. my phone was unlocked using one of those "boxes", octoplus box but sometimes they need a rooted phone to work so goodbye knox
I know Sprint will unlock it, even though it's not on their DSU list (Domestic SIM Unlock). I requested it, and they unlocked it for US carriers a few days later. So it can be done on Nougat.
I came across a Note 10+ that was purchased from Verizon and I wanted to use it on TMobile. I know the Verizon devices are SIM unlocked so voice and data should work fine however I am worried that I will still be stuck with all the Verizon bloat and WIFI calling won't work.
Does anything change to TMobile's when you factory reset the device and put in a TMobile SIM?

Yes Verizon locked phones for 60 days. Then they automatically unlock phones.
