Hello,
My girlfriend left her Nexus 5 on water for a while.
I unassembled it and dried it up, however there is probably a bit of water between the screen and the digitizer.
When I try to boot, I see the Google screen then it shows this picture

I can access fastboot mode, the pc recognises the phone and all.
Unfortunately the bootloader is locked, so I cannot boot a recovery. Is there a way we can at least retrieve the data?

I've reflashed it, but it is the same...
It won't do a hard reset to, i dosen't response.
After a little bit of agresive shakeing it started, but after the first restart it stuck again.
It seems to be looseing some contact inside the phone.
I've fixed it. I didn't sleep all night
The problem was with flat cable that was out of its contact place, I think it is because I've droped the phone once yesterday.
I downloaded Xposed and flashed it. After I rebooted it, it got stuck on this screen;
(Not my phone, but same screen)

Anyways, I can't go into recovery mode, download mode, I can't even turn it off.. I don't know what to do.
Awkward situation it should go to download mode?
Check that you are pressing right keys to get into download mode!
Download mode cant be corrupted like bios in computers
The device is not oem unlocked, and it only boots to the screen mentioned, when connected to the PC it appears as a CD unit, with no options at all.

When trying to use ADB or FastBoot won't work, also tried to use the Huawei tool and it doesn´t work.
Any ideas on what to do, I really want to obtain all my photos and data back.
Do I have to open the device or is it completely dead?
exactly the same issue here, very strange..
seeing other threads in november 2019?
what is going on?
I have a friend who sent me this pic of her 3a that she said died suddenly while talking on the phone. I tried to tell her the steps for a hard reset and also for booting into recovery, but she says it only either goes to black screen or the screen in the pic. Since I'm not there and can't try it myself, I'm not sure if she's trying the reset / recovery button sequence properly.
Has anyone seen a screen that looks like this? If so, is it a hardware failure?
TIA for any input.

Prperly unlocking the bootloader DOES NOT BRICK a phone: it simply triggers a Factory Reset.
