Been using H2OS for a while now. Even installed the OTA update. Everything is super smooth and battery life is pretty darn good.
Now I'd like to go back to CyanogenMod 12.1 (and maybe try CyanogenMod 13) but every time I flash another ROM I will have no phone signal and WiFi will not work at all.
Trying to find a carrier it will result in: Error searching for networks
Clicking the WiFi icon which is toggled off will result in nothing happening
I tried to flash a ROM and the suitable modem via fastboot flash modem
Tried ROM's like CyanogenMod (stable, nightly, 11), OxygenOS and so on but all of them show: Unknown
Would be great to get help on that! Kind of annoying not being able to enjoy the freedom flashing other ROM's.

Hello!
I was using the SungSonic ROM for almost a year now and I decided to change it today. So I flashed a CyanogenMod Nightly build for the P3100 This morning.
It booted up fine, and there were no issues in the beginning.
But then it started disconnecting calls randomly. Like, Someone calls, The phone rings for a second and boom! It shows a missed call.
I figured rebooting it would fix it but it made my problem only worse.
It now barely shows any Network service at all. If it is there, only for about 20s before it goes back off.
Is there any way to fix it without flashing another ROM? I like CyanogenMod and plus, its for my mother and I prefer keeping it simple.
Also, keep in mind that my Tab does not get recognised on any PC with any Cable I could find.
So, I am stuck with PhilZ Recovery for the P3100.
If the problem can be fixed via Flashing a new Mode/Baseband then please, give me a .zip for only the modem and not the whole ROM.
Thank You for Reading and I will hope you guys help me out.
Regards,
Shinichi Reshima
Always do a nandroid B/U before you flash so if you run into a problem like this you can go back. CM nightlys are not always stable, and sometimes you can't use them unless you have the base stable version of that ROM already installed. Must try and install the base version of the build, it may fix your problem. I run CM11 by Android Andi with no issues and no nightlys.
Pp.
I have been running CM 11 for quite a while now on my Nexus 5 and I always have been having signal issues where it would drop consistently and with the data not working despite having a connection. Also, I would get LTE signal sometimes but data would not work. These issues were not present when I installed stock Android or even some other ROMs but I really like CM and wanted to stick to it. I was experimenting around today and for the last 6 hours I have not had any issues yet so I wanted to share this with others in case they are in a similar situation. I did these steps in order.
1) Wipe clean your entire phone. Philz recovery helps here as it can be done in 1 step.
2) Install the latest CM nightly OR latest snapshot. I am personally running todays nightly (12/11/14)
3) Install a custom kernel. I have read around the forums that sometimes the stock CM kernel gives issues so I installed the Chaos kernel which is the only CAF kernel I could find.
4) Flash Lollipops baseband. This here seems to have removed most of the problems. I flashed the m8974a-2.0.50.2.21 baseband.
5) Boot into the ROM and update the APN. Although CM usually picks up on APN settings I have noticed that the ones in by default weren't exactly the newest APNs I found on Google. Update them and reboot again.
* If you decide to install the Nigthtlies, keep in mind when you upgrade to the next newest Nightly you will have to flash the custom kernel again !
I did these steps and I am consistently getting 4-5 bars and in areas where there is LTE coverage my data is working fine. Hopefully at least 1 person can benefit from this !
Enjoy
Problem Solved - I restored the CM12 backup and now I have signal. Do you folks think I will continue to have problems if I attempt to go back to KK again?
After trying the CM12 Nightlies, I decided i wasn't a fan and decided to try some KitKat AOSP Roms before going back to CM11. My first mistake was installing the AOKP Rom which wasn't officially supported for the Sprint version. During set up I realized that there was no cell data and tried to unroot. My second mistake was when I got cell signal back; I decided to test if the initial loss of signal was just a fluke. Re rooted and reflased the same AOKP rom. Once again i lost cell signal. However, when I unrooted to stock this time there was no cell signal on the stock rom. I have no idea how to fix it. I've tried to flash the .pit i saw in another post and tried to use the "Phone EFS Clear" in Odin to no avail. At this point I'm rooted with a the Stock ROM and no cell signal. I realize I got myself into this mess by being dumb but I could really use the help in fixing the issue.
Info - Rooted with TWRP Recovery running Out of Box Stock Rom.
APN fix!
This will fix signal issues!
Thanks, if I go back to a KK ROM and have the same issue I'll have to try it out.
Hi there,
Everything was working just fine, but since I switched to a new carrier I can't get the network back as soon as my OP looses it (subway for example). I have 4G as my favorite internet mode and my APNs are good.
Only a full reboot fixes it, not even a soft one. What can I do?
I use the lastest CM 12.1 S rom (YOG4PAS3JL)
Maybe I should try to flash Oxygen's modem? http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...dio-updated-modem-radio-files-oxygen-t3072516
It seems many users are affected by the problem but I didn't find a real solution, hence my post.
Thank you!
After a long investigation, it seems that the OPO is having trouble switching for and from 4G. I solved it using 3G as my preferred network, but I'd have loved using 4G
reinstall the system... u can google fastboot images for opo... flash them through CMD
I've tried 3 ROMS and at least 4 modems so I think I've tried eveything that's available atm
I have had the same problem for some time now. But no reliable solutions found. Have tried various versions of ROM and Radio. Currently using 44S and CM 12.1 S (YOG4PAS3JL).

Didn't fix the problem. Finally reverted back to Oxygen OS. Complete reinstall, including bootloader, storage, everything. Got it done at OPO service centre. Much better reception now.
This is consistent across every CM14 ROM I've flashed. I am upgrading from CM13.
The signal bar at the top is blank as in "no service", it attempts to reconnect and show a signal for a split second but then goes back to "no service" again. When I remove my SIM card and reboot the problem simply vanishes, but of course I can't get LTE
Firmware: PCA
Recovery: TWRP 3.0.1.0
I have tried running the ROM stock with no data restore and I have tried flashing APN settings from this post.
I at first thought it was a CM14 bug but then I read that others had no problems with CM14 ROMs.
Assuming you actually have a SM-G900P (since a lot of people ignore that little detail) it's probably a matter of Cm14/14.1 doesn't appear to be wholly happy with anything other than the latest baseband, which is now PK1. To get it, just reflash to stock with Odin and then poke at the thing until it gets the two OTA updates that will bring you up to PK1. At that point if you like you can poke at the controls to update the PRL and Profile (just to be sure everything's good) and then let me suggest you make a call or two and/or send some SMSes to be sure you didn't mess something up when you tried to change the APN settings one almost never needs to touch, and then flash TWRP (or whatever recovery you use) right back in and sideload the Cm14.1 nightly and open-gapps for 7.1. Also, you will need to do a factory reset after upgrading to 14.1 or you'll get a wholly different set of misbehaviours out of the phone (trust me... I deliberately cut corners through multiple rounds of reflashing to find out what symptoms to look for). One of the more endearing failures can be no soft keyboard, nobody wants that.
I had a bunch of weirdness happening (including completely non-functional GPS) with CM14 a few days ago, and since the changelog doesn't seem to show anything addressing the screwy problems I had, it hints very strongly that people will need to update to PK1 before they can expect the device be reliable.
OH... and don't try and enable Adoptive Storage if it asks. The performance is abysmal for some reason (around 2Mb/s on a Class-10 card that otherwise hums along at 14Mb/s) and it will make any apps that are trying to use storage run like crap.
So people have it working on PK1? Has anyone had it working on PCA?
Edit: Odin restored PK1, it didnt want to boot after the reflash. I installed TWRP and restored a PCA Backup, updated PRL and profile. I flashed a cm14.1 ROM and still had the same issues.
It also didn't wipe my internal storage when I ran odin, which I remember it doing in the past.
Worked great on my S5 900P
Gracefully I got it to work on Resurrection Remix. Idk if it was the APNs or just more stable ROMs.
I booted RR stock w/o gapps, I went to enter in the APN settings using this site and it just magically worked after I entered in only the first line. It's hard to tell if it was because the ROM found out how to connect or if the first line of the APN settings triggered something.
