Is the new version of Spotify that is the issue, you're not the only one

It's a pain in the ass I'll be showering and all of a sudden Spotify prime kicks off. They need to fix this asap I have been using Google music I forgot I uploaded all my music 17k worth of music. Talk about blast from the past...

This has been an issues from way back. They fix it then suddenly they do it again. I hate it ...

Pandora crashing for anyone?

I use Pandora alot but lately its been just stopping for no reason. When it crashes it crashes in a way I have to go into my process manager and kill it because it's protected and restart it. I've used Pandora since it hit the market. Anyone have suggestions or an alternative until they fix it? Btw i'm on 2.2 and I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
Pandora is pretty crappy on android. I've encountered the exact thing since I started using it in February.
I think you're just gonna have to wait until they get their head out of apple's ass and update the app so it functions.

I'm on 2.2 and use pandora and have never had it f/c. the only program I am trying to run on 2.2 and can't because it force closes is shapewriter (btw it is not 2.2 compatible yet)
Is the version of pandora you are using the "-1"?
also make sure that it is not installed on the memory card...I had a few fc's with programs that i put there
Pandora rarely force closes. It just stops. You can exit it, but it won't start going again until you go into a process manager and kill the service.
yeah its not foreclosing it's just stopping which is annoying because it usually waits till a song I actually want to hear pops up.
@JCopernicus Ive never had a problem with pandora until the this past weekend.
yeah i confirm this too, i usually dont even download music because i use pandora so much, but its been acting up a lot lately, once the phone sleeps it stops after a few minutes, then once i go back into it, it says acquiring connection or some bs, which is weird cuz i even tried on full wifi and it still stops...
For me on my Nexus One it crashes after about 10 songs or so. For my girlfriend on her myTouch3G it works ALL DAY LONG without crashing. Seems like its an issue with 2.1,2.2.
Yup having a problem on it too. Not sure what the deal is.
Anyone else notice Pandora sounds terrible on Froyo, even on the HQ setting?
same here. 2.2 and pandora took a ****. I use slacker radio (non membership) and it works great.

Napster and Slacker Radio Streaming Issues

Hello fellow posters,
I am having a very strange problem that shows its ugly head with Napster and Slacker Radio. The song will play for exactly 12 seconds and then stop. The song will then resume again several seconds later. The rest of the song plays fine from that point forward. I find it strange that it happens on both apps at the same exact time (12 seconds). MOG doesn't seem to have this issue.
I have a 4G signal with at least 3 bars when the issue happens. The problem doesn't occur is streaming from WIFI.
Is anybody else having problems with these apps with their G2X?
Thanks for your time,
Lance
I have the same problem. I was running the gingerbread leak thought it was that. So I'm back on stock same problem.

Napster and Slacker Radio
Does anybody have ideas on how to resolve the issue (song stops playing after seconds almost every time. The song then starts playing again after several seconds).
Is it a phone issue since it happens on both Slacker Radio and Napster? Any setting changes that can be done?
Thanks,
Lance
I haven't tried napster, but for slacker, try version 2.1.191. I loaded it with titanium backup. The last couple versions suck, and apparently not just on our phones/roms. The market comments are BAD. lol...
Not sure how to locate it if you don't have a backup. I'll see about getting the apk somewhere.. It was free on the market, so I can't see how it would be "piracy"...
I have the same problem with Slacker, so it's unusable on my G2x. If this isn't fixed sometime soon, I'll be canceling my paid Slacker account.
slacker updated again today. so far so good streaming over 3g
I had to turn on High quality mode in the settings menu, then the song would cache all the way in 3g. If it's in normal quality, they song doesn't cache all the way and will occasionally skip. Wifi works normally.
I've also disabled the local stream manger in slacker as well. Not sure if that has done anything
I tried again with the latest version and disabling the "local media server" option. Already had high quality enabled.
It actually plays music now. Thanks for the tip. Now if we could get music apps not to stutter when the cpu gets used... Sigh. A dual core should NEVER stutter music when multitasking.
Yes it what the "local Media server" not "local stream manager" . Sorry about that; I didn't have my phone on me.
Glad you're working. Not even sure what that feature does.
i deleted slacker. the damn app wants to run for so many actions. check it out using an app like autostarts. it starts running for a ton of different actions, things that don't even make sense.
winamp is almost as bad,but tolerable.

I disabled Local Media Server too (never noticed that option before), and it seems to be working properly for me too. Thanks everyone!
I have Napster and I have the SAME EXACT problem. The only way I got around it was to download the playlists so it wouldn't skip. It's extremely annoying. I've already informed LG about the issue a month or so ago. Its only on Napster tho. Not Rhapsody or Pandora.

This apparently just showed up with the last update (yesterday or today) and fixed my streaming issues in slacker too (only had time for a quick test though)

[Q] tune in radio pro stops working.

Hi All,
I use tune in radio pro alot.
I have noticed that since I have moved from gingerbread to ICS, tunein now stops working after about 10 minutes.
This is with several different ICS roms and kernel combinations.
I don't get a forced close, it says that "Tunein has stopped working".....
I have emailed the support email twice, but have had no response.
Has anyone else been experiencing problems with tunein radio?
Thanks
Heeter
Problem with TuneIn
I have an strange problem with TuneIn, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note with ICS and I was listening 'Inolvidable FM' that is a radio from Uruguay, about 10 min it stops to work, and not only the TuneIn stops... but all my external sound of the phone, like ring, mp3 player, etc... all functions of the external speaker... I tried search some about this on the internet but not found anything, I found just 1 topic in it's same forum that someone have a similar problem but not with TuneIn and he had to change the speaker... well now I have bought a new speaker and I am waiting it to arrives.
But today something very strange happens... I put TuneIn on a Motorola Atrix with Gingerbread 2.3 of my friend and put the same radio 'Inolvidable FM' from Uruguay, wats our surprise when their phone stops to talk too... :silly: so we check and all sounds stops equal my note... we restarted the phone sometimes and nothing happen, so we try to instal Avast Anti Virus and made an scan, it do not found nothing, but the Atrix starts to talk again... ufa...
but I have tried on my Galaxy Note scan with Avast but nothing happens... I hope that the problem is just the speaker...

[Q] Music Stuttering In Every Player I Try

I have a Galaxy S3 i747 running AOKP 4.2.2. I've tried Google Play Music, Omich Player, Android Music Player, and PowerAmp. Whenever I do anything on my phone while listening to music, it skips for a second or two. By this I mean locking or unlocking it, opening an app, and sometimes doing something within an app. Its really obnoxious and is seriously ruining my enjoyment of this phone. My ROM has an overclock function, so I tried forcing the processor to go to 1.6gHz at all times, but that didn't fix it. It also has an SD card read ahead function, but even setting that as high as 4000kb had no effect. This happens whether there's zero or a dozen apps in the background. Sometimes clearing the apps cache and force closing it followed by restarting the phone helps. Also, sometimes switching to another music player whip fix it for a while before that one starts skipping too.
Is there any solution to this? I've seen other people with this problem but they either never resolve it or the solution that works for them doesn't work for me.
Perhaps
If you have AntiVirus on your mobile phone. Possible that some programs are not compatible

Nope, no antivirus
I know this sounds crazy but try using headphones with a built-in microphone. I'm almost positive that is how I fixed this issue on an older phone that had the same issue.

Music stopping?

Anyone else have this issue, music keeps stopping when playing through the headset, sometimes it could happen after 5 mins, others after an hour, happens in all music and podcast apps, hasn't happened with the FM radio yet though.
Used to happen with me. I had my music player greenified and, after some time, it would auto hibernate. Make sure it's not something you're using.

Yes its happening to my moto as well
So seems we have a fault somewhere. I remember this happening with my old Galaxy S2, turns out if cell signal went it turned the music of for some reason, not sure if this is the same problem though

It happens to me too, I think that OS kills the music app when the RAM is almost full.

I've managed to fix it, a factory reset fixed the issue, give it a try.
I'm getting this problem too. It happens with FM radio as well as music playback with Blinkbox, Google Play Music. It never used to happen before the recent KK 4.4.4 update. Before I do a factory reset does anybody have any other suggestions?
