After searching for Rom to my phone ( Blu Pure XL) , I found it's same phone like Gionee Elife E8 same hardware & different software.
so we can update or Devices ( blue Pure XL ) to Gionee E8 firmware , it's working on Amigo 3.5 UI,
check this site : http://global.gionee.com/product_detail.php?id=30

This is already a known fact that the devices are the same...however they do not share the same radio frequencies. Cross-device flashing will not work.
Maybe it would be best to have separate bounties for root and TWRP? While TWRP would be nice to have it's root that is the really important part. I'd hate for the release of root for our device to be delayed because the dev wanted to try to figure out how to compile TWRP just so they could collect the bounty. Remember, you can run root apps, make backups, install and use Xposed, etc. all without TWRP (or any other custom recovery).

Guys is there any root method for the Gionee Elife E8? I see that Kingo Root appears to work on the Gionee Elife E8. Others have tried and it doesn't seem to work on our phone. I believe it is a driver issue since I couldn't even get Helium to work using Windows. Here is a link to Kingo Root http://www.kingoapp.com/universal-android-root.htm. Maybe someone else can try and if it fails follow the directions and contact Kingo Android Root for support? I am using Android Pay now so I have no need for root at this time. I would ultimately love to have root on this phone once I am through fiddling with Android Pay (which doesn't support rooted devices).
Ill chip in 40.
I currently have about 30 days left to return the phone.
Currently bluetooth is flaky and doesnt usually work with the handsfree in the car.
I use an exchange email account for contacts and they currently do not sync from the mail app to the rest of the phone, so i never know who is calling.
Google voice contacts also do not sync with the phone properly.
I really want to like this phone, but they are trying to force me to hate it......
Probably going to get a replacement device just to try and eliminate the possibility of bad drivers.

Interesting question .. how would you divide the bounties? 50/50? or? I like having TWRP there as my safety net.
Another question too is - once root is achieved - how much development do you guess there would be? I was using a OnePlus One (A0001) .. lots of ROMs for that even with the unusual sales system for that phone. I would love to see CM13, BlissPop, and definately ColorOS. I was using ColorOS 2.1.5i on the OPO - and for me it was running great. Similiar to what is on Blu Pure XL - but with a lot more customizations and better batter life. I think the guy who helped port ColorOS to OPO would be interested - but he would need to have a Blu Pure XL.
Having said all that - I'd chip in some $$ but I'd like to know if there will be a split/how the split will work ..
definitely in!

Hey guys, currently using an OPO running CM13 nightlies. No real complaints about the phone but would love a larger/higher res screen and SD card capability. The ONLY thing holding me back from the BPXL is lack of root and custom roms. I'm assuming that would be coming soon though? Thoughts?
I would definitely throw another $50 USD into the pool to get root on the Blu Pure XL so that we can get some Marshmallow goodness eh?
WE HAVE ROOT!!
All files are at the bottom of my POST in the development thread.
There are a few rough edges to finish, but the hard work seems to be done
So, first off, THANK YOU!
Secondly, congratulations!
Third, I think we should have a group consensus on how the bounty should be given and to whom.

It is very important to note that I only made the tools to automate these processes. All the developers of the root exploits and recoveries are listed below.
Current supported Devices-
Kindle Fire - Tested Version 6.2.2., 6.3 & 6.3.1
Galaxy Nexus - Seems to work. Tested with version 0.4.2+
Galaxy Note - Needs more testers - Will only work on some notes.
Droid Razr - Should also work on other Droid branded phones
All phones that can be rooted by GingerBreak
All phones that can be rooted by psneuter
All phones that can be rooted by zergRush - has been tested and works on many devices. vCheck the comments on the download page.

It has not. That is what I wrote it for though. If your brave enough try it. It shouldn't do any damage either way. Never 100% sure though.

The download is fixed, thanks for the heads up.
I'm almost positive it can't ruin your device. I ran the Galaxy note app on a different phone about 10 times yesterday to see if it would work with no adverse effects. I can't guarantee anything but I'm pretty sure you'll be okay.

ok sounds good!
Gonna test it on a GSM Galaxy Nexus
--- edit ---
Done, everything works fine except one thing.
√ Install Android SDK installs the Android SDK in /home/ folder OK
√ Galaxy Nexus Tools starts OK
X Unlock Galaxy Nexus gives these errors before halting:
/Volumes/BreakDroid/.files/galaxynexus/unlock.sh: line 16: unexpected EOF while looking for matching `"'
/Volumes/BreakDroid/.files/galaxynexus/unlock.sh: line 24: syntax error: unexpected end of file
Click to collapse
Done that manually to test the other options.
√ Install recovery downloads and installs 5.5.0.4 recovery just fine and reboots to it right away.
√ Install root files does what it says, easy and painless.
And... I think that's all, I think it's kinda anoying that everytime you perform one of the steps a new browser window opens with the Paypal donation site, you may want to do that only when quitting the script or something.
Just my 2 cents. I've followed you on Twitter (@migatohacemiau), send me a PM if you need more testing on the bootloader issue
i have the following phones at my disposal:
T-mobile G2 (HTC Desire Z PC10100)
Rooted CM7
T-mobile G2X (LG Optimus 2X P999)
Rooted
Verizon Xperia Play (Sony Ericsson Zeus R800i)
Stock
T-mobile G1 (HTC Dream DREA100)
Rooted CM6
T-mobile MyTouch 4G (HTC Glacier PD15100)
Rooted CM7
T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide (HTC Espresso)
Latest Stock
how can i help, i am willing to unroot devices if necessary (im just hoping there's a big chance that they will be easily rootable after )

Attention!!! this thread is for the ZTE Grand X Max (z787) NOT the ZTE Grand X Max+ (z987) Do not attempt to flash anything meant for the Max+.
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased the ZTE Grand X Max and of course the first thing I did was look for a root method. No luck. So, I wanted to start a support thread for this device and hopefully get root, cwm/twrp and all the goodies that come with root.
Please feel free to reply and maybe together we can make this phone great. I will monitor and update this thread with the latest news involving this device.

he can help
Everyone that's honestly willing to donate to this man ask him for help on this device he worked the galaxy avant when no one else would he's awesome! But he's busy and I'm not affiliated with him in any way other then knowing his work on the avant! So not like he's asking me to say this I just got this device I've messaged him about it and I know I'll donate if he can get it going! Ppl come on here and think these roots and rims magically appear they don't these guys take there own time to work these things and it's nice of them yes there not doing it with the promise of a pay check there doing it because they like the challenge I believe and to help ppl out the least we can do is give a donation to thank them for the time I'm not a developer I'm anyway don't know any except from here and other sites but I'm just saying we want someone to take time away from what ever else there fling to help with our phone let's make it worth it!
Get ahold of SHABBYPENGUIN he is good!
Scratch that can't be done ZTE patched the way it used to be rooted can't do it any more and good chance this phone will never see root that sucks but I opposed to donate to hey him to work on it and he says can'tbe done!
So is there just no one working on this phone or what?... I'd really like root, and anyone that can get it sorted out will get $10 from me

Will pay $$$ for a Grand X Max + Root!
I wish I knew how to figure out the root process for this phone, but unfortunately, I do not. However, I will also pay $10 to anyone able to figure out how to root this device. So far, that's $20 ($10 from previous poster [Muhff], $10 from me) that is offered to find a way for us ZTE users to root our phones! I'll sweeten the deal and pay $30 myself if I see a post in this thread that contains the solution before August 2015. If you know anyone on the site who may be able to figure it out, please spread the word about this. Thanks!

i believe you can do a full backup with adb/fastboot by opening cmd and saying
fastboot boot twrp.img
for example. then, you can open the backup file and find the recovery img in there as long as you still have the stock recovery.
I found it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2310682
It would be very very helpful to me (and anyone with this phone) if someone with the stock recovery and fastboot + adb on their computer could upload the stock recovery image to the internet.
Im not very expert in it myself, im sure if someone with real knowledge swoops by they could do this in a second.. provided they have the phone.

You will need to install the TWRP.apk then boot into it. Via the power and vol. up buttons at the same time or use the TWRP.apk to boot into the recovery panel. Once booted into the TWRP recovery panel you will be able to install the su file.
I am working on a stock recovery image.
I just followed your video and it worked out. no problems.

I think it works currently in South Korea only , perhaps in the coming months will be supported in most countries
Does anyone know what could issue dissapearing of this option ?
Hi, i recently bought this phone and just a two weeks after i got it, i tried to update to Android Version 5.1 Lollipop (not official)
AFter the upgrade all works fine, except that i lost 200mb free RAM memory i had before (now its just 800mb of ram free and usually it was about 1gb)
The point is that this option (and maybe many more which i havent see before) dissapeared from my phone, I cant seem to find again that option Cat 6 LTE
Did anyone tried same thing and experienced same problem ?
Or if so solved it too hopefully ?
What are ur suggestions and opinions ?

Honor6 supports it long time ago..

How to fully restore my phone ?
I tried already "settings►backup and restore" option, without success
becouse it goes on 95% restoring and fails with CUST_FAIL ► POST_PROCESS_FAILED
Then phone restarts and all apps are deleted, phone looks like new but still has same OS (lolipop 5.1 B308)
Is there another way that i can completely delete OS from my phone and install a fresh new one ?
In my case I would like to install a factory OS (4.4.2 KitKat B127) or any lower if possible, and after that update solo (auto)
Please reply if u have an solution
Thanks

becouse it goes on 95% restoring and fails with CUST_FAIL ► POST_PROCESS_FAILED
Then phone restarts and all apps are deleted, phone looks like new but still has same OS (lolipop 5.1 B308)
Is there another way that i can completely delete OS from my phone and install a fresh new one ?
In my case I would like to install a factory OS (4.4.2 KitKat B127) or any lower if possible, and after that update solo (auto)
Please reply if u have an solution
Thanks

only via adb and fastboot.. using pc ..
Here in France almost every Network carriers are supporting LTE-A or LTE Cat. 6 (allows 300MB/s download and 50MB/s upload rates for instance) since 12/2014 i think
It's called "4G+" i don't if others countries use the same callsign

This is totally off-topic, please post your own topic in "Help" section or look at similar others topics.
I've been looking everywhere for a sub-forum for this device but XDA has not seen fit to create one yet. So, if I'm posting this in the wrong area, that's why I did it.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DUMB DECISIONS AND BY EXTENSION, YOUR BROKEN PHONE! THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE
What is this?
Basically it's the deodexed and zipalinged KDZ file in zip format so we can flash it from TWRP.
The instructions on how to root and flash TWRP can be found here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-v3-lg-stylo-2-plus-t3482169
The guy deleted his recovery.img because he was trying to get paid for it somehow or something. So here is the link for the recovery.img
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5_Tro_qGCDcMW81VUktRDh5Rms/view?usp=sharing
I did NOT include root because I'm using system-less root to get Android Pay to work.
I tried uploading this directly to XDA so no stupid mirrors however, XDA said the attachment was too large. So instead, I'm uploading this to my personal google drive. Please help me out by mirroring this for other users.

I'm not trying to generate ad revenue, I'm just trying to give back to the community. I don't need anyone to thank me because honestly, all I did was follow the instructions from:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2431204
With one exception. I used the tool here to extract all the pieces in conjunction with the above mentioned tutorial.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575
I'm typing this out while flashing it myself for the first time so let me be clear.......
THIS IS UNTESTED
Reserved
@abadasstanker69 i didn't give you the permission to share my twrp port , please remove the link.
It's not "your" anything. TWRP is open source. If mods want to remove it, they can. But I'm not taking anything down.
Hopefully a mod will come remove your profile anyway. Attempting to sell TWRP on your blog through ebay? What kinda nonsense are you trying to pull anyway? Then to have the nerve to advertise it on XDA.... without this community you wouldn't even know how to do it. You're leeching from the REAL work of REAL programmers who dedicated countless hours to develop TWRP. You're robbing from THEM. You should be ashamed
< Mod Edit: Link to blog with paid recovery file removed. Keep this off xda please. >

What's your problem it's my work and share it the way i like.
You're absolutely NOT sharing it. You're attempting to make money off someone else's work. And it's not YOUR work. It's someone else's work that you're repackaging with your name and a price tag. It's disgusting IMHO
TWRP is and always has been OPEN SOURCE! You can't call dibs on it. You ported it. Big flipping deal. Look. We already have enough info on you to take to TWRP and have them file legal action against you for trying to sell/steal/make profit from their work.
This is why MultiROM doesn't try and sell their ports. It's flipping stupid and illegal.
For anyone else reading this, since XDA's admin doesn't seem to understand what "OPEN souce" means, just PM for the recovery.img I'll build one myself tonight since it's LITERALLY typed out step by step on TWRP's website and requires ZERO talent or effort......
WTF happened to this community? We're old school members so just to let you know, we're forwarding this directly to TWRP so they can take whatever legal actions need to be taken. I hope this admin understands what this means and where this is going. I highly advise you to review your admin agreement and then look at the actual laws governing open source software. https://opensource.org/faq In the mean time, I'll be contacting Ethan Yonker (Dees Troy the ACTUAL developers behind TWRP) to let him know.
https://plus.google.com/+JamesAndersonTheStonedTanker/posts/T5JXsbVQXF5?sfc=false
To anyone else reading this, I'm sorry this got side tracked by people who don't understand even the SPIRIT of this community. I'm even more sorry that this is what this community has devolved into.
Now I'm gonna go complete this talent-less task to allow REAL open source distribution as the original XDA used to be about......
Might wanna read this from the TWRP website, especially the intellectual property part, you agreed to these terms by accessing the site and it's content.

Back to the topic.... The rom worked great. I tried it and it worked out fine. I had to enable systemless root and flash the systemless root SU binary to get root but it worked great. Now I'm gonna be working on creating a custom rom or a port. Not sure which one. If anyone is interested or has an opinion, let me know

If you can't get it to work, then don't use it. But obviously others have. Spreading lies isn't gonna help you figure it out. It DOES work.

Sorry bro, don't have t-mobile. However, MetroPCS uses T-Mobile's network so it may work out of the box for you.

I built my own version. I'm not ready to release it yet because it's got some kinks in it. It won't allow TWRP backups to complete. I don't feel like that's worthy of being released unlike that other douche bag who put it out anyway. But if you need it, PM me and I'll send you a download link

LineageOS is a free community-build aftermarket firmware release for Android 7.1 (Nougat) designed to increase the performance and reliability of your device's Android.
LineageOS is based on the Android open source project, and many people in the Android community have extra contributions. It can be used without installing any Google applications. The following link is a software package from another Android project that restores Google components. LineageOS still includes a variety of hardware-specific code, which is also slow open source code.
what works:
substratum (legacy only)
ir blaster
wireless online
Bluetooth
Cameras (films and photos) (videos and photos)
Video playback playback
Audio (recording and playing) (recording and playing)
sensor
Global Positioning System (GPS)
inbuilt root in dev. options
advanced reboot menu in dev. settings
what doesnt work:
u tell me!
installation instructions:
download and install newest twrp from here : twrp
full wipe in twrp
install rom : https://mega.nz/#!p4xyQCzA!qyNiSvFDDcLCBuHeGkxgFMVZDtb3gD6MlB7NA1Yckmo
install gapps (arm64) from here (optional)
install xposed (optional) from here
reboot
this gcam mod works with this rom
Open build.prop, make string 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' , save, reboot.
if u want to use magisk instead of inbuild root, newest magisk from here is working
its not my work , i only share it with xda its from the developer Juanan from telegram group . https://t.me/redmi5official

How come dude?
There are two roms with the same title and they both put by the same developer.
Unless they're different, one of the threads must be deleted.
I don't have to try both .
It's a matter of respect to mention the differences between the threads.

Yes of course
com.android.phone Has Stopped
Getting this error with the fresh install of this ROM.
Tried almost every solution from XDA to StackOverflow. still no luck.
Also tried the factory reset and reinstall with and without Gapps.
I also tried [ROM] LineageOS 14.1 by 王浩哲 For Redmi 5 (rosy) but same issue happened with it as well
XDA is not letting me post links so just replace _ with .
