enter the MSL after you do #*#*data*#*# then ---> LTE---->bands---->band priority---the 3 dot menu on the top right. hit edit and enter the MSL which is 000000 and you should be able to edit it there

Not everyone knows that "data" is the same as "3282".
sorry guys i have been busy. well you could try with signal check pro using the menu there to get you to there, but otherwise i would ask for a simcard just to program it.
for sprint, its *#*#DATA#*#*---->EDIT----->Enter MSL (000000)-----> grab a cookie and play!
I'm not on Sprint I have cricket. I have tried to use *#*#data#*#* but nothing happens. I would like to change my LTE band priorities. At work my MXP connects to band 17 which I get slow downloads while my nexus connects to band 4 and gets fast downloads.

I know this thread is a month old, but that's not entirely accurate.
I have Cricket and on my old phone (Nexus 6) I was able to change back and forth from band 4 to 17 and vice versa, I also had a selection of which LTE bands I could turn on and off. I had that same menu with my LG G3.
It's not on my MXP though which sucks.
You can switch bands on AT&T's network, it all depends on your phone though. It's not a network restriction.

They are are both CDMA. Everything except 4G would work. First smartphone I ever owned was a Sprint Touch Pro that I flashed to work with Verizon.

Here is the site I used to get my Sprint Touch Pro onto Verizon: http://sites.google.com/site/ppcgee.../sprint-touch-pro-on-verizon-network-tutorial Even though it was made for a Windows Mobile phone it should be easily adapted for android. As far as I know QPST should work with android. For getting your MSL a quick search on Google turned up this: http://androidforums.com/samsung-moment/14852-getting-your-msl-without-calling-sprint.html You will also need the DMU keys, Verizon's most current PRL, and possible a rom modified for Verizon.

According to GSMArena the D838 has 1800 and 2600. I haven't tried the 4G speeds yet (only just switched to a 4G SIM today) but the coverage and 3G speeds have been pretty good. I've yet to lose signal completely.

Did sprint install the Carrier Optimization on these Note 5s? Also was carrier aggregation turned ON for these phones. My says not setup or something like that.
I got my MSL and found that MSL is turned on even thought it says CA-Not Config in *#0011#. I dont think these suckers have the sprint connection optimizer.

If you are referring to the connections optimizer app, it's there under wifi settings.

No. If you go to more then go to wifi optimization.
Looks like there is something called a smart switch. that is about. Connections manager had this whole disclaimer. I dont see that anymore.
wording is a little switched around but does look like connection optimizer.
Smart switch I believe is something used when switching devices

Yes the Not 5 is capable of Sprint Carrier Aggregation. Thanks.
I do not see any option for 'Smart Switch' or anything like that under Wifi settings...I am on the Sprint Note5.. kinda trippy
##data# shows that CA is enabled, so I suppose this phone does support carrier aggregation.

Key word from what I said: was.
The option was there in more but I no longer see it.
I just put my T-Mobile SIM into my unlocked/rooted AT&T Flex2, and I can get no data at all. I live in the DC area. Mobile data is enabled.
I attempted to unlock other bands but everything just says Fail.
Can anyone assist please?
Is the APN correct? I know it's a silly question but sometimes that's the issue.
I'm retarded. Thank you.
I got one to test drive last week and used the same settings as I have on my unlocked Xperia Z3 and data worked like a charm.
can someone post the apn setting for Tmobile on H950?

The hidden band menu needs root. I haven't experienced issues with MMS/SMS, voice, or data yet. I did have an issue with my Flex and Moto E where both kept changing signal type after a thunderstorm when I was home. That issue was resolved at some point, so it was likely a tower problem.
Also NO VoLTE because T-Mobile only certifies their own phones for that function and Nexus 6 I think.

I can test T-Mobile in the Seattle market if anyone finds this useful.
I had not planned to test this for awhile but if it's something that would be useful now I can test sooner rather than later.
Did anyone get T-mobile mobile hotspot working for this phone? If so, how? thanks
i compared sprint LTE frequency band with the one deployed in my country using frequency check.com and found out they're not the same, hence i can't register on the network when i choose lte on my A9 :/
i was wondering if there's a way to edit/add the network bands i'm lacking without converting it?
Is there any method similar to this but for the A9: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61352157
i managed to run this code ##3282# which brings up the EPST menu and from there i can see what LTE band my phone is exactly running (25/26/41) and their priority 25>26>41 which is clearly not the one i'm in need right now. also i've read that it's possible to get the MSL code using a logcat but don't exactly know how to ?
folks, any help? highly appreciated.

It is build I to the ruu, just convert, it makes life easier, and data backups should be compatible.
i'm trying every kind of possibility and consider conversion as a last one.
UPDATE: i downgraded my firmware and with the help of stifilz i was able to enable DM mode, now it works like a charm :highfive: i used DFS to read LTE bands (results are attached) and they're way more than 3 i activated the band 3 which is what i'm looking for but it only remained on #6828 after reboot and didn't seem to work. i also QXDM as well but it's a lil bit tricky, you have to manually write the right numbers for your bands :/
now, can i just uncheck all the bands, since i don't really need them and leaves only one (band 3)?
after sooo much hassle, i was able to finally enable different lte bands and having them enabled permanently both on 6828 and 6829 but unfortunately it didn't seem to be working which is strange since the chipset is able to handle the band 3 with the AT&T version of the A9, why not on the sprint!!
interesting.. @syntenza you said that you're able to enable LTE Band 3 permanently, but it doesnt work?
