Error 504 when installing applications from Google Play - Blu Pure XL

I am stumped on this one. When I try to install Evernote, Google Play returns a 504 error. No matter what I do, I cannot get installed. Here is what I have tried:
Cleared cache on:
Google Play Store, Download Manager, Google Play Services. Cleared system cache
Removed google account, readded, no luck.
Tried to sideload by downloading 2 different versions of Evernote. Same result, App not installed. Tried installing from Amazon store, same result.
Nuclear option, reset device, installed as first application. Same result! From factory reset, removed any extra apps that came with the application. No luck.
I've read this could be a lollipop issue with duplicate permissions.
My question is, has anyone else been able to install Evernote? Any additional suggestions anyone can think of?
Thanks!

There are a few apps that just will not install on the Pure XL. I am waiting to see when a software update will be downloaded.

I am also unable to install Evernote.

Whats sad is that you cant contact Evernote unless you are a premium member. All this did was push me solely towards Keep. Even less chance of me becoming a premium member now. Lol

I have same issue trying to install Risk for Chromecast ... or pretty much any chromecast ready Hasbro game ... well no monopoly for my kids

You got a system update? or you are just waiting for it?

Since we have root now, you may be able to "trick" Google Play to install it by changing your Device Name within your build.prop file.
I think the entries that need editing are:
ro.build.product
ro.product.model
ro.product.device
Search XDA for full details

Need help with ICS...play/market won't open

I can't get the play/market to load or open. Additionally if I access via the web and try to download rom manager etc it says it's already on my device.....which I can't find. How can I get the play/market to load and open? I've tried multiple older version. Here are my specifics:
Xoom wifi only (US)
Android Version 4.0.3
Kernel Version 2.6.39.4 Tiamat
Mod Version 1.4.0-XOOM (WiFi)
Build Number IML 77
Please help....my tablet is pretty much only an internet browser at the moment.
another way around your problem
as far as play from google since you have browser you can go directly to market and try reinstalling if from your browser on your tablet. try loading from your browser and if that don't work there are other methods if you search through xda you can find google apps folder and load them on to your sd card and load from there I have learned that it is near imposible to ruin these tablets. hope this helps
Delete the cache of market/play and Google framework services.
Still won't work

I tried this, I still can't load Google play. Ever since acknowledging the change from Google market to play, I've not been able to load my apps page. funny thing is, it will update my apps, though page/app will not load. When I try to access it via the web, it won't load my apps page. Even though I'm logged in, it asks me to log in again, but won't allow me to log in..a script comes up to "touch/click" login, and it does nothing..using dolphin browser HD, I'll try another browser, but think it will get same results. Anyway, I've got a rooted 4.0.4 ICS Xoom.

This has happened to me last week. Basically you get your apps updated because you have enabled market apps auto update. Your issue is with market unable to load or open and sometimes with connection error. Right? Try first rebooting your router and your device.
If so, you have 2 options here only.
First, is your device rooted?
Option 1: create another gmail account and then try to add another google account on your device with the newly created one from settings / accounts and sync. If successful, before going to google play, open youtube app and login with your new account. If ok. Login with old account. Then reboot. Then go to market and open your new account. If ok, login to market using old account. And check. If ok, done. If not, option 2 is the only solution.
Option2: backup your stuff. And fully wipe factory reset your device.

You can also just delete your current Google acct and then re-add it. This works with some of the Google apps errors.
not working
well..I tried option 1. and also to remove my Google accounts then re add them. still doesn't work. I just re flashed 4.04 over 4.03, so I don't want to do a data wipe again, since it was happening before I flashed it last time as well. It seems I can get to Google play from a browser, but when I try to get to my apps from there, it will also not connect. I'm about to just put a mod on like tiamat...dunno yet
now did the wipe, still no work, then loaded EOS ROM, still not working. I can only guess I need to use another gmail account all together
I have the same problem on time with google applications.
Due to differents flash of differents ROM and Google applications
Flash the tablette with the GAPP signe:
http://goo.im/gapps
reboot and no problems
This is getting annoying...
I have done every suggestion here. wiping data, even trying EOS builds and cyanogen mod, clear cache, wipe cache, use another Google account ( I have 2). Google play app will not open. When I go there from my PC, it says app will be installed, whatever the app may be, it is not getting installed to the Xoom, even though I'm logged in. AT first, Google Play would not open, but apps would install on the Xoom when I had auto update enabled..still Google play will not play nice.
I had same issue like you. Unfortunately, the only solution to me was to factory reset my xoom. Flash rom and gapps again.
Be4 that, try rebooting your router...

Play Store broken

Hello Everyone,
First time post. I scoured through numerous posts about the Play Store unable to find one related to mine. I will give as much detail as I can. Pretty simple if you are savy with rooting.
Phone: HTC Evo 4G
ROM Installed: MazWoz-Evo-B6 (Jellybean
GoogleApps Version: gapps-JB-20121124
Have attempted other ROMS and gapps versions. Just a few. But enough to know I must be missing a step or it is just broken and no one has it running :S. I have cleared all the cache, both the Play Store app cache and in Recovery mode Cache's. I just started into this Rooting last night. Very comfortable installing different ROMS. But why is the Play Store broken on each one? I have tried installing the ROM, Booting up, shutting down and than installing Gapps. Along with installing Gapps right after the Rom install. I clear everything for fresh install of both. It is getting me no where and the internet is full of all kinds of topics related to the Play Store. But nothing that fixes this issue.
I can not get connected to the Google Play Store. Using an existing google account to log in with, it never makes it into the store. But using this step does setup the email for the phone. Maybe that will help pinpoint an idea to you guru's. I hope someone can help.
Thanks!
Maveej
first thing. ensure that your rom download and gapps download are both good downloads and not corrupt. even partially corrupt files can flash unless you used md5 checksums. But since each rom is having a problem... really looks like your gapps might be the problem...
thats something to check at least...
Play Store DB reset

Android's play store is oddly configured. Depending on your rom's tweaks, a variety of things can cause playstore issues including: LCD Density (via /system/build.prop), ro.product.model= (via /system/build.prop), ro.product.manufacturer= (via /system/build.prop), and lastly the Google Play Database file.
Sorry I can't remember the location of this file, but basically on our phones there is a database file, I believe an SQL DB. If you have lots of problems, you can try to close google play, erase cache/data to the app, then rename the db file to **OriginalNameOfFile**.BAK
open google play, and it should be fixed

KitKat & Google Cloud Print

Ever since rooting on 4.4 I have been unable to use Google Cloud Print on my phone. If I go into settings for Cloud Print everything shows up correctly. But as soon as I go into Drive, GMail, or any other application to print, it force closes instantly.
I have tried clearing data. Uninstalling it and reinstalling it. 5 different ROMs now (3 being completely stock) and still nothing. I am using PAGApps.
Is anyone else having this issue? And does anyone know of any fixes?
Thanks for the help.
There's a cloud print 2 app. Look at the banks gapps thread in themes and apps. Go to download gapps from his own link and in the listings it says new apps not on play store. It's in there. Might help your problem

Thank you for the heads up! I have it downloaded but it's not letting me install it. It's saying there's an app already installed with the same name and conflicting signature. If I uninstall Cloud Print using TiBu, it still wont let me install it.
Do you know the Cloud Print version number of Banks' app?

I didn't find a Cloudprint.apk in data/apps. So I did a search for anything related to Cloudprint and deleted it. Still wouldn't let me install the one I downloaded from Banks. So I just restored the Cloudprint.apk from TiBu (no data), rebooted my phone, and still won't install.
The one I'm currently using (from PA) is version 0.8.10. Still FC's every time I try to use it.
Anyone else have any ideas? It's still not working for me.
Google's latest update seems to have fixed the problem.

MiPad 2 - Installing Google Play Store

Hi,
I bought a new Xiaomi MiPad 2 64GB Android version but was bit disappointed when I didn't find Google Play Store in it. I tried different suggestion on the internet to install apks manually from various forums (not sure if those apk were legitimate, bit scary now when I think about it) and got play store somehow installed but none of the apps would install. It goes to the stage where you are shown the window with permission the app needs and it fails with a message.
I have restarted the tablet multiple times, tried installing many apps, uninstalled the google installer and reinstalled it but to no avail. Its very disappointing that its so difficult to get google play store on to an Androind tablet!
Has anybody got any suggestions, should I wipe off what Xiaomi provides and get a new ROM in (I haven't done custom ROM installations before)?

I Think You Have To Flash Gapps to Make Playstore Work Mate From Your Recovery ..
As Your Phone is New, You Have To Install A Custom Recovery Like TWRP to Flash Google Apps(GAPPS) ..
Check this link for That ..

You have to change the Data file system to ext4 and then reflash the OS with TWRP. Helps to have an usbOTG cable and a thumb drive with the os.zip and Supersu.update.zip on it because as soon as you reformat the data file, say goodbye to everything on the device. So backup all your stuff to a pc or what have you first. After that your Google apps will work fine. You can just download Google Services framework5.1-1743759(22), Google Account Manager5.1-1743759, Google Play Services10.0.84(x86+x86_64), and Google Play Store7.3.07 from APK Mirror and go to settings, Autostart and select the three that show up. Restart your device and you are good to go.

Making Gmail & Google Contacts work on rooted HD 10 2017

Hey guys,
If this is a duplicate please let me know, but I personally didn't find any information here before I tried a few methods to make these work.
Make Gmail Work
Convert the following apps to system apps:
Gmail
Google Play Services
Google Services Framework
Make Google Contacts Work
Disable Amazon's default contact app.
Install Google Contacts and convert it to system apps.
Download Google Contacts Sync (remember to download version 5.x for api level 22), install, and make it system.
Wipe app cache / data if needed.
Both apps mostly works, Gmail still crashes occasionally, but WAY better than before and is now usable. Edit: Gmail failed after rebooting and did not work again after that short, sweet, few minutes of working... But Contacts work pretty well.
Going through logs, looks like it's Amazon's download manager causing the crash. If anyone knows where to find a replaceable download manager let me know! Google's only supports 7.1 and up.
Good catch! Have you tried apkmirror? What's the namw of the Google's downloadmanager? I have older lg tablet(android 5.1.1) , maybe that one will work.
Nevemind, I've found it and extracted. Let me just find some file host.

Your Google Downloader doesn't work. Couldn't get the apk to install, even if I put it in the system folder manually.
Anyway, in the process I accidentally deleted the .odex file for the original download manager. If you or someone else could provide me theirs so I can fix this, I would really appreciate it. Can't download anything on the play store or amazon app store now.
@wilburblin
Have you tried oldies but goodies to get GAPPS going?

I've been running contacts for a few days now, converting to system and wiping cache isn't necessary, in my experience. I can't get gmail working stable for the life of me though. I read some discussions that said the reason why it fails is because it has a permission to auto download without a prompt (for attachments) and that Fire OS has a problem with that. I've tried running older versions of gmail, and I've rebuilt gmail with the download activity removed, tried converting gmail to system and to priv-app. No luck.
I got gmail working. It's a user app and I used appsettings module v1.15 for xposed to set orientation to force autorotate. I don't know why it worked, but it's survived many reboots now. I have all the google services installed and the Amazon email app is installed but I'm deep hibernation via rom toolbox. Hope this helps

Can you try sending yourself an email with an image and then try to open that image in gmail?
Gmail works fine for me on the Fire 10 2017 apart from crashing when opening images.

I tried to show the picture and it didn't crash. I tried the force autorotate method but failed for a few times. Then I chose not to show the picture automatically (&force autorotate) and it worked, at least for now.

Here's my experience: an embedded image is fine, an image as an attachment will crash it. i messed with this for a while, couldn't get it to work, and went back to 9folders email. It makes sense, since from what I read, the reason it crashes is because it doesn't get permissions to download attachments (because of a signature problem between gmail and download manager). I think someone already tried to replace the download manager with a google signed one and the result was a bootloop. I wonder if there is any way to give gmail root rights, so that it gets all of the permissions. Or to sign gmail with the same signature as our download manager.
