Touch Screen Problem after flashing wrong kernel on G9208 - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallo,
After flashing G9208-OJ2-Root-stock-kernel.tar on my G9208 china mobile i have touch screen issues.I release that the kernel that i flash is compatible for Taiwan firmware not for China mobile firmware.
Can someone tell me any solution because i flash the correct G9208-OJA-Root-stock-kernel.tar and the problem remains. I had update my phone on OJA 5.1.1 china mobile latest firmware before all.
Edit:I flash again the latest OJA China firmware with ODIN but the problem remains.

I had the same problem trying to root it with other methods, flash the OJ2 ROM and the G9208-OJ2-Root-stock-kernel.tar, that resolved the problem for me.

I cant flash OJ2 Taiwan rom ..... It takes FAIL message in Odin when it flashes SYSTEM...

Just one tar file, the one available from sammobile.
Just to let you know, this rom works perfect but I lost root access 3 days after I rooted it, it seems like the bootloader is not totally unlocked with this method. Think twice if you already have a successfully rooted phone, If you really don't care about rooting it go ahead.
I'm trying to find any custom rom that supports the G9208, it seems that it is the only option.

Hello hoglak
I have a 920I and was also having the same problem.
I solved the problem flashing the latest version of the rom from SamMobile site.
After flashing the rom your TWRP should work.

I had the same problem. The latest firmware for unbranded (XSA) Australia on sammobile is AOC4. I had success with using the Singapore unbranded (XSP) firmware AOD1.
Flash AOD1 with Odin then you have stock everything. You should be able to flash TWRP 2.8.6.2 with Odin and boot successfully into Custom recovery.
You can either take two options from here.
Flash CF-Root and "just root" the stock ROM - Boot into Download (again) and then flash the CF Root.
Flash a ROM or a Mod which has Root included. - My first success was Wiping with stock recovery, flashing AOD1 clean with Odin, then flashing WanamMod on top of it as it included root.
Aussie G920i.
Hope this helps.

Odin flash failed, device 3, binary 2. Help needed!

Hi,
I have a G920F, I was rooted and want to go to stock again. I have restored the device with Smart Switch, but now I am unable to flash any other rom. I have downloaded 3 different roms from Sammobile and get sw. check failed device 3 binary 2 at everyone. The current rom is form Italy Wind the latest OI9. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, probably you trying to install oldest firmware 5.0.1, download the latest firmware and try again. You are with 5.1, right? This error on odin happens, because you cannot downgrade the firmware. Hope this helps.
I think you can not downgrade even if it is the same Android version.
If it detects you are on a newer bootloader it will give you that error.
What I belive you can do is to extract the bootloader (sboot) and modem from the .tar file and flash ONLY the system through Odin.
Don't know exactly how to do that because I haven't done it but I think that would do; you will have to search and read my friend.
You will have the stock firmware but with latest bootloader and modem.
Hope this helps.
Note: As far as I know this will work if its the same Andorid version; you can not have Android 5.0.2 with 5.1.1 bootloader.

Hi,
I have tried what you said, but no succes. The firmware was already recovered with smart switch so the bootloader is the latest.

But did you try to flash without the bootloader and modem?

Help with flashing stock rom

Hi guys,
I've got a SM G9208, which came from Taiwan.
Yesterday I tried to install TWRP 2.8.7.2 and when it booted, it is non responsive, I couldn't press anything and couldn't swipe where it says swipe for modification at the bottom. This is flashed through the TWRP manager thingy.
So I thought i might as well go back to stock recovery because I can't seem to boot into the phone at all with this recovery. So I downloaded G9208ZMU2COK8_G9208CHM2COK8_G9208ZMU2COK8_HOME.tar.md5 from the sammobile website thinking that thats the one i needed, which turns out to be a mistake. Now my phone's got a chinese firmware, instead of the taiwan firmware. I tried to flash the taiwan firmware G9208ZTU1BOH2_G9208ZZT1BOH2_BRI, but it says sw rev check fail device 2 binary 1. I think this is because the bootloader for the china one is newer than the taiwan one?
Does anyone know how I can install the taiwan rom now?
also, i've tried flashing TWRP 2.8.60, 6.1, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2 all to no avail.
I couldn't use my sim at all previously, but then i flashed the taiwan modem.bin and at least I have signal now.
Thanks!

Flash @travis82 kernel here
i got this error
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file '/usb-otg/c9000_HKROM_KERNEL_v3.3'
Checking for MD5 file...
This package is for "c9ltechn" devices; this is a c9lte
Maybe if I get enough requests I'll wip up a C9lte kernel for the indian and tw variant. Depends on how many need/want it.
