Viper4android for Marshmallow - HTC One A9

Hey after finally getting rooted i've seen on internet this stuff ...
http://androiding.how/viper4android-marshmallow-nexus-5/
According that this link work for Nexus 5 but it can also work on our A9 ..
Personally i've tested myself but impossible to get this working..
It ask me everytime yo install driver than reboot ..
If anyone else wanna try it and get it working just share your method

I've been trying myself to no avail. I get the same thing as you; Viper prompts me to install the driver every time I launch it.

Yeah .. it seems that this device is not supported by developpers... this device is quietly interesting..
Maybe soon someone will make some good stuff

Did you try the V4A from Xtremusic zip?
V4A worked like a charm on my G4 MM but one version was doing this driver thingy, sometimes another music mod can block V4A
Also it needs SELinux on permissive for MM, it's the only and unique way to make it work

Yes i've already test it. Maybe it doesn't work because the a9 got 64bit system ..

@Will972
What happend if you install Viper4android?

G4 MM is also 64bits, just wait till I grab an A9 so I try it.
Did you try this solution:
I had problems getting this to work. In the end I got it to work by setting linux to permissive using selinux then unchecking nu player in dev options and then installing the apk in the zip, installing the driver and rebooting.

Mate it's working :laugh::laugh::laugh:
At last I boosted the speaker for ringtones!!! (though it's just about 15% more)
So you have to:
-flash the Stock Viperaudio zip,
-install in your rom
-reboot to install driver
-flash NEON universal zip
Voila ça marche

I currently use stock 5.2 and flashed a separate atmos zip and neon driver. Just flash stock and then driver afterwards. No need to wipe or reboot other than cache. I used the Viperatmos version at first and I believe that one u do not have to flash the driver as it is already in the package.
If anyone can get xhifi workong as well thatd be awesome. I went through his zips and it installs the same as FX but just can't get it off asking for driver to be installed. One point I had it working and not FX but can't get that again. I've tried just about every different variation of installing and no dice

It work flawlessly now .. i can now put more bass bon my music

It's hard to tell really....it shows in notifications that it's off but is on in settings. I vaguely can tell a difference when switching boom sound modes but not sure if it's real or placebo though. To be honest, I couldn't tell the difference even before flashing viper lol

Viper4Android working on Note 5

For those of you that don't know Viper4Android is the probably the best sound mod you can do on any android phone, I can confirm that it works on the Note 5 as my listening experience in the car has greatly improved
Prerequisites
-Must be rooted
-Skyhigh or arter97 kernel flashed
-If no custom kernel is flashed selinux must be set to permissive using the selinux app found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485
-Download Viper4Android from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
Steps
1. Download and install this zip through recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...achment.php?attachmentid=3470840&d=1442036930 (Credits to Critical Detox for finding it)
2. Launch Viper4Android and install the driver and reboot
2a. I highly recommend using this IRS. http://d-h.st/VBM
That should be it to get it working, S6 users have commented that you have to freeze a couple of apps for it to work but I can confirm that's not the case. If you have any questions or need suggestions feel free to ask

I have had this working on every device, previously the S6 using a flashable zip.
Now I cannot get it to process when clicking on driver status it usually says "yes".
I am using a deodexed tmobile rom with Noble kernel. The SELINUX changer says I am permissive but viper4android doesnt want to work.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Interesting. Are you running in compatible mode, then?
I envy all of you for getting to use Viper, I'm trying my best to hold out until I can try Samsung pay beta/release which ever comes first to me then I'll decide to root only after.
I've been wondering this for a while now. I noticed in the OP, there was a choice to use a custom kernel or stay with the stock one. Obviously, we need root to get Viper working BUT do we really need a custom kernel to root 5.1.1. On the Note 5? I'm asking because BOTH of my cars miss Viper from my Note 4 and I'm hearing the current Kernels are causing a few issues with the Note 5, thanks!

You can root using the Noble Kernel which is pretty much a stock kernel and then use the selinux app to change the kernel to permissive.

Thanks for the reply, Adolfo. Are you having any issues with the Noble Kernel? People are reporting things like battery drain, rebooting and or loss of certain features, Netflix not work, etc. I miss Viper but I would like to know that my phone would be fully functional after root. Also, it seems as if only a few Kernels work with the new firmware that was released yesterday.
Keeps getting more complicated. haha.

While I appreciate the help, Brava, I was responding to Adolfo's recommendation of using the Noble kernel due to it being close to stock. My question was if he's having any issues with that Kernel.
I've used Viper since it's inception so I'm fully aware that it has nothing to do with any of the aforementioned symptoms.
Thanks though.

[Guide] Viper4Android on Nougat/Oreo [TW & AOSP]

V4A on Nougat/Oreo
Before starting:
-Make sure you have TWRP!
-Viper4android doesn't seem to work on certain roms, but there should be no problem with the more popular ones and it also works on all AOSP roms.
-Always have a nandroid backup, in case something goes wrong or you just want to uninstall viper4android!
How to install?
1. Download audio_effects.conf file and with a root explorer replace the one in /system/etc
2. Uninstall or Freeze "Sound Alive" (for AOSP "MusicFX") with Titanium Backup.
3. If you have magisk, flash Viper4Android Magisk in recovery. For supersu use regular Viper4Android zip.
(When it asks to install the driver, then just wait.
If seems to be frozen just don't touch it and let it do it's job.)
Enjoy!
thanks. works as it sounds

If you don't have Sound Alive on your rom then just flashing the Viper4android zip should do the trick.
But if you have the annoying Sound Alive, then the procedure is exactly the same, but then flash this zip.

I would try another version of it after removing the current one by booting to recovery and running the install script.
The one that worked best for me included both atmos 6.5 and viperx in one module, though I forget what it was named exactly within, magisk. You can find it by reading the descriptions if nothing else.

Is it a major difference in sound when using dolby? The sound in my u11 is ok from the speakers but it wasn't what i expected.
It really depends on how you are listening, what version you get working, and your subjective experience.
For me, using the version I described above, with a pair of Sony MR1BT (quite old now) there was a very significant positive difference. I could only get them to work through Bluetooth though.
I imagine that while using the speakers instead of headphones the positive change would be diminished significantly
