CM13 Bluetooth audio routing - Samsung Galaxy Ace 3

Hi,
Marshmallow running very well on my gt-7275r thanks to Kotzir's great work. [emoji2]
I have found that my car blue tooth audio (Renault radiosat) is behaving strangely.
- phone functions work fine (inc. Bluetooth mic/audio)
- audio functions seem to work fine except that audio stream does not go to radiosat (bt device)! The audio always plays through the phone speaker. Have tried this with 3 different music apps, all with same result. I can use radiosat controls to start/stop music, but the audio will always start on the phone speaker.
I've a logcat to attach as soon as I'm at my PC. Also, I will try it on another Bluetooth audio device to see if I get a similar result.

Ohh .....

Kotzir has worked his magic. In 20151122 build bluetooth audio streams to bluetooth as it should. I do notice the odd break in the stream when the phone's processor is busy... i.e. when switching apps, etc. Time (and a long car journey) well allow me to see if this is better than things were under cm12.1. I'm wondering if anyone has any hints about config that would eliminate those tiny breaks when playing bluetooth audio...I'm guessing that greenifying and getting rid of any processor hogs is the best way, but I'm open to suggestions.

[Q] Nexus S bluetooth problems

Hey guys
Strange issue here. I paired my phone with my car through Bluetooth to make and receive calls using the car audio system. It works well.
However, if I fire Google Navigation, I can't here the spoken instructions through either the phone speaker or the car speakers.
I was not expecting navigation audio to be routed through Bluetooth audio, but I did expect the navigation instructions to come out of the phone speaker, as it does on the nexus one or the vibrant both running Android 2.2.
Is anybody else having this issue?
Thanks

did you flash a new kernel or anything because the kernel in the dev thread is known to break bluetooth
if it does this stock out of the box try doing a system restore and then take it back if its still acting up because bluetooth should turn on
yea i used the pkg one that had SU etc on it. Suppose Ill have to flash back to stock arg.
just so peeps know with the bt issue flashing this fixed

Bluetooth doesn't stream audio to car - what's your experience
I've got a Ford Edge with the new Ford MyTouch/Sync system.
The Nexus S connects to the Bluetooth just fine; makes and receives calls perfectly. It will also connect to the Bluetooth Audio Stream for music playback, but won't play the audio over the car's speakers. Also, sometimes it connects, holds the connection for just a few seconds and then disconnects. My SGS and Nexus One work as expected, as does the iPhone, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the car.
Seems like a bug in the NS to me.
I'm curious if others are streaming audio/music to their auto's BT system without issues?
It would be especially nice to know what anyone else with a new Ford/Lincoln is experiencing, but I'd also like to compile a list of what cars work and what don't.
I'm going to have to find some other BT device that I can test the stream on to see if my phone works with it or not. Maybe my Nexus One dock? I've never used that to stream audio even with the Nexus One.
In terms of troubleshooting my problem, I've already rebooted the phone and the car, un-paired and re-paired the phone with the car.
I've got a Mazda RX8 R3 and the NS will pair with the in-built car BT but drops the connection after a few minutes. It then refuses to connect again unless I re-pair, then a few minutes later it drops and we're back to square one.
The car's in-built BT worked fine with my HTC Desire, Hero, iPhone 3G and Blackberry 9700 so I'm guessing the Nexus S has a Bluetooth issue.
Mine works fine on my aftermarket Sony receiver.
having issues with bluetooth audio too, stream keeps breaking every now and then. Any fixes?
I've only streamed to the car stereo and had no issues. The phone is only about 10cms away.
Haven't tried my BT headphones yet, maybe range is the issue.
*On original ROM.

tried placing the phone right next the the BT reciever and same problem. Only tried this once, maybe I'll try rebooting the phone.
no problem here
using Bionix 1.2
You're lucky, I can't even get BT music streaming to work with my car. No other BT devices to check with besides my Nexus One dock, which has no speakers.
BT works great for the phone, though, to make and receive calls.
Problem with Bluetooth
I cant get to work bluetooth on Nexus S.
When i enable it and try to send something from SGS to Nexus S it says me "This tranfer was canceled by the user" (Nexus S)
SGS says "Remote device rejected your request"
When i try send something from Nexus S, but use not function Send, i use function Bluetooth - it says me "The application Bluetooth Share (process com.android.bluetooth) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I tried factory reset, wipe cache, tried flash any other roms, but got NOTHING helpt me. I have this problem on 2 phones (2xNS).
Can someone give me files of BlueTooth share? (com.android.bluetooth)
That's an interesting problem you have. Mine did the same thing transfering from my computer to my NS. I just tried it again when I read your post (to make completely sure what the error was) and it has automagically fixed its self.
Well, seems i need a file \system\app\bluetooth.apk

Playing music through Mono Bluetooth Headset

I just bought a bluetooth headset today. Just a simple Mono one. I cant get my phone to play music through it for some reason. It will work fine for phone calls though. I can get it to play music through my laptop so I dont think the headset is incapable of playing music through it. Anyone try playing music through bluetooth yet?
Its this one here...
http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-M100-R-Bluetooth-Headset/dp/B003XDU8OO
I'm not sure it can be done natively by the phone, I stumbled across an app which might be worth a try for you, I can't post links but if you search the market for BTmono you should find it, there's a free version on there.

What are the steps you take to play the music on the M100R?
In the HTC player you can choose which output device you want to use...
In Standard it is "HTC Sensation" - click on it when headset is connected and it should showup there...
M100R is capable of "Headset V1.1 (HSP)" bluetooth profile - so it should work...
- mwie -
Oh yes I found it! When playing music you hit menu, then go to select player and it will show you devices. Problem now is that when I select the bluetooth device nothing happens. I will select the device, click done, and then if I go back into that setting the phone is still selected. Not sure why its not letting me output through bluetooth :-/
Check the Bluetooth settings when connected - maybe you need to activate Audio streaming there...!?

[Q] A2DP w/CM7 and G2x, I have to be doing it wrong?

I've been running CM7 nightlies on my Nook Color for months, and finally took the plunge this week with my G2x. Dummy me for not doing it much sooner. Running the current stable release, 7.1.0.1.
Question is I'm trying to get audio over the bluetooth in my car to work, but nothing. I haven't found any setting in the phone to enable A2DP, does such a setting exist? Is there an apk or something to install?
I've searched, and most of what I've found indicates it just works with bluetooth on. I suspect there's something with my car's bluetooth that doesn't play nice with music over audio.
Thanks for any and all assistance.

Are you sure your car supports a2dp? Some just support headset functions. You don't really "enable" a2dp, you pair the phone to the car's bluetooth (settings->wireless->bluetooth). When the phone detects that it is connected to an a2dp device, it should send audio to it automatically.
Turn off wifi calling. Some say they have problems with it on.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I've had a2dp not work on my phone a couple times, but simply disconnecting the bluetooth device, turning off and back on bluetooth on the phone, then re-connecting solved the problem.
I think it's just my car stereo. I've got a 2011 vehicle with bluetooth calling, but it doesn't seem to kick in with bluetooth audio no matter what combination of BT/Wifi/Calling I use.
Thanks for the insight guys.
Sorry to hear that. Was it working on stock roms?

Nope, never had any sort of bluetooth streaming audio in my car. The bluetooth phone works great, but nothing else. I've tried Pandora, the stock Music app, the Google Music beta app, iHeart radio and Subsonic. Nada.

Best Free Music Player that doesn't hiccup on local media?

One of the quirks of our idol 3 is that when playing music from sd card it occasionally hiccups which can be very annoying. I'm told that Poweramp has the ability to "adjust audio priority" and get around this issue. I'd like to know if there are any free players that can also get around this issue? It's VERY annoying in the car both for music and audiobooks.
i listens to songs everyday to and back from work but yet to hear stuttering with default player. could it be sd card?
saw the other thread your on bluetooth. havent tried that yet.

It may be a Bluetooth issue. I had the exact same issue with my OnePlus One when it was connected to Bluetooth on my Pioneer FH-X700BT stereo in my car. That is a good description of the audio playback "hiccuping". I actually have never tried using an Aux line from the audio jack to this same stereo, but I don't recall it skipping during playback on headphones, but I don't use headphones much either. I have an Aux cable at home. I'll try it later or maybe tomorrow and let you know what I find.
Just found this on Reddit about the same thing happening to others using Galaxy Note 4 and other phones when using Bluetooth as well.

I use MixZing for static MP3's and I like it. I use Pandora One for streaming audio and love it. Listen everyday. Speaking of Pandora, they just updated their app this weekend and they returned the lock screen widget! I think it was not included on the lockscreen within Lollipop? My KitKat phone had and still has it.

Interesting.. I have the same unit in my car and have experienced this as well. I noticed it would do this with my LG Volt when streaming Spotify on BT. I haven't really tested it with this phone yet so I'm not sure if the issue will still be there. I'll have to check it out.
I read some articles indicating you can either 1) keep screen on or 2) keep wifi off to prevent the skip. Something about bluetooth priority dropping while in sleep mode.....now they may be on to something...the battery saver I use doesn't keep wifi on all the time but it does occasionally turn it on to look for familiar hotspots to connect to....it's possible my skips are occuring when wifi is coming on.....another user reported calls had issues as well on bluetooth when wifi was on.
I listen to media on my sd card through headphones and speakers and I'm still noticing the stuttering when WiFi is off. I have noticed that it's a lot less frequent after the update though.
I use n7player, and what I found out about it amazes me.. The actual sound is better with this app than any other on stock rom, and I tried over 20 players including poweramp, shuttle (similar sound q with no folder search in free ver), equalizer+, google music, jbl music app and all the apps you can find in google play store from 0 to 100 in top section..
The menu is intuitive with name chose method, and also looks nice.. Features like equaliser, play on when headphones plugged in, etc are also here..

Interesting. I'll have to experiment with this a little. I used N7Player for awhile a couple of years ago, but I didn't like the excess of it and all the files it left strewn in every audio directory I had. Mostly, I use Music Folder Player Full and have most of the time over the last few years. It's clean, simple, to the point. What it doesn't offer, I don't want, anyway. But I don't think I've compared audio quality between different apps.
I may install Viper 4 Android on a different phone and see what that does. That's not a player, of course.
This phone + viper4 + music app in your choice is a win combo.. Just wondering if we ever get viper4

I've flashed installable zip's of viper4android on some of my other devices....as long as you take a backup first there shouldn't be any issues.
Viper 4 A works on idol3, before that you have to change build.prop lines, selinux to permissive and istall busybox.
EDIT : Now can used without selinux set to permissive, just flash the zip trough recovery

I had this problem with my OnePlus One device and the only thing that completely fixed the "hiccuping" was to go to Bluetooth and disable "Phone", only having "Media" selected. It's like it was receiving interference from the phone via bluetooth.

[SOLVED] Radio sound doesn't obey Android sys, Bluetooth audio during phone calls...

Had anyone had the following issues:
1. With the radio app only, the app doesn't seem to allow another audio stream to play when it is playing. So, if you're listening to the radio and Waze wants to announce navigation, the radio mutes but the other stream doesn't play. Other apps that play audio, like Vanilla Music, will "duck" (reduce volume slightly) to allow Waze to announce.
2. Radio app will not release audio stream, period. So if you're playing the radio and you start another music app, the radio stream wins.
3. With my phone paired, I cannot hear any phone call audio when making a call. Not sure if the other person can hear me.
Edit 25-Sept-2016: The other person can hear me fine, but I cannot hear them. Tried both a Moto G w/ CM13 and a stock Nexus 4. Both behave the same.
A Bluetooth audio stream initiated on the phone WILL play via Joying. This issue only seems to affect phone calls.
I'm on JY1.90.
UPDATE 13-Jan-2017:
The Joying update from December 2016 fixes the radio not releasing the audio stream: https://www.carjoying.com/Joying-blog/42.html
The Bluetooth phonecall issue is solved. The problem was that I was using the wrong connector on my Jeep head unit. This issues stumps me a bit. The second connector is basically identical to the first connector, but it appears to only route the FL and FR speakers, leaving out the RL RR speaker wires completely. We know that the phone in Joying only works in the FL speaker, so somehow the Jeep amp must be using the rear speakers as inputs instead of the fronts? I don't know. But if I use the other connector (the one marked 'amp' in this photo), Bluetooth calling works.

1. Thanks, I will try a different navigation app. This is only a problem with the radio app. Mixed function works fine with Vanilla Music (open source music player)
2. If I am playing a mp3 app, and then start the radio app, the radio app wins (expected) but the odd thing is that the mp3 app (Vanilla Music) does not pause, the progress bar will continue to increase and it continues to play. It is like the radio app doesn't properly notify the system that it is playing.
If I am playing the radio app, then start a music player, radio still wins.
3. Might be my phone. I use CM13, but this phone worked fine with my stock Jeep HU and with my Ford with SYNC.
