By default the Tmobile Note 5 N920T has the VOLTE enabled.
You can find the volte settings by clicking PHONE and MORE
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Does the HTC One A9 support VoLTE/Band 12/WiFi Calling on T-Mobile US?
So the documentation says yes but I am yet to see band 12 in lte discovery. Just turned on logging to keep an eye on it

Just confirmed band 12

I have seen both band 4 and 12. I don't see the options for VoLTE and WiFi-Calling though.

They are in phone settings. Both work perfectly for me.
Both show for me. They are listed under Mobile Data.

Thanks all. I chatted with HTC support and they told me that's carrier feature and it's not available on unlocked version...
They're wrong. I have an unlocked HTC One A9 and VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling both work. I would either try a new sim card or factory reset the phone.

When you first insert the SIM card and boot up you should get a screen that allows selection of your carrier. I believe that the result of choosing the carrier (TMO in this case) is to install or enable support for carrier-specific features. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have enabled tethering for me but wifi and voLTE seem to work.

I have a feeling I know the answer to this, but is there any way to enable VoLTE on the unlocked version, notably on the Rogers network in Canada?
Thanks

Ok thanks. That would be a yes on all of those (as it worked on my GS7 quite well) so is it just an option in the settings? If so I can't find it..?

Settings-->More-->Mobile network-->VoLTE calls. Enable that. If LTE stays connected when making a call you have VoLTE.

Thanks but that's what I originally feared: there is no VoLTE option anywhere in there..? I had done a search too and nothing pops up.
Rummaging through the internet, I found an article saying the unlocked version (mine) would NOT have VoLTE. No sure how accurate that was.

Are you connected to Wind by any chance? I don't think that network has volte yet. I think Rogers purchased them.
No, I'm on Rogers and I can confirm I had VoLTE before on my Galaxy S7, so it's neither the network or my account the issue.

Very weird. Maybe ask your carrier to check provisioning for your device. What bands does your carrier use for VoLTE?
it should be supported bu carrier it self , not only the phone ! check with them !
Well after some investigating, I have an answer: Rogers only support VoLTE on Apple, LG and Samsung devices...
This is really unfortunate but it's one last thing missing from the Honor 8 to make it my daily driver. It's an excellent device and I was very impressed for the price tag, but not having wireless charging, VoLTE and 4k video made me realize how much I actually use it.
Thanks for the help guys!

Anyone using the Honor 8 on US Tmobile and having issues with VOLTE? I see the setting is set but I don't get VOLTE when I make a call, it drops to 4G and no web browsing is available because data speed drops.
I stopped using VoLTE awhile back, I have an Honor 8 [Emui 5] and I have used T-Mobile for a very long time.

So you do NOT get VOLTE? What FW version are you on?
Has Huawei/Honor indicated any support for Wifi calling in future updates?
I get VOLTE on Honor 8. FRD-L04 model. I'm stock rooted EMUI 4.1.

It says 4GLTE while I'm on a call in the status bar.
VoLTE works great on T-Mobile for my Honor 8.
Honor 8 T-mobile has issues with VoLTE. When you call another Tmobile, it makes call continously for 15 to 18 times. I stopped using VoLTE.
works, no only if they can send and update to get wifi calling working

I'm using my FRD-04 on metro pcs and voLTE works fine for me. Not sure if this helps.

I am using TMobile and Honor 8 EMUI 5. Yes, I have VoLTE turned off now as enabling it fails to call other TMobile numbers.
Is there any disadvantage over turning off VoLTE? What do I lose?

That's bizarre. I have no issues with that.
One disadvantage would be if you're in a band 12 area. The phone will have to drop to the old network to make a call. The old network may not have as good a signal.
Hold the power button until the device hard reboots. This fixes weird call issues for me.
so... im on ATT.. i have a OP3 and when i switched to omnirom 8.1 . all of a sudden my VOLTE and VOWIFI started working... but of course when i upgraded to OP6 VOLTE went away with the same sim. if i pop the sim back into my op3 with omni, boom volte works and i can make HD calls. but on stock op6 its a no go. i have seen the threads where u can root and enable it . but i dont know how exactly that works. if u can do that with root. why cant oneplus enable it on there stock rom? how can omnirom make it work but not oneplus? and switching to something like tmobile is not a option for me..

Yes, you can enable it with root/magisk and magisk module called VoEnabler. HD calls work fine on ATT once you have this installed.
Only 1+ could answer why they don't enable this out of the box. Pretty frustrating.

I thought I saw a setting under the AT&T settings (SIM1) that said to to use VoLTE whenever possible. Does this not enable it?

Usually it won't even be an option if ur using att on a OP.
My OP6 doesn't have that option with AT&T, but it does with T-Mobile. I tried the VoEnabler module and now I see WiFi calling and VoLTE as options with AT&T.

Hmmm. Maybe the ROM I'm using has both baked in as I see both options - and I'm on AT&T.
Can anyone confirm working T-Mobile VoLTE and WiFi calling in Philadelphia area with the 8? I'm looking buy the 8 directly from OnePlus, but I'm seeing conflicting reports of VoLTE and WiFi calling NOT working properly.
Thanks.

Happy to help
A little heads up though to get anything other than WiFi working I did have to go into the SIM settings and turn on mobile data as well as enable VoLTE and VoWiFi, not sure if that was related to activating it on release day or because it's the global model on T-Mobile (didn't really look into it since it was just flipping 3 settings then everything just worked).
