camera app for tab with autofocus?

Does anyone know a camera app that uses the full screen of the tab?
With the integrated camera app not using autofocus it is mostly useless to me since i cant read any text i photograph.
I tried several other apps. They all use the autofocus and it works great, but they dont utilize the full screen of the tab.
The camera app in JM6 features touch-to-focus, and I have no problems making photos of text. Maybe i could post the apk + odex files, for testing on stock firmware.
Yes, the app works fine, its me that didnt function correctly.
You just have to hold the button down, it will autofocus and beep when done.
Thanks very much for thay info now alsi i Focus.

Another strong user of Vignette here.
I posted a topic on the use of Vignette over the stock camera App.
Vignette has so much more to offer and one special mention has to go with 'Zoom'. As you all know the default camera has no zoom but id you use Vignette it uses a very clever 'live crop' tool that works very much like a zoom.
An added benefit is you get to see the surrounding area you are cropping out of the shot..... AND the shot taken is so, so much better than the default camera App.
Much greater detail, cleaner, sharper focus and better colours.
Next is the settings..... there is an absolute MAMMOTH of settings to choose from.
I have one customized that gives me an 'ND Filter' at a touch of a button.
In my experience, if you're looking for the most options & filters, then Vignette is the way to go. But if you're looking to take the best possible "normal" photos, Camera360 is tops for that.
I don't know what it is, but Camera360 shots ALWAYS are clearer & much more detailed/cleaner looking in comparison shots against Vignette.

I must confess, although I have great admiration for Vignette, Camera360 Ultimate definitely does have some very good settings.
Of particular value I find the 'Tilt-Shift' to be fantastic. I also like the focus settings with it's 'Manual Focus' where you can focus on a subject then move the camera to another subject to throw the focus out.
So, my recommendation for photography would be Vignette & Camera360 Ultimate for taking the shot and Picsay Pro to post edit for even better image processed results.

[Q] bad photo results with google camera app?

Hi
I tried to take a photo for a white wall with flash in dark room.
What made me feel bad with google camera app is there are two area divided on the photo shown in the attachment
Meanwhile, the stock camera app was just fine as normal.
I'm using opo 64g with blisspop 1.4, any idea?
Thanks
I've never liked the Google Camera anyway, the stock one is as good as can be for normal users anyway.

Bro, you should never attach you're emotional well being to a camera app. You can never give a truly objective GPlay Store review if you do this. I would think that by hanging your emotions on a camera app would just be a determinant to your health in general.
It's a known issue when you make photos with flashlight with the Google Camera.
You can turn off the flashlight...
After many camera app testings, Camera FV5 rocks. Of course full version.
Even had problems with stock camera, got pixelated lines when i recorded video.
In FV5 no problems.
Good luck.

[Completed] Google Camera Bug

Since I've been using using Google camera as my default camera app I've noticed that when taking selfies it brings a mirror effect to the photo taken. I compared this with my sister's iphone and I noticed that problem! I see no option for reversing that effect, is there any alternative?

Google Camera ported app on OP5T

As some of you know the Google Camera app with HDR On is great to shot low light pictures. However OP5 users as myself aren’t as lucky when using the modded Google Camera app as as users from other devices.
With OP5 we have bugs that seem to be applicable only to our case: touch to focus not working along HDR & dots pattern issue visible when you zoom in certain pictures shot with the modded camera.
Therefore I would like to ask for a favor to the first OP5T owners:
Download and install this modded camera app (I pick this version because it’s simple without tons of settings)
Test if touch to focus work when HDR is enabled and if the picture is saved (do not confuse touch to focus with touch to change main point of exposure)
Shot some pictures with low light
Feedback in this thread
If someone want to try one of the last versions of the app, then you can download it from here (shout out to Kisakuku).
The last modded version as per today 21st November is "MGC_5.1.016_7.0+C2API_v.1.3a_AllinOne.apk", but as I said the new new versions contain lot of settings that make it really time consuming to find the appropriate ones for each device.
That’s why in the OP I posted just the last version of Google Camera app with the minimum edits needed to get the HDR feature working on any Android 7.1.1 / Snapdragon 835 phones.
Yeah I dl "MGC_5.1.016_7.0+C2API_v.1.3a_AllinOne.apk"
No working focus touch
The picture is saved
They both seem pretty bad but I'm not an expert.

Are those 2 pictures that you uploaded shot with HDR On? Which settings are you using?
In OP5 depending on the combination of settings used in the app touch to focus can work or not work, but usually it’s hit and miss so it can stop working randomly.
Do you notice small dots when you zoom in on the pictures shot with GoogleCam and HDR On?
I just would like to know if OP5T has the same bugs with the ported GoogleCam has the same bugs that we have on OP5.
To make it more clear on which version and settings to use:
Please test this most recent version: https://drive.google.com/open?id=149yvCKyk2F75z_snuSjbivKF5PiWtkT9
with these settings from the screenshots: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74417844&postcount=1215
In "Advanced" settings, enable HDR+ control right at the top!
Afterwards restart the camera app (completely swipe it away from recent apps), restart it and set the HDR+ toggle to "HDR+ Enhanced".
It is also important to get some shots in daylight, as the OP5 had issues with a constantly visible dot pattern in light areas.
Also please do not upload the shots directly through the forum, as they get downsampled and compressed. Use an imagehoster like abload.de for example, or even Google Photos.
Of course it is even better to additionally post a similar shot you took with the stock camera app, so we get a better picture of how this mod works on the OP5T.
Thanks for testing!

Seems gcam's got a tendency towards a cooler white balance..same thing happens on the Essential phone. Which would you say best matches reality, color-wise?
I don't know about color but the OP is suffering from pretty major loss in detail. There's a couple of spots of light creeping through that's clearly visible in the GCam but not so much in the OP. The OP is also suffering from a lot of graininess... the top left corner next to the suitcase is a good example.

Yes, all settings are as mentioned in #5. I don't believe Touch to Focus is working, all it's doing is changing point of exposure (although I've never used TTF before so I could very well be wrong). Also the post-processing is incredibly quick with HDR+ Enhanced enabled. Coming from a Nexus 6p where it used to take ages, I can't tell if the OPT5T is just that fast or the HDR+ is just not working on the GCam app.

You could set the processing to medium or super high to see if it makes a difference in speed.
Should take much longer on the highest setting.

Ah you're right, setting it to super high did take a long time. Not a whole lot of change in the end result, but yeah.

How else do you focus if not by touching exactly where you want the camera to focus?!?

One more question, I found a thread from MickyFoley, maybe you could try this out for him (and me and I suppose lots of others)!
quote MickyFoley:
Dear owners of an OnePlus 5T and maybe 5 too,
please grant me an answer to a really important question: Is the Camera2-API bug fixed for the OP5T or is it still valid and OnePlus didn't do anything against it?
Please do following:
Download Open Camera > Go to settings > Scroll down > Switch on Camera2-API > Cover the rear camera with your hand > Read the values at the very top of your screen:
• If ISO 799 and 1/16,7 is still here: Nothing was fixed. Please leave a reply.
• If values differ from those values (ISO 799 1/16,7) OnePlus finally fixed the Camera2 API. Please also leave a reply.
Thanks in advance.

Nokia 7 plus GCam mod for Android P (9.0) Dev Preview

Greetings fellow 7 plus users!
I've seen some requests here and (mostly) on Nokia community forum for a working GCam port on Nokia 7 plus Android 9.0 Developer Preview, which is a pretty fair phenomenon, since the stock Nokia camera is still a bit unpolished (ridiculously high exposure and lack of shadows for me). While there weren't 100% working ports, today I found a nearly perfect version on a GCam port repository website (URL: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/). I tried many apks, but this was the single one in which I couldn't find any major bugs. Also worth mentioning that portrait mode and HDR+ works fine as well. There is also well-functioning portrait and slow-motion mode. The only minor bug is a small "5 second burst" pop-up text always visible in normal camera mode, but that is an acceptable compromise in exchange for the working functions. Also, sometimes the photos are a bit brighter than they should be. I guess it requires some tinkering in the settings, but I didn't have too much time to actually find out what causes it. As soon as I find the fix for it, I'm going to update the post.
C R E D I T :
The port was made by @fu24 based on @Arnova8G2 's port. Colossal thumbs up for them.
P H O T O S :
Also, I attached 3 sample photos. The first one is a normal image in Auto-mode taken with the stock Nokia camera app, the second is also a normal photo in Auto-mode taken with the GCam mod app, while the third is a portrait-mode shot. As I said, the brightness is a bit too much, but the details are fantastic. Hint: it's worth taking a look at the sky and the reflections on the car when comparing the two images.

I think maybe someone wants to try to use the second back camera. You can switch lens with the "Toggle back camera ID".
But I can't guarantee that it is suitable for Nokia 7 Plus. I must explain that I am just a beginner with limited ability. I really don't have the ability to fix other problems.
To use the second back camera, if the phone does not even report all cameras through the Camera2 API ( Includes second back camera ) (use Camera2Test app to verify your device info). You need to install the zoomfix module.
I tried that option, but it resulted in force close. :/ The highlight/shadow saturation options might refine the photos though, I'm going to try them later today.
Edit: Tried it. Increasing both value made just the perfect photo.
Also, unfortunately I can't install zoomfix due to the lack of bootloader unlock possibility.
I posted in another thread what I probably should've posted here, but I didn't see this thread until later.
I think the 7 Plus has the same camera sensor as the X4 (based on research and sensor data).
Here's the variants that work best for our sensor. I'm thinking you may have luck with the following versions of the Google camera:
This version is excellent in low-light and general photography. This is the best version as far as noise and color accuracy go, it's superb. It's also very easy to set up. Simply set your desired HDR+ quality, and that's it.
And this second version I use as a backup, because sometimes the other camera port will drop shutter speeds indoors for better lowlight performance.
If I'm right about our sensors being identical, you should have good results. The lens on the 7 Plus is even better than the X4, so I'm excited to see what images can be captured. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be completely Android P compatible (of course, since it's just a dev preview). Slow-mo crashes the app, and sometimes portrait too, but other than that it's a working version with nice results.

Gotcha; that worries me for once P lands on my device. Stock vs. the Google camera ports is no contest, and I don't see that changing. Good luck with the 7 plus.

It's not working, the Portrait mode is not capturing the bokeh effect. When the motion is on, after taking snap the app gets crashed.
