Is there a way to port the track id from x10 to other android phones?

I would like to know also. Track id is way better than shazam

I have copy out the track id apk out but I don't have another android to try it out...lol ill try to upload when I get home... Xda app doesn't let me upload programs...

Try Soundhound. I think thats even better than Track ID

TrackID is definitely the best. It's been able to identify 99% of what the other apps couldn't. It can even identify Game OSTs and foreign songs, which Soundhound and Shazam mostly fail on.

Everytime I use Track ID now....I get the force close prompt. Can never use Track ID. Any suggestions?

I think soundhound is better
I try trackID and soundhound, same song same rage, soundhound get it

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > TrackID and Clear Data and Clear Cache

my trackid is not working anymore, keep force closing everytime i open it. This happens after i update to r...20 update.

ok i extracted this apk from my x10... not sure does it work in any other android fone... can anyone help me try it out??

Tried on HTC Desire and keep getting following the error message-"the application trackid (process com.sonyericcson.trackid3.client.rachael) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again. - force close.

tried to install it but it fail when installing. do i need to root the device?

TrackID for other Android phones
I re-use this thread instead of opening a new one. I'd like to use that music recognition software as well. I'd rather use TrackID than Shazam or Soundhound due to rumors they'd install spyware on the phone. I'd appreciate a port of TrackID to other phones (i.e. the HTC Dream I use). I used TrackID on my SE W850i before and it worked just great. Is there a possibility one of the dev's could take a look?

Is there a way to copy the stock track id binary to a custom froyo installation? I just copied the trackid.apk package from 2.1 using super manager to sd-card and installed it on the Wolfpack 2.2 rom. the program starts, but when I click "record" nothing happens.
Do I need to copy additional files/folders to make it work on froyo? Is it possible at all? I would like to continue using track id instead of the other proposed software due to the spyware rumours and tha fact that there is no limit of songs to recognize.

You can't use it just with the .apk file. It's not that simple. Suggest to someone of the devs to try make it work.

Apps compatability

I'm trying to install the Official Cineworld App but I am unable to even see the App because it is not compatible with my Sensation.
Does anyone know why and if there is a way around this?
I thought as long as you had Android all Apps should be compatible.

I noticed that some of my apps aren't opening at full size. Adao file manager only takes up 3\4 of the screen.

The App I'm after does not even appear on the marketplace as it is "incompatible"
How is this decided It cant be processor and not filling the screen I can live with but I cant even fin out.

Soma apps are just not compatible with Android 2.3 yet.

this may be due to qhd resolution of sensation.

Try this method
Download Spare Parts from android market.
Go into the application, if compatibility mode is checked, uncheck it and recheck it. And Reboot it
If its unchecked, check it and reboot.
See if it works

[Q] Removing My Orders and My Devices form Android Market

Does anybody knows how to remove My Orders and My Devices form Android Market?
Earlier I used Desire HD. Some market application I did not used that time and off-course uninstalled them. That time those unused uninstalled also appeared onto my market account. Recently I changed my phone to Sensation but still those DHD applications are visible onto my market account. Even some of them automatically restored. I want to get rid of that by removing unappropriated stuffs.
When I used Desire HD android market's "My Devices" page showed desire HD. But now after using sensation, "My Devices" page is showing two devices.
Please help me by let me know how to remove My Orders and My Devices form Android Market?.

Yeah I did. But Android Market's website is showing all the previously installed applications.

Have you tried going to the android market website on your PC? You can login to you account there and delete devices.

I wrote this post after visited android market hundreds times !!! Can you please try there and let me know whether it's possible to delete device from there or not ???

You can delete devices from there. I didnt even know the android market kept track of your devices until I went there a couple days ago. I saw every phone I had listed. It was weird to see my G1 listed from back in the day lol. I deleted them all except for my current Sensation.

Would you please explain bit more as I could not see any delete option there!!! A screenshot is preferable.

You can hide and rename devices, u can not delete them yet.

My mistake, you are correct. I could have sworn I deleted them.

Has anyone ever figured this out?
I flash my phone a few times a month and I think it is nice that it will reinstall all your market apps but there are a LOT that I just install to try and then want them GONE forever. Has anyone ever figured this out?

PS Yes I tried to uninstall from the settings menu as well as uninstalling using the market app on the phone. But I still have "FREE" apps on my orders list from January of this year that I do not install or use.

Nope, and Google are useless as well as they didn't even know that if you look on your Google Dashboard (all account data held by Google) you can see what they backup and how large the backup is

In order to get those old apps from your previous device not to restore on your new device all you have to do is not select "automatically restore backup" check when you first setup your device. I prefer to use titanium backup anyway because I prefer a more hands on approach. Hope that helps. Just do a factory reset and make sure you don't check that option the 2nd go-around.

this problem also bugs me too. I got a new phone and it doesn't automatically install all my apps, the market only seems to want to install to old phone?
and there are apps I do not wish to install.
the market app on the phone doesn't show any apps at all.
so I have to go through the market website and manually pick the apps.
I find it hard to believe that Google haven't done proper useability testing for this scenario, it's really crap.

I've installed a craked version of Beautiful Widgets (shame on me) so I could try it for some time. Now I want to buy the application and I cant! Somehow the android market thinks i've purchased the app.
Does any one know a way to fix that?

Have you tried uninstalling the cracked version first? That should in theory let you buy it. If you already did that then I have no idea lol.

Try clearing data for the market. Go to settings > applications > manage applications, then select the "all" tab. Scroll down until you find the market app and select it. Select the "clear data" button. If that doesn't clear the cache - it should - clear that as well. Then open the market and search for Beautiful Widgets. Hopefully you'll be able to purchase it before it repopulates your list of apps.
I've noticed this with apps that I got for free from Amazon. If you cannot get that to work, wait until there's an update to BW. Once you see the "update" button and select it, you'll be given an option to buy it. I thought that somehow the Market integrated with Amazon (yeah right), but unfortunately not.
I think pirating apps is sleazy, especially considering that they're usually only $1-$3 and a one-time purchase. But thank you for actually purchasing the app after pirating it.

I´ve already tryed to clear the market data and no succes =/ Guess I will have to wait for the next update from Level Up.
I agree with you plainjane, the apps price are VERY reasonable, but I like to try the apps for some time before buying them and the new market refound system makes impossible to try the app for some time.
Any other suggestions?

Have you tried purchasing it from a computer? Go to the market website and try there. If you're able to purchase it there, the download should automatically start on your device if you're connected to the Internet.
Alternatively, you can reinstall the app and uninstall it from the market. You should then have the option to purchase it.
If you can't get anything to work, you can always contact Market support.

If you think you still have remains on your phone from the cracked version you can try the app in my signature "sd maid" to remove those remains.

At the PC is flaged as purchased as well.
So i went trought hell to find the bloddy contact us link, google knows how to hide that =D
I will ask them for support.

Not shure if I got lucky or not but 2 weeks ago i've instaled the MUIU Prime v4 and I was able tu purchase the apps in the old market.

Thx, but I'm already running miui xj and I don't want to change my rom!
Any other alternatives?

Try installing the cracked version and uninstalling through the market. Not an ideal solution but I think that will work.

Sadlly no. The web market (market.google) has a database for the purchased apps. So if you install a cracked version of an App google put a purchased flag on the database. But i think that the old market does not use this database that is why i was abble to buy the app using the old market.
When i say the old market i mean that one that came with the 2.2, with a green half circle on top.

OK the way to do it that has worked for me when I use cracked apps to test is that, it will look like it thinks you have purchased but when you hit update or install, it will ask you to pay.
Remember to hit the thanks button if I helped! It only takes a second!

thx for helping out, but problem not solved!
i have tried the following:
* update from cracked app
* uninstalled cracked app and then install from market
* uninstalled cracked app, installed demo version from market and then tried to upgrade to full version
all of these attempts failed!
it just says in the market that the app is purchased and when i try to install it (or update it), it says something like "download declined because app is not purchased"!
i guess a full wipe would be a solution, but i´d rather not do that, right now!

Full wipe won't help...at least it didn't in my case. I have done a few full wipes and even switched between android versions and still get to "download and install" before it tells me app is not purchased but there is no purchase option in market, only install...

netflix works just fine for me, ive had 2 lockups tho that have required a battery pull to restart device tho

Can you post the link of netflix apk ?? I can download it from market. The apk I have is not working.

Tubemate standalone working fine. But try to open any youtube link from browser with tubemate. It says link not found.
BTW, Can you post the link for google earth???

Vodafone account app doesn't work. No workaround AFAIK.

Instead of using Tube mate for YouTube links, check out JetVD.

Yes it does and its amazing. Let's you pick from various quality options as well as mp3. Download the Plus version of the app (for free) from their website www.jetvd.com.
Also wanted to report Caller ID Faker app doesn't work on ICS either. Opens, then force quits.

Friendcaster Free & Pro Versions don't work for me in ICS. When you try to login, the app closes. The only fix I found is going back to a Gingerbread ROM, use the application after log in, and then do a backup in Titanium and restore the App+Data in ICS later.

hmm , interesting work arround. I already have the data backup from GB...

Hotmail don't work with me, exactely i didn't find it in the market.

Netflix, adfree, and ultimate juice defender (no longer use because I am getting great battery life out of ICS) all works for me.
I did actually edit my build.prop to have the market recognize me as a tmous phone again.
