So, i have a Moto G Dual-SIM Retail on 4.4.2 and i've been noticing some minor bugs, but i think the OTA updates would be able to solve it for me. But on the other hand, my device is rooted and i have quite a lot of things (XPosed Modules and etc) on it, as well as a custom recovery (I think it is CWM). How do i update, only gotta restore stock recovery and update normally via OTA? No need to reset anything? Root will remain along with my Xposed Modules?
Thanks in advance.
You need stock recovery (some have reported that philz recovery also works) and stock kernel with stock modules. Root remains. You just need to reinstall xposed framework from installer. Modules remain.
Quick way is flash 4.4.3 vesion for Bazil utmsds ( for dual sim).

Where can i get the stock recovery and how to flash it? Currently using PhilZ but it doesn't let me do the OTA update.
And there's a thread on this section that shows how to restore stock firmware, but i'm already running it and would not wan't to wipe out the phone or anything just to update.
Thanks anyway guys!
PS: Now that i tried this without success, phone goes on rebooting to Philz Recovery after a while in attempt to update (and fails everytime of course)
EDIT again: Done it by getting recovery.img from stock firmware and flashing via fastboot (Android SDK), but now getting error while phone tries to update and when it boots get "update unsuccessful" warning.
Because u use Xposed and some module. Best way u should use Titanium Backup, backup all you apps, after that, use Root Explore ,copy whole sdcard to yr PC, flash stock 4.4.3,root and copy back all detail to sdcard, use Titan backup all apps lost and all data. Done. If not ,u still have to unroot, uninstall Xposed with all module, i mean must do yr phone like stock rom,and update it.

I wonder if the next OTA would fail due to an outdated radio version?

Help Needed
What are the prerequisites for flashing the rooted 44s?
So i have the 38R version from calkulin instaled, which should be OTA safe, but when I try to do the incremental update on TWRP the following message is shown:
"Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found
E: Error executing updater binary in zip "/cache/"filename".zip"
And it fails to flash the zip, any ideias on why this is happening and out to solve it?
Under TWRP setting i have both "skip md5 generation during backup." and "Enable MD5 verification of backup files." unchecked.
If you moded your ROM you might not be able to update it. Easiest solution might be to flash calkulin's version again.

stock rooted XNPH44S ROM problem
After installing Calkulin's stock rooted XNPH44S ROM (many thanks Calkulin!), I understood that there was no need for a SuperSU app. So I uninstalled it and enabled root (App+ADB). But something is not well with this root new method.
My "Titanium Backup" app get stuck in the window "accessing root rights" and after a while I get a message saying that it was not able to get root access with the command "/system/xbin/su"
Apparently this is not the only one. The "File Manager" app also get stuck and after a while stops with the sorry message.
The funny thing is that I installed SuperSU 2.16 and everything is fine now.
So, I am confused. SuperSU is needed or not?
If so, should we also enable root in the develop settings?
Or should I reinstall the ROM with "persist.sys.root_access=1"?
Thanks for the support
Now that the new Lollipop update came out, I want to install it on my rooted stock Android Nexus 5. I have tried Wiping data from CW Recovery, and then installing the image-hammerhead-lrx22c.zip . After finishing the install and check the settings, I get 5.0 as the version of Android on the phone.
That zip is meant to be used with fastboot. Not recoveries. Please read stuff before trying if you don't know what you're doing.
Hello,
I have got a problem to do anything with my tablet N8010. Some time ago I flashed custom ROM Lineage 14.1 (android 7.1) using custom recovery TWRP. Everything works fine except on some bugs in the ROM. These bugs convinced me to flash good old stock Kitkat ROM. But there is a problem. My USB port is somehow broken - I bless god that it charge battery at least but data communication is dead even when using different accessories. Problem is even worse because I managed to flash stock recovery over TWRP. If I recapitulate this, I cannot flash stock ROM over odin because USB data transfer does not work. I am stuck with stock recovery which allow me to flash only Samsung signed ZIPs.
The target is to either root Lineage ROM or get back custom recovery somehow.
What i have tried already:
LineageOS - addonsu-arm-signed.zip
This ZIP should be flashed through custom recovery to achieve ROOT access but thanks it is unusable unfortunately thanks of absence of Samsung's signature
All kind of ONE-CLICK-ROOT-APPS
Since i cannot root device through USB cable I have to use applications to try to reach root state. I have tried most common apps for this kind of purpose but non of these worked.
Ideas to solve this kind of problem
ADB-ROOT option in LineageOS
I can enable ADB-ROOT access in developers settings. I know there is a way of connecting to ADB via Wi-Fi. This I have tried already and I was successful.
Questions:
Will the Wi-Fi connection persist event when going to bootloader?
Is it possible to flash custom recovery at least from booted Android through ADB?
Is there any other way to flash or root recovery not from bootloader?
Use stock TAR.MD5 file
I managed to get all IMG files from stock firmware .md5 file but is it useful somehow? Can i just put them into ZIP archive and flash it through stock recovery or ADB-ROOT?
Prepare ZIP for stock RECOVERY
I would either need custom recovery ZIP (not IMG or tAR.MD5 file) to flash it through stock recovery or create / change / delete some attributes in ZIP file to be able to pass the signature verification of stock RECOVERY
This is my situation. External SD and Wi-Fi are only friend of mine in this situation and I am asking you kindly if I am stuck with ROM I have or if I have a chance to resolve the issue and flash stock ROM.
Thank you
Have a look and see if Mobile Odin or Flashfire work on this tablet .

Since i am stucked with stock recovery, the signature verifying fails. I does not work.
I have managed situation by following this article. Also, do not forget to type adb root before typing adb shell

Hey there.
So, my 6045 was on that awful MM update filled with ads, so I changed the firmware to the Panasonic one in order to be able to install TWRP and next flash either Lineage or RR.
I have no problem installing TWRP using the Idol 3 suite (Here), however, whenever I try to flash the Lineage zip, or the RR zip, it gets stuck on the Powered by Android screen.
I always wipe everything before flashing the zips.
I have tried wiping cache/dalvik after flashing them, and also not wiping. Either way, and with both roms, the phone gets stuck, and I need to use the Panasonic tool again to restore the phone to a functioning state.
Please help, I've been repeating this process about 10 times, and it's getting very frustrating.
Thanks.
EDIT: Is the version of TWRP somehow relevant for this? The latest version I can install is 3.0, from the link provided. If I try to install this one I get a bootloop. Please help.
Hi, u need to flash the MM partitons zip first then the rom . Look on AlekDev customs roms threads, he usualy has the MM partition file.
