I've had this phone for a while now and I pretty much hate it. I'm hoping a custom Rom will change that but there are so many I don't know where to start. Any recommendations on the best most stable Rom to go with? Thanks.

Hello Guys
I have a Samsung S5830i phone with Gingerbread.XXLI1. I have rooted the phone successfully. I want to installed RazerDroid Rom. The link is as follows :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816611. It says that it can be installed from Stock Rom. Is XXLI1 Stock Rom???
Please advise.
Hello girish78,
as far as I know is this the latest Stock Firmware.
I'm new to this but if I'm not mistaken, it depends on the baseband version the rom is based on. Even though yours XXLI1 and its stock, i think there are many more with stock roms for your phone with different baseband versions. I think you should try to ask the developer of the rom to avoid any problems.
Sorry if this wasnt helpful.

Is your cwm fully working? Check if it can back up and restore, back up your rom then restore it. If it works then i think it will be ok to install the rom because you have a back up incase anything goes wrong. Remember, there are still risks involved. I went to the link and done some reading, theres no baseband info specified. Goodluck buddy:thumbup:

Rafael Baugis Kernel Update
Hi All
I want to update the kernel and the process mentions me to install boot.img, then install Rom and then install the module. Check this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818830
Cannot I just install the module to update the kernel????
Please advise.
Its generally a good idea to follow the instructions given by the developer it might work for you if you try it your way but it would really suck if it doesnt. follow the given instructions rather:thumbup:

I would start reading some posts in the development forum, and other specific topics on the various steps you will need to take. But...
First you will need to install a custom recovery, like clockwork mod(cwm) or twrp.
Second, you will need to find a ROM specific to your device, making sure to check your model number and only installing a ROM if it is intended for your devices model.
Third, flash the rom .zip in the previously installed recovery.
That's really all you need to do, but you should read how to take those steps in the threads for them and your device.

When you flash a stock firmware either from that link or (recommended) sammobile.com, its called stock for a reason it turns the firmware, recovery and kernel back to....err.....stock

Hello Team,
I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I am new here and I am looking for custom ROM.
Some the custom ROM come with Gapps but some say invalid or link not found. Is it possible to install a different Gapp from a different custom ROM or is it that I need to use the same Gapp.
If possible can youll give me link where I can download custom ROMS from apart from xda..
Thanks in advance.

Probably better placed in the q&a but here goes...
Gapps afaik are separate from the rom so any will do. If your not happy getting it from here. ( ) then you can do a search on play store and that will throw up a whole host of options for you.
Good luck.
