SD card issues - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I got a 64gb SDXC SD Card made by Sammy themselves, however I put it into my phone and it cannot even detect it. Do I need to format it or something?

Where do you buy that?

what size card 8gb 16gb or 32gb?
what speed/class 2, 4, 6, 10?
Take the card out of the phone and put it in a computer. If you have any data you care about on the card, copy it to the computer. Then, format the card using the computer. Choose FAT32 as the filesystem, and leave the rest default. Then, safely eject / unmount the card from the computer, and put it back into the phone.

Micro SDXC 64gb card & CyanogenMod 9.201 Nightly

Hi all, having an issue here. After forking out £37, I put it in my CM9 Stable Sensation XE and it didn't work, so I got told to update to nightly. Now running 9.201xxxx Nightly, and it still doesn't work, it prompts me to format but it just says on the notification bar "Damaged SD" and won't actually format it.
Cheers for any help!
try to format it in windows first. if it still doesnt work maybe 32gb is the only maximum size supported by sensation

[Q] SD Card woes

Really happy with Tab 2 in general, but..
I've always used App2SD or similar and this fails to show SD card as an option.
SD card is seen by system, system can/has formatted SD card.
Root access is good, thanks one and all for the posts.
With ES explorer extSDcard is not always shown, have to enter root first then mnt etc to find it.
Can safely browse, add and remove files with most applications.
TiBackup has used SD card.
I really want to keep the system/application storage at maximum free space. Is it just App2SD or does everyone have the same issue?
Cheers
Alec.

This script simply swaps the mapping, external becomes internal and internal would be external. Not sure that helps. Guess you can shove in a big ol uSD but probably best advice is don't load a bunch of unused apps. 13GB internal is a lot of space.

128gb micosd card?

So it looks like Amazon has these back in stock. I take lot's of photos/videos of my baby and filling up my 64gb card quick..
Anyone have any issues on the S5? I had one of the original Sandisk 64gb ones since the NoteII with no issues, but I know lot's of folks have problems. I don't want to be worried about losing my photos/videos.

My 128GB SDcard works flawlessly, but that's because it's formatted to fat32 and not exfat (exfat is the format that causes all the "bad Sandisk cards on Samsung phones" stories).

I just put a lot of stuff on the card, and non of them show up, apparently i did not copy the stuff from PC, but I actually moved it, so all the stuff is gone.
Just doing recovery to see if I can get the stuff back.

My computer is set up to dual-boot Win7 and Ubuntu Trusty. I booted into Ubuntu, loaded Gparted, and formatted the card that way.
fat32
here's a link for format exfat to fat32

I guess i'm the minority here, but I formatted using exFAT on OSX. Works perfectly with no issues.
