Headphones with working Mic and audio control - Nexus 6P Accessories

I'm not having much luck with my existing headphones... Either the mic doesn't work for calls or the audio controls don't work or neither. I have used the pairs that came with my HTC M8, the Samsung Note 4 pair I had, my Xiaomi pistons and a couple of others. Have other folks had luck with any pairs were everything works?

Work like a charm: http://www.amazon.com/Bose-QuietCom...7097624&sr=8-4&keywords=bose+quiet+comfort+25
But...you need to buy the "made for Android" version.

I have Bose QC15's that I hope will work also with my new 6P.

Can anyone confirm if the mic on Klipsch i series work?

As title really, can anyone confirm if the Klispch X10i s4i or s5i microphones work with the Nexus one? I have seen conflicting reports and one that said it did at first and then stopped
I really want a pair but need to be sure at least the mic works even if other functions dont.
Thanks
I may be wrong but I think the mic for any headphones with a mic work its just the other functions that don't (i don't have what you have but i have another pair of headphones and they work fine)
Well, I am afraid the answer is that the Klipsch X10i does not work with android phones. At least not with the desire z.
I spent £170 on some Klipsch X10i and the mic doesn't work at all
That said...
The Klipsch S2m are on amazon only and they are the same as the Klipsch X1m. They are one button and have a mic that works with android and they are only £25!! They don't sound as quite as good as the X10i but at £25 instead of £170 that seems fair. They have a good balanced sound, a bit bass heavy if anything but they are well worth the money. X10i's are going on e bay!
I have been using the S4i with the N1 since Feb of 2010 with no problems. As you might have read, the volume +/- buttons are made for the iphone and don't work with android. But the call-answer button works to answer calls and skip tracks. The mic works great and the sound quality from the earbuds is great.
Non-Iphone headsets on Android phones
This is general issue, IPhone headsets have the pins for mic/ground switched, so that 'standard' headsets will not work. This is done so that Steve Jobs/Apple can make more money
All you need is a pin-converter cable. I found this one which makes any non-Iphone phone accept IPhone headsets etc.

iPhone Headset to other Cell Phone Headset Jack Adapter - 3.5mm 4 conductor TRRS Male to Female
Its pricey but well worth it if you don't want to buy an IPhone and make Steve rich
it works

The X10i's mic works on my SGS2. Volume buttons don't and centre button also doesn't respond the first few times.

Wired earbuds and mic combo

Has anyone gotten a earbud/microphone combination to work properly? I just got the PhillipsSHH8006/28 headset . Audio works fine, both in call and when listening to music, but the microphone doesn't seem to work at all. I plugged them in to my friend's phone and the mic worked just fine, so it seems unlikely that it's a physical problem.
I'm currently using the EE4 Gummy Charged ROM on the imnuts PBJ voodoo kernel, so it could be something with that, but I thought I'd ask in accessories first to see if anyone has had any luck.
Interested to see if anyone else comments on this. I have a set of Senneheiser headphones with the exact same problem. Weird thing is, I went into the Verizon store and the headphones worked fine on other phones (including my old Incredible) and the salesman's cheap headphone/mic set worked fine with my phone.... can't figure it out.
I've been able to get a couple of headphones w/mic working with my charge.
Just Wireless Headset - Black
Rocketfish Mobile - Hands-Free Stereo Headset - Black/Red
I got the first one from eBay for less than $2 and the other one for about $5.
I'm running on rooted EE4 with Voodoo
I went on Verizons web site and it said ibeats would work with charge....nope. I've tried the Bose...nope...gonna call Samsung.

I use etymotic's new buds, mic, etc, all work fine.

My in-ear skull candy's mic does not work. The audio is fine.
I have since given up on finding a high end set of headphones with a mic that works with the charge. Settled on monster turbines from best buy. Sound awesome.

I use diddy beats with mine, works great.
Mic works, and I have pause/play control by clicking the little remote on the cord, no volume control however.
Wow, glad I checked here first... I was just getting ready to buy a few pair of the Klipsch Image S4i earbud/mic headphones...
Has anyone actually heard from Samsung? I own the Charge and my girlfriend owns the i100 Gem (from a Verizon reseller). We go to the beach a lot and I'm looking for something we can use to listen to music and take phone calls. I was hoping the Image S4i's would be the move, since I own Klipsch speakers and the brand is outstanding.
I know the Image S4i's are certified to work on iPhones. What do you guys think?
I used a headset/mic that came with my work blackberry bold, and it worked fine (both headset and mic).
Just tried my new Etymotics HF-2 headset and it works perfectly. My voice came across loud and clear according to the other end, I could hear with the volume set low, and I could pause/play videos and end/start calls.
Operation was the same as my iphone 3gs included earbuds, but the quality reminded me of my old ER-4Ps.
Wanted to revisit this, as I never wound up buying anything (yet)...
Has anyone found a good earbud and headset combo? Anything that has functioning in-line audio controls?

just ordered rocketfish
Glad I read this thread, I just lost the bluetooth device that came with my DC and was looking into a replacement and think I would just prefer a set of phones with a mic. I ordered the Rocketfish ones mentioned earlier and will let you know of my result. They only cost a dollar too so that's a nice plus. I used to be a hardcore audiophile only listening to high-end ear buds for the subtle differences claimed by each manufacturer. These days, i'm satisfied if i even hear the slightest bass response so "quality" is not my largest concern. I currently prefer an unbranded (except for the marketing company that gave them to me) pair of ear buds to my bose ear buds.
Just got my rocket fish. I thought it was 2 earphones instead of one, but at a dollar i don't really care much, I usually listen with one.
But they work fine, and even better with the headset control app. Lets you add a variety of click combinations and functions.
Using them while i save for some if those fancy etymotics.

This phone with voodoo sound really deserves a good set of headphones. I use the audio technica ATH-M50s and they are great for the price, best listening experience of any mobile device i've had including iPod and other dedicated mp3 devices.

Am I correct in saying that Voodoo Sound only works on Froyo ROMs with Voodoo kernels, because source code is not available yet for GB kernels?
Sorry, new to Voodoo.
If you buy the voodoo control application it can add the module to stock rooted kernels so you can have voodoo sound on GB

Yeah, only think that doesn't work is the bass boost. But the newest Voodoo Control works on all 2.3.4 kernels so far, no telling whether it'll work on 2.3.5 though. Still, very much worth it if you ever use headphones, voodoo sound is awesome.
On this topic has anyone found a cheap set of wired earbuds from Walmart, Target, Bestbuy, or some other local retailer that will work with the Droid Charge and Yahoo Messenger's Voice or Video Chat?
Need to pick up a set this week but not sure which earbuds will work for the charge and which ones won't.

Mic on earphones that does not work with Triumph

Hello,
I am currently using Scosche idr655m earphones. It has microphones built-in. I used it with my Intercept before and it worked great. Recently, I just bought the Triumph and found that while a mic other pair of generic earphones works, this one does not. it will work as a normal earphone but the mic wont pick up anything. If there is a fix, please let me know. Otherwise, let me warn you that it wont work so you dont have to waste quite a bit of money on it.
Cheers,

Just picked up the V-Moda Bass Freq Metal Vocal Earbuds from radioshack!
$50 bucks. Frequency Response 8-22,000hz Noise Isolating. microphone inline with mute button. They sound better than most of the popular $150+ headphones. GREAT DEAL
my skull candies work flawlessly on my triumph. call volume is great and the mic picks up very well.
Just grab an inline mic for 3 bucks on ebay and use whatever earpiece you want

Hi there,
I can tell you that the 3.5 mm jack works well (I've got a pair of Monster Turbines (without the controls on them) and for music at least, everything works GREAT) and the sound chip is better that anything I've ever heard on a phone. I've got a I9023 Nexus S too and besides the Turbines I also tried 2 other pairs of headsets, a Motorola Rokr E8 headset and a SonyErricson Xperia Headset and the microphone and controls worked well.
If your thinking of buying the JAMZ to use them as a phone HEADSET... DON'T !!! Don't ruin a perfect pair of headphones by using them as an phone headset... Before getting my Turbines I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I decided that this type of headphones are like a good wine: you need to savor them with the sound that they were meant for: MUSIC !!! If you need to answer the phone, take the phone out of your pocket, take the headphones out and answer the phone !
Hope this helps...
Thank you!I think about what you said and decide to give up on finding another headset for my Nexus S. I've got a Ipod classic and Bose in ear. The couple is so enough for me.
Thank you 4 your advise.

Which headsets work?

Can anyone let me know which headsets work with the Nexus 4? I have a few sets from a nokia and htch but each give me a different problem.
Either the microphone on the lead does not work or the volume is quiet coming out of the headphones.
So if anyone has a good experience with a specific set please let me know.
Requirements:
Microphone on lead
Good sound quality in both directions.

I use Klipsch S4(II) in-ear headphones, specifically their Android variant. Mic just has the one button (seeing as Android doesn't seem to support 3 button mics).
Sound quality from ear phones is great, same for the mic, I regularly use it for calls.
I've had problems where other mics on earphones wouldn't work properly with my N4, mainly that I'd sound very quiet/far away to the other person on the other end of the call. Something about low input gain from the mic. Haven't had that problem with these though. At least not as badly though. Look around there just now, seen it's still an issue with N5 apparently...

I'm using a very cheap pair of headphones with a microphone...just a random thing i picked up from ebay. Paid a whooping 1£ for them and they work just fine. THESE. There are sellers who sell them for less than that

Your description is exactly what I have been facing. Looking at those headphones they are pretty expensive. I'll wait and see if anyone suggests something cheaper that will work also.
Otherwise I'll take a look at the klipsch. Thanks for the tip!

Wow so these things really work? You don't sound far away when using them in a call? Can't go wrong with these if they work well!
Well, I didn't use them too much but the people i talked to when using them did not complain about anything

For that price, can you even listen to music with them?
How's the sound quality, compared to other, more expensive, well known brands?
A lot of Philips headphones work. Apple, Sony (when it was Ericsson, don't know about now), nokia and some other brands I don't know use other wiring for their headphone jack. 3 rings on the pin, every pin has an other use

I am using the samsung S2 headset and it is very good with nexus 4
I'm using Urbanears Medis Plus. They come with a textile cable, in different colors and three different ear pieces, so that they fit perfectly, very good for sports. Sound quality is good, microphone works and they've got a button to play/pause or skip tracks
