Hi all, I've searched and can't find an answer to this, I would like to be able to flash a stock kernel without having to flash a complete ROM, at the moment I've got the latest OTA from Asus which I've rooted and put CWM on - all is very stable and I'm happy with it. However I like to experiment with custom Kernels , my point is, where can i find a stock Asus kernel (blob or zip I don't mind ) that I can flash using CWM or dd etc... ? My current build is 9.2.1.24 with kernel 2.6.39.4 [email protected]#1

It's better to backup the whole ROM since most kernels come with their own modules and/or libraries. Backing up only kernel and restore it may cause some issues e.g. Wi-fi not working etc.

I've been using Franco kernel for awhile now but I just noticed that camera will not record video anymore. Not sure if this is caused by Franco kernel but another thread said reverting to stock kernel fixed the same issue. Where can I get a flashable zip for the stock kernel? I've looked around and cannot find it.
Franco r32 causes this, flash r31 until r33 is released.
If you want stock kernel, then download the rom and fastboot flash boot.img.
How can I know what kernel I have on my phone? I have CM12 in my phone but want to know if I have the kk kernel installed so I update it to the LP one but dont know how to know wich one I have, thanks
If you have CM12, you have a lollipop kernel. CM11 would have a kk kernel.
If you want to know your bootloader version, boot into fastboot mode on the phone.
Kernel version can be found in:
Settings > About phone
