My voice navigation does not work properly and cant figure it out.. it mirrors this problem exactly "I have a problem with my Google Maps. Each time I try to use Driving Navigation function, I receive the following error: "For voice-guided navigation, you need to install text-to-speech support from the Android Market." Then, when I click on "Install," I'm taken to the Market and I receive another message saying: "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: pname:com.svox.langpack.installer." Has anyone experienced similar issue? Any advice how to solve this?
However, if I skip the installation, it seems that there is already basic speech navigation installed because I hear "in half a mile, turn left"-- the GPS voice however is not saying the street name or highway name like my mytouch did. Is this normal?" i checked under voice setting and under pico it says the language pack isnt installed but i cant get it off market... whats the solution PLEASE
Hello,
Firstly, I think LeWa.cm7.1.xt720.zip by mchlbenner which is an amazing ROM. But there is one problem.
I have tried everything to get a Text-To-Speech Engine for LeWa.cm7.1.xt720.zip. Nothing works at all. I tried installing the PICO TTS from OpenRecovery and nothing. I tried installing IVONA (greyed out) , Ispeak (crashes), Vaja ( crashes), eSpeak TTS (asks me to set it as default TTS but then take me to settings which crashes).
Even if I enable Accessibility APP TalkBack the phone still doesn't talk to me. The only app that was able to talk to me was Navigation by google maps. However, I am unsure of what TTS this uses.
Even in the Language & Input Settings there is nothing under Voice output. There is nothing in the Text-To-Speech menu as well (except for useless things like Can anyone help me fix the Text-To-speech I have yet to find any engine that works. I want to test utter but cannot do so with Text-to-Speech working.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks so much
Hi guys,
(UK moto G, unrooted & latest KitKat)
I cannot get my text to speech work, Ive gone into settings & finally text-to-speech output, installed some voice data.
In all honesty I don`t even know what type of text its supposed to read. I`m guessing sms would classify... but there isnt a button to read out the text or anything. Can someone shed some light on this TTS for me please?
Also .. when I press "voice search" under speech in lang & input, nothing happens.... How do I fix this? Edit: voice to speech just worked.. and i didnt event change anything
When i plug my moto in my laptop and attempt to download from G play it just tells me the app will download soon and never does. What is the problem?... I used to have a similar problem with my galaxy S1 on a different laptop,
I have some problems with Google voice search.
I cant get any audible answer from Google now, no matter what question i try (not every question generate audible answers).
I have tried to set media volume to max, and to press volume up when i should hear the answer. Language is set to English(US) and voice output is on.
Second problem is that i cant open any apps with voice search, or set a reminder. "Take a picture" or "Play some music" doesnt work either.
I have unrooted stock fw (4.4.4) and use the Google Now launcer (3.6.14.1337016).
This should work outside US right, as long as i have set the language to english? (i also tried this using TunnelBear vpn with no success).
Anyone know what i could try to make these things work?
edit: i've tried to fix this problem several times, it has newer worked for me. 2 minutes after posting this i solved both problems by changing system language to English (it was in my native language).
So i guess you need to use a system language that supports voice search to make it work..
Sup fellas.
Just bought this phone last week and just tried to use the video recording.
It errors out that Google search is using the microphone and so won't allow me to record.
Tried closing all open google search apps and chrome but to no avail.
Anyone got any ideas?
Exact error message is : Com.google . android.googlequicksearchbox :search is currently recording audio. Camera will not be able to record right now.
Thanks!
try disable google now voice recognition
Not necessary to disable google voice recognition at all. It should work just disabling voice detection in everywhere (Google app --> Setting --> Voice) so voice detection will still working but only from google app. (Maybe you'll need to plug and unplug charger for the change to have effect).
