System UI Tuner? - HTC One A9

Has anyone had any luck getting this turned on? I've been hunting and none of the suggested methods have worked so far.

It's not enabled by HTC

Are you serious? We need this...

Why HTC dont let US personalize system ui tuner ?

I find the fingerprint button in quick access rather useless, is it possible to remove it even without system tuner enabled?

HTC has removed this feature for the A9. The M8 and M9 do have it. Sorry to bear the bad news

You are right HTCs do not have the System UI Tuner. What I mentioned earlier was in reference only to the Quick Settings editor. So no options for Status Bar Icons, Demo Mode
Battery Percentage can be displayed from settings/ power / show battery level
On M8 and M9----- Customizing Quick Settings
You can remove, replace, or rearrange the tiles in Quick Settings.
With two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings.
Tap the pencil and pad icon at the top and do one of the following:
In the Quick Settings list, press and hold the three line icon next to the item you want to move and drag it to rearrange the list.
Under Hidden items, press and hold the three line icon and drag it up to make it available in Quick Settings.
Note: There is a limit to the number of tiles that can be shown in Quick Settings. You may need to remove an existing item to make space for another one. To remove an item, drag it below Hidden items.

Possible.....that on HTC A9 its unavailable???:crying::crying::crying::crying:

To enable tuner:
Code:
adb shell su -c pm enable com.android.systemui/.tuner.TunerActivity
Eventually, it'll then show up in your settings. But it takes time for some reason. To launch it before it shows up:
Code:
adb shell am start com.android.systemui/.tuner.TunerActivity
Unfortunately, currently it crashes when you try to add a new quick settings tile. But you can at least subtract tiles and edit the statusbar icons.
You need root.

I also made a simple app to do this automatically. And it provides a way around the new tile crash. See this thread.

i don't know if this has already been figured out elsewhere, but i just found that with an activity launcher app you can navigate to "system ui" and select "demo mode". that will open up the system ui tuner. i am rooted, but i don't believe root is required to find it. the activity launcher app itself does not require root.

hello, i have instal lineage 14.1 on my htc one a9 hiaeuhl en it is working perfect only 1 thing is missing now.
There is no kernel fm driver in lineage 14.1.
Spirit2 also gives the same error, no working kernel fm radio driver.
The fm radio was working fine on stock rom.

[Q] Moto G Quick settings - 2 fingers only?

Hi Guys, I searched a lot in the Moto G forum looking for the answer to my question, but sadly I couldn't find it. What I want to know is why the Quick Settings menu in the Moto G (the tiles menu, the one with the owner picture, wi-fi, data, bluetooth toggles...) can only be accessed using two fingers? I ask that because I come from a Samsung Galaxy Mini and a Galaxy Wonder, both running CM10, and in them I can access the quick settings by both pulling the status bar with two fingers or simply pulling it from the right corner, what I think to be a faster and more natural option.
Can anyone confirm that in KitKat this annoyance has been fixed? Isn't it a standard jellybean feature? If it is, why would Motorola disable it?
Thanks in advance for anyone that can answer.
My Moto G is still on 4.3, but my Nexus 5 with KitKat needs 2 fingers aswell.

AOSP's quick settings menu doesn't support opening from the right corner in phone UI mode. It's weird. CM10 added that functionality.

That is just too bad then... will take sometime to get used to not having this feature and that button to close all recent apps. Hopefully we'll have CM on the G soon.... Thanks for answering.
It's an added feature that Cyanogen added in.

You just need to install Xposed framework and GravityBox (JB or KK depending on your MotoG rom) for this to work. It's one of the best plugin for xposed.
1st install Xposed, then GravityBox then reboot.
Go back to Xposed, select GravityBox module and then enable all the options you want (in that case your quick settings)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316070
Agreed that Gravity Box, as usual, holds the solution to most "must be a better way while remaining stock" questions and I personally use the quick settings from the right option, along with resizing, ordering and adding more settings, BUT they're still available with one finger as standard via the settings/notifications toggle in the top right corner, just needs a swipe and then a press so not a great hardship if you don't want to root.
If you're going to root a virtually vanilla Android phone like this though, Xposed is the way to go nowadays as you effectively build a custom ROM to your exact spec, not a lot of reasons to install someone elses ROM that has as much bloat as Samsung put in theirs as nearly all the good bits are available as modules for Xposed.

I like using the phone with just one hand (moto g) and defined a Nova action to access that menu. This is my screen now. The little hand scrolls down the notification bar and the home button opens the quick settings.

Extra Quick-Setting Tiles

Add/Remove QuickSetting Tiles
1. Download SQlite Editor - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ware.sqleditor
2. Open SQlite and then under Apps find settings storage > settings.db > system
3. In the search box search for "notification" (without quotation marks)
4. Find the following items:
• notification_Panel_Active_App_List
• notification_panel_default_active_app_list
• notification_Panel_Active_App_List_for_Reset
5. Select on of the above items, once selected choose the pencil icon (edit)
Add to the end of the "value" field (pick/chose what you want):
"NetworkBooster;" (Must have enabled this, see the source thread)
"WifiHotSpot;"
6. Once you have completed it for all 3 items above, exit SQlite
7. Go to Settings > Notification Panel > and press Reset
8. Reboot
I got the idea/steps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794970
If anyone knows any more, post 'em!
Edit: Removed brightness, doesn't work on the s5.

Wait a minute... Is "MobileHotspot" different from "WiFiHotspot"?
For example when Wi-Fi Hotspot quick-tile is enabled, hotspot does work correctly, but you are taken to a settings screen that shows:
Mobile Broadband Connect (USB) & Bluetooth tethering.
Does MobileHotspot quick tile offer different functionality?

Does Xposed + Stock ROM suit my needs ?

Hi. I have a Moto G 2013. I d like to enjoy Marshmallow on this discontinued phone.
I tried a lot of Rom but the battery life is not good with my use, less than one day (don t really know if it s the ROM, gapps, or one of my apps).
Anyway I tried Identity Crisis and the battery life is very good. But I miss some functionalities.
So I thought about install Xposed (I already did it, and it works), but I dont know if I can find the module that answers to my needs.
Here are they :
- disable notification light and wake up screen notifications during silent hours
- add arrows on keyboard (to move the cursor)
- edit / add tiles
- button to clear recent apps (tried a module but didn t work)
That s it for now.
My question is , will Xposed module permit me to install these functionalities ?
Thanks per advance for your help.

What is System UI Tuner and how do I enable it?
System UI Tuner lets you change certain UI aspects without the need for any extra software. You can remove, or change the order items appear in the Quick Settings (pulldown menu) and in status bar. Also it can add Percentage to the status bar battery icon. To enable: swipe down status bar and long press the settings gear icon for a few seconds - it will start to spin.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65555060&postcount=3

[HOW TO]Move the clock in Android Pie

How to move the clock on the right or put it in the center on android pie
There is a way to move the clock on the right where it was. For me, personally, I get used to to be in the left, but I also like to be able to personalize my phone on the way I want. Now, this is possible
1. You need to install an app called System UI Tuner and register for the beta program. After this, you have to receive an update of the app. Update it.
2. Need to give it permission through ADB. Here are the commands:
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS
adb shell pm grant com.zacharee1.systemuituner android.permission.DUMP
3.Go to Status bar > Custom and click Add item. Enter the key "right_clock_position". Enter whatever name for it you want. The new item will be created. Toggle it OFF.
Screenshot:
https://i.imgur.com/iTGR24G.jpg
The littles little buggy for me, just keep it in mind. Also, the clock can be moved in the center with "middle_clock_position"
Source: Reddit
Thank you sooooooo much for this FIX, it was driving me nuts!

fantastic app, there is the option to hide status bar e recall it with a swype when needed
Wish this had come out sooner, but LOVE it!
OK, I'm an idiot...where do I sign up for the beta of System UI Tuner?
I found it.... (I'm still an idiot)
From the last update of the app, you don't need anymore to add keys. There is option for moving the clock.

After you have installed the app, wait about 15 - 20 minutes, and go back into the play store on that app, and you should see a link to join the beta program. I did it from the phone, I don't know if it shows up on a PC.
AWESOME!!! Thanks ?

Good lock app is now available in Galaxy Store with a module to move the clock position in the status bar, as well as tons more awesome customization options. For those of you who have disabled galaxy store, the apk for Good Lock and its modules can also be found on apkmirror.com

I tried it on my huawei mate 10 and it didn't work. Is a reboot needed after, perhaps? I prefer the clock in the middle.

Solution for missing Full Bezel (Notch) option in developer settings

Hey Guys! I just got my Nokia 8.1 today and it came with the notch hidden. I was surprised when I could't find the option to turn it on in the developer settings where it should be named Full Bezel.
So I tried googling it (duh!) and I've seen a lot of people complaining about it but there was no easy solution., just something over SDK or something, which I don't really know how to use.
So basically the option is hidden but it is still in the settings.
Soooooo I got an Idea and tried this:
1. Install Nova Launcher (you don't have to use it, just install it)
2. Tap And hold on home screen and go to widgets
3. Chose Nova Launcher - Activities and place it on home screen
4. Scroll Down until you find settings and open it
5. Now scroll all the way down until you see Status bar style (.settings$NotchSettingsActivity)
6. Select it
BOOM! A direct shortcut to the Full Bezel setting!
Hope this will be helpful to someone. :fingers-crossed:

And yeah, it changes nothing.
Btw, if you chose System UI demo mode from System UI you'll get a System UI tuner where you can manage icons on notification bar. I've added a headset icon because it's not showing by default when it's connected.

Yeh, yeah, I saw that, too, but then only a small percentage of users got the update. That's why I had to find an alternative solution. And still there is no update in my region as well. And it's March 11! Hopefully they'll skip the previous one and give us the March SP update.
Edit: Just got the Feb... I really was hopping they'll bundle it with March SP but it doesn't matter. Hopefully the next one wont be delayed as much.
Anyway, even after the update I don't have the option to turn the notch on and off directly from settings.

You can download Settings Database Editor from Playstore. Look for Notch full bezel and set value from 1 to 0. Works on my european model.
the update didn't remove this ability
They only moved it to another place away of developer options
So , Just navigate to the Display Option > Advanced >Full bezel
and it lays there

As i have read this article, i have realized, that there are many things about my nokia i didn't know about/ God bless you for that. I use Microsoft Launcher instead of Nova, so i found Activity Launcher in Play Store, that does pretty the same thing as Nova shortcut. God bless you.
Just want to mention that if someone wants to hide the notch but can't find the option in Settings, try this app called Nacho Notch. Works really well. Also has adjustable dimensions for the status bar, navigation bar and the corners of the display
