Hello everyone! I'm new to android, and I have bought a Coolpad 8297-T01 on a trip to China, which I wish to root in order to install Google Play. It runs on 4.4.4 android version and kernel version is 3.10.28.
I haven't found advice on rooting this particular model, but I've seen that some users here post from the same device. So, before going on rooting from the generic list here http://www.xda-developers.com/root/, I'd like to ask if somebody has rooted successfully this model and how (in order to avoid making any bad mistake)
Thank you!
Anna
Hello.
Yes, your device can be rooted. One of the methods in the thread link you provided should work. Framaroot gets success for a lot of devices, and is probably why it is listed first. If it fails, just move on to the next option until you get root. The methods listed there won't break your device.
Good luck!

hello. I need the exact instructions that actually work to root my galaxy s5 5.0. the root methods on forums never work and I know exactly how to root the phone. but no one gives all the information on exactly how to do it. this is a replacement phone. I had the last version of Android rooted but the instructions on rooting that didn't work also and I had to use an app. I see where people have said you need Android bootloader but bootloader doesn't work through Odin. So can't actually put a custom recovery like TWRP on the phone using Odin. Is there another method that people aren't telling us that actually work or is there an app that can root. Had to use towelroot on my last phone because the rooting method never works. And I have been flashing ROMs for years on multiple phones so i know what needs to be downloaded. Just method can't work for everyone ununfortunately. If anyone has any information on how I can root my phone now that I'm on Android 5.0 would be much appreciated. Or if it's impossible to root the phone now that I'm on Android 5.0. If anyone can tell me that I would appreciate that too. Thnx

Hello, i decided it was time to root my 16gb D802 G2. i am newly registered though i have been reading the forums regularly and even have stock rooted my phone because lg being lg. Despite that, i was at complete loss when i head down custom roms and i dont know where subforum ask about the "best" lp rom for my phone.
So i wonder if maybe you could point me to where i can find terminologies and in which subforum i should post my previous question.
Also as far as i know there is no way to brick your phone without a way to recover, still if there is an irrecoverable brick it would be nice to know more about it. Thx for your time
Hello there, thank you for using XDA Assist.
HERE is a list of terminology and all you need to know about root and android words. HERE is your rooting guide for your device, or basically a compilation of youtube videos to root any variant of your phone. and HERE is where you usually ask your device related questions.
Hope i helped! Happy rooting!
Hi all! I recently purchased a Xiaolajiao LA2-S from China, and didn't realise that you couldnt install Google Play onto it. To get it installed it seems I need to root the phone. I've tried several methods, including the paid version of One Click Root, with no success. (their support told me it couldn't be rooted) Has anyone got one of these phones and if so have you managed to root it?
It is currently running Android 4.4.4.
Regards,
Dean.
Further to this here are the basic specs:
Operating System: Android 4.4
CPU Processor: Marvell PXA1908 Quad-Core 1.2GHz
GPU: Marvell PXA1908

Hello,
You may try using Kingroot
Also, I couldn't find much about your device around the forum. You may try asking here

Howzit guys.
Firstly if this is not the correct place to post my questions please inform me or MOD can move it.
I am trying to get some information about this device:
LG G4 Stylus
Brand: lge
Model LG-H635
OS: Android 6.0 (32Bit)
what i require is some links or help or guides on:
How to root this device
How to install custom recovery
Where to get older stock/official versions of the ROM ie. KitKat or LiloPop or Marshmallow.
Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated as my knowledge on the LG phones are very limited.
EDIT: Uploaded some pictures.
Hey, I have the same phone (H635), but unfortunately, the bootloader is not unlockable, so no one has created a custom recovery for this phone. I did have a temporary root with KingRoot, but there was a system update released on Tuesday that broke even the temporary root, so as of now, there isn't anything that can be done to the phone to mod or customize it.
If you have the opportunity to buy an American T Mobile model, that version has an unlockable bootloader, as well as custom recovery and roms available for it.
The only firmware I found on the internet for the H635 model is here, a version of Marshmallow: http://lg-firmware-rom.com/download/lg-g-stylo-h635-stock-kdz-firmware-h63520a/
Hope this helps answer your questions...
Cheers
Hello there.
Hopefully I've caught that eye of someone in the KNOW in regards to my Samsung A8 SM-A530W (Canada/Koodo) smartphone?
I'm looking for ODIN or other root files to root my phone, I've successfully rooted other Samsung devices, most recently a Samsung Galaxy S4 and a Samsung SM-T330NU 8.0" Tablet without any issue whatsoever, so I do know the process and can do it no problem, on whatever type of root files I'm able to find, I.E. Odin or other.
I'd appreciate any information or links to a ROOT FILES DOWNLOAD and/or HOW TO page either here on XDA or elsewhere for the Samsung A8 SM-A530W (Canada/Koodo) smartphone.
I can be reached by replying here or directly via email at: penticton AT mail DOT com
(I'm sure you know how to type that email address out properly,
I type it that way to thwart spam bot address crawlers from farming my
address to some crappy business spam list.)
Thanks so much for your assistance ahead of time, Much appreciated!

I never tried it but it seem to be possible. At least, according to this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...de-root-install-twrp-samsung-january-t3760975
I am on that same model and have rooted every stock build (only 3 at this point) that is out for this device. That is all we can do at this point. The kernels are not yet ready for our builds BUT you can use other A8/± stock ROMs to make things work if you want to delve that far into things.

Actually there's just 1 Custom Kernel released here (mine, MCK) and it's 100% compatible with your variant (actually, A530W is exact same as A530F). The only issue that my A530W tester met is related to IPv6 connections, issue that isn't variant related and that can happen too on other variants, I'm working to fix it so that v2 will be bugless once it's ready

Hey, after trying to root my A350W for hours, I finally found this link (https://www.thecustomdroid.com/root-samsung-galaxy-a8-a8-plus-2018-guide/). It's probably the easiest method for this model and it actually worked without having to use an SD or Micro SD card. Once you're done rooting your device, remember to download Root Checker (to check if the root worked) and go to Magisk to give permission to Root Checker so it can properly confirm your root. Reply to this if you need help w/ anything.
