Hi Guys,
I'm new to this whole Android tech stuff, but recently I decided to try cyanogenmod on my Xperia L device. But the thing is that the Bootloader access is restricted by default, so I can't install it. Can you show me any Custom Roms that don't need the Bootloader to be unlocked? Or if there is a way to unlock the Bootloader, even if unlocking is not allowed on my phone?
Thank you in advance!
There is no way to install custom rom without unlocking bootloader.and yes our device(Xperia L) is unlockbale.

Well, I checked out the tutorial, but it does mention that if bootloader unlock is restricted, then I can't do much. However, I might try to flash the rom what n78 shadow mentioned:

yes , but you must deodex your rom.
And if you want to install recovery without unlocking try this one out:

Good luck
If your bootloader status is unlock not allowed, you can try the ROMs which are for locked bootloader otherwise you can unlock your bootloader can flash any rom

Hi all!
I have a rooted(using framaroot) XPERIA E(C1505) phone, with locked bootloader(bl unlock allowed:no). I've been searching on xda for 2 days, I found a lot of install guides for other types, but i cant find the solution for installing CWM to my phone.
So i'd like to ask is there any method to install CWM with locked bootloader, or it's impossible now?
And if it's impossible, can i install Custom ROM without CWM? How?
Thank you for replying

No sorry mate, your going to have to have an unlocked bootloader or wait for the developers to come out with CWM for locked bootloaders, hardly likely for our phone, Maybe in a year or so since the Xperia E came out this year!

No chance bro. The only thing you can do without cwm, is install some mods (themes, toggles etc), i mean all the stuff you can just copy in system/app.
If you want to install a custom rom you will need to unlock your bootloader and use a kernel with integrated cwm.

Then you didn't install cwm mate. You rooted your phone and unlocked your bootloader, right?
Are you using a custom kernel?
Please describe me the entire procedure you did with the links of the mods you used.

The question was raised because of the locked bootloader...
Does any know a suitable method for Xpheria E ,locked bootloader,to run Custom roms?
What are you guys talking about? Unlocking bootloaders, CWM in general or CWM for locked bootloaders in particular?
I think somebody said CWM for locked bootloader wasn't possible for the E cause there was no available exploit.

Hi I would like to ask for your help on working with my Xperial L. It is free phone from my network plan so when I checked the unlock bootloader is set to NO. that is my problem at the moment. Is it still possible to root, and port a kernel/custom rom even if the bootloader cannot be unlocked? I hope you could give me the proper steps so I can arrive at the same set up as yours.
Here are the details of my unit at the moment:
Model - Xperial L C2105
Android version - 4.1.2
Build number - 15.0.A.2.17
Bootloader unlock: not allowed
I haven't started anything yet as I'm unsure which to steps to follow, hope if there's someone who had the same details can help me to root and port a kernel/rom.
Many Thanks in Advance!

Yes you can root & also install ROM too without unlocking (Which is risky). Kernel needs UBL so you can never have kernel for your device(AFAIK). Try to get it unlocked from your vendor or ask him for a replacement for your phone and get a Unlock able phone.

what are my options then and what are the risks if I don't unlock my bootloader? I don't think my vendor would change it so I'll just have to live with it.. can you provide me a tutorial please with these limitations..I would be very grateful if you could help me. thanks again.. :good:

Use the below link to root latest build it works (AFAIK).

My question is, might be silly.
Xperia customization famous DooMLoad was possible to introduction of rooted and CWM in the bootloader locked.
Is it possible in Moto G?
Thank you

Ah! Don't worry buddy
And is there any chance that it might be possible in the future?
Because this is the reason why I havent rooted yet...cause you can't lock it again...I mean to lock it without the information that it was already unlocked

Probably not, there is need of an exploit, but this last only for root, if you want also custom recovery you will must unlock bootloader. No chance to bring back bootloader value to initial state and never there will be.
ok thank you ...so I'll probably have to take the risk sooner or later
I have searched and I cannot find a root method for the Sony Xperia Z3 (D6653) I have which is running Android OS 4.4.4 and the firmware version is 23.0.1.A.1.49 - can this specific Z3 be rooted? If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.
Many thanks.

Flash an insecure kernel from the development section
look for advanced stock kernel....
If you have unlocked then it is SOOOOOOo easy to root....
EDIT
Say goodbye to your DRM keys though, if you unlock before rooting you will never see them again. You may want to look in the cross device development section to see the thread about restoring DRM functionality.

This is the wrong section to ask a question. But simple answer is NO. There's no way to flash a custom rom
without unlocking your bootloader.
