Hi Guys,
I'm new here and need a bit of help rooting my Sony Xperia C3 D2533 running Android 5.1.1
1286-1677_19.4.A.0.182
GLOBAL-LTE 19.4.A.0.182
Customization version 1288-2489 R5C
bootloader status : UNLOCKED
just wondering if there is a proper guide out there to do this in english and in detail
other guides required 4.4. or 5.0.2 software which I don't understand and Kingroot. I am pretty techy and I do understand how to do things, but may need some more information to read and where to start as I couldnt find anything myself.
would be pretty interesting to get some in depth details covering how to and the workings on how to do it, I did do a search and couldnt find anything with a method to do the 5.1.1 OS or with the unlocked bootloader
Thanks in advance
Any help please

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Looks as though it was easy as downloading SuperSU from the Play Store, and updating the binaries, but I doubt it's like that now.
Please check out this thread, and add to it, to see if there is a new method for 5.1.1:
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Sony Xperia C > Xperia C Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > (Q) How root Xperia C3 (D2533)?
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hello everybody,
First of all, I'd like to apologise if I'm posting this in the wrong thread, I'm kinda lost, as I'm new to this website and the smartphone world in general.
See, I've just bought a Sony Xperia Tipo ( http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_tipo-4718.php ) in the UK, and I moved back to my country (Peru), so my warranty is already voided.
What I wanted to do was to root and install a JB Rom (admittedly, I haven't found much information about this, and even the beginner guides I found confusing).
I was thinking on doing it without asking by following this tutorial on how to root a Xperia Tipo ( http://androidadvices.com/root-sony-xperia-tipo-st21a-android-phone-tutorial/ ), then I found this other one in the XDA forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890478 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971370 but the comments were somehow discouraging and the instructions were more than confusing for my slow working brain (sorry!).
Then I read that Sony Xperia Tipo does not support the unlock bootloader function ( http://2e0b66ea.yyv.co/ - from the official sony xperia website), does that mean I won't be able to install a cuztomized JB ROM?
Now, I've also searched through the forums and found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28929562#post28929562
Having said that, I would very much appreciate a rooting guide for dummies for the Sony Xperia Tipo (or should I just use one of those tutorials i posted?)
Will I be able to install the JB ROM I mentioned on my Tipo?
Thank you guys so much in advance for any future replies and I apologise for the stupidity of my question, but I had to ask before bricking my phone.
P.S: Needs to be said that I just bought the phone, so I didn't make any configurations or anything, was waitign to see if I can root my headset first.
you can unlock boot loader for tipo
as it is confirmed by sony official website
check it out...............
they updated there website..........
HI All,
Recently got a replacement for my xperia Z, a Z1 ! I had KitKat on it which came with an annoying SD card problem (I guess you all know about this issue....) I flashed to 14.2.A.1.136 Jelly Bean and Rooted with TowelRoot. All good except that my SuperSU will not update its binaries....Access to SD read/write is all OK.
I would also like to be able to use a custom ROM, iHacker's look interesting and very useful but the process seems very long winded and I don't want to try it without SuperSU working properly.
I am not bothered with KITKAT so happy to stay with Jelly Bean if necessary.
Although I am able to Flash an FTF I am still a bit green with regard to android workings so simple directions would be muchly appreciated.
I hope anyone out there can help me
PS I found StorageCow but didnt know if any of the ftf files would help my problem, guess I need the last JB firmware....
Hi,
Me advice would be to read as much as you can and get a handle on everything, then follow the instructions to the letter. Also, here's a great guide for doing most things.... And you can ask questions here,
> Sony Xperia Z1 > Xperia Z1 General > Root, Backup TA, Unlock bootloader and more! The ultimate Xperia Z1 guide
Good luck!
Much appreciated KJ
Thank you. Thread closed.

Hi,
I just bought a second hand xperia M2 Aqua in sweden. But when i plug my connect my phone to PC companion everything is in Turkish (according to google translate). As far as i know the custom firmware, or something, is turkish.
Is there any way i can change the firmware back to nordic/original?
On the box the phone came with it says:
D2403
SI 1288-4599.3 NO, FI, IS, SV, DA
and then i check the service menu *#*#7378423#*#* and go to the service menu i get the following info:
Phone software info: 1286-4792_18.6.A.0.175 Generic user
Filesystem version: GLOBAL-LTE_18.6.A.0.175
S1 boot version: 1274-7024 Si_Boot_MSM8x26_LA1.0_39
Customization Version: 1288-7206_R3C
I would relly appriciate some help with this. I've tried to youtube and google it but I can't find any solution.
Hi,
There's a dedicated section for your device here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2
You'll find lots of info there, and questions can be asked in the Q&A section.
I also found this thread with stock firmwares, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762296
Good luck!
Thank for the answer. The problem is that my model (D2403) isnt listed there and i think its the costomization version and not the software version that needs to be changed.
I forgot to say that Im running android 5.1.1.
You could ask in the firmware thread, or create your own thread in the devices Q&A section then. :good:
