Lost Data Connectivity - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone;
Am having this problem and it's really annoying, i searched the forum before posting, and didn't find something related to this.
So my problem is that i totally lost my Data connectivity, no 3G no LTE, i checked the APN parameters and it was all correct.
Meanwhile i have totally no problem with WIFI, i flashed the radio, and didn't help.
For information my operator is French "FREE".
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best Regards

Any help please!?

The best recommendation that I can give you is to try to get a better radio (modem flash) on your device. My experience with the one plus has not been the best. I was having the same problems as you on Att US flashed a different modem and it works better, but is not great. Oneplus did replace the phone for me. (it only took them 2 months)

1st put on some flame retardant, 2nd you should try duttys thread, not start a new one, how long have you been running this rom, did you hard reset after the first flash, have you tried to reflash, have you tried a different radio, radios make a huge difference base on location, many radio threads out there, and last if it has to many bugs try another rom, i have used this rom and i love it.

Minus the rudeness, you actually helped because I didn't know if it was the rom or radio. And for the record I did search for my specific problem using keywords. I'll try changing the radio because I can connect to the internet..its just edge is faster than my dumb phone. If all else fails, Ill sell the crap.
Thanks for your assistance.

He wasn't being rude, you should post this in the thread for dutty's rom. My guess normally would be that you don't have 3G turned on, rather than a radio or a rom issue, as i remember several of dutty's roms do not have 3g enabled by default. bit apparently you're getting a 3G signal. Have you tried other roms to be sure it's somethign rom specific and not your network? In the future post your questions in the appropriate thread to TRY to reduce the clutter in the forum. Also, it is the xda policy, so there's another reason to do it.

T-Moblie service issue?

Just want to know if its just me or other people also. Lately even when I have service I don't actually have service..... Internet won't work/don't get texts I have to restart my phone to get it working again. Just want to know if it my phone or the service. Im running on [ROM-Leak][ODIN] Gingerbread 2.3.4 T959VUVKG4.
I had a similar issue coupke if weeks ago. Lasted about a day here. do you have the problem when using wifi too?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
No I have no issues with wifi.. This has been going on for about 3 days now... it pissing me off....
You could try flashing another modem and see if it gives you better results. It might just be that KG4 isn't good for your area.
um go To Wirless & networks then go to Mobile Networks Network operators and hit search now.. and when tmobile comes up click on it... try that see if it works
i don't know if this is considered a service issue or not though, but i did have a couple of calls that did not go through and i'm on Valhalla 1.3.2.
Anyone else you know in your area on T-Mobile? If so are they having an issue? If not, definitely turn off the phone, reseat the SIM (if it's old, go get a new one), then see if it's better. If not, try what bkoon said. Let us know how it goes.

I'm still new to this so I don't know how to flash a modem/what exactly a modem is but I will look it up and see.
Also I didn't say it in the OP but this happens randomly. I sometimes go for almost the whole day without it doing this and sometimes it happens 10 mins after I turn on my phone.

If she's having a similar issue on a totally different phone it would seem to be a T-Mobile issue. Does it only happen in a certain area (your house, places you go/hang out, etc.) or all over the city?

Ah, I misunderstood. I thought you meant she has the same issue. What about doing a factory data reset & also reseating the SIM? Barring that, maybe flash a new ROM onto it to see if that helps. As bkoon alluded to, some modems (the part that talks to T-Mobile as well as wifi) work better in some areas than in others. Flashing a different ROM via ODIN would give you a different modem.
If you just want to flash the modem itself via ODIN, take a look in the developer forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192436). You open ODIN, put the modem file in the "PHONE" location, and hit start.
If you need help, let me know & I'll help in any way I can.

I have to admit I'm CWM stupid Iv'e only ever flashed dsexton's Adrenaline Shot from CWM. I've never flashed a new ROM that way. I imagine it's the same as flashing any other ZIP, though. Tell me what steps you followed & where you're stuck & I'll do my best to help.
I'm more of an ODIN guy, but that's because I'm fairly new to this too.

We have not been monitoring carefully, however it may be in areas where reception is poor.

Well the thing is I have full bars and even says 4G but it acts like I have no service(also this only started recently and I used to never have problems). It hasn't happened since I installed a new ROM yet but I have only had the ROM for about 5 hours. I am going to try out modems also to see if I can get better reception in some areas, but I have never changed the modem before so we will see how it all goes.

Strange problems with Mobile Data and also with landscape...what can i do?

Hi guys,
i write because i don't know what to do.
I have two strange problems on my Nexus 5, the first (less important) is that when i put the phone in landscape it starts to lag, but after a few seconds it works fine...this problem is less important because a reboot ever fix the problem...but what can be the cause?
The second problem that is bad and it is that i have issues with my mobile data...when i tried to use internet it is really slow and it doesn't work fine...in first place i thought to some network problems but people with Nexus 5 and also other phones told me that they haven't any problem with the same carrier.
Then i clean flash a new rom (Carbon Rom) and i noticed that the problem was gone..however after some strange reboot in calls i decided to revert to stock rom (again with clean flash) and the problem with network is here again! Is a baseband (modem) issue? Maybe the Carbon Rom uses a different baseband?
I tried also to disable Xposed (that i use on stock rom and that there isn't in Carbon) but the problem is still here!
Of course i installed the same apps on Carbon and on Stock then i was in the same conditions. I used franco kernel (both on stock and Carbon) and changing kernel is the unique thing that i didn't make but i think it's useless!
What are your advices? Thanks in advance!

Well thanks for answer! It's nice to see that i'm not the only one! However (at least in my case) is really strange...because i have friends with the same configuration (Nexus 5 and same carrier) and all work fine! But it's also strange that if i try another rom and i leave in the same condition of the stock the custom rom work while the stock not!
When i will come home tonight i will try to flash another modem...maybe is this the problem!

Changing your modem will have an effect on your reception, not necessarily your speeds. That's usually determined by your carrier - you might want to make sure you're using the correct APN they specify. You can get them on their website. Also it could be the sim card you're using, whether or not it's LTE-compatible, or it could be the area you're in that's causing your speed troubles trouble.
As you can see, there's really no one way to fi things like this... you sort of have to troubleshoot it yourself, unfortunately.
Regarding Carbon rom, it won't change your modem - that's something you'll have to manually flash.

First of all thanks for answer! Well is not necessarily slow.. It's like a connection drop.. And like you can see is not a problem in my area with my carrier but something that only I have.. There is the lte in my area but I haven't a plan with lte connection then I set my phone in a way that he didn't search for lte! I will try the modem and if it won't work I will switch on a custom rom.. The strange thing is also that with carbon I haven't any trouble but with stock yes..

[Q] Mobile network drops out after ColorOS > CM11s

Hi all, I've stayed up way too late trying to resolve this issue, so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction...
I have a Chinese 16GB OPO on which I have flashed CM11s. Initially everything seemed fine, but I soon noticed that the mobile network was dropping out at random. I did not have this problem with ColorOS.
I have tried installing CM11s via both the recovery mode and fastboot methods (I read elsewhere that this might make a difference), but in my case the result is the same either way. I have also verified that my APN settings are correct (for the record, I am in Australia and on the Optus network).
Can anyone give me any pointers - or would I better advised to try a different ROM? Most grateful for any advice offered.

Yeah, I've noticed a couple of other reports that may relate to the same issue...and while I'm good at following instructions unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to ascertain what the problem might be.
I have just tried Paranoid Android, and the issue persists. Perhaps I'll just have to go back to ColorOS for now... unless someone can suggest an alternative?

[SOLVED] Phone Doesn't Automatically Regain Data Connection

Hi guys, I am currently experiencing a very annoying problem on my OnePlus One. If I go to a place with bad reception or no mobile data available, my phone won't automatically get connection on good reception area before I reboot it.
Let's say I have good signal strength and working mobile data on my room, but my kitchen has bad signal strength and no mobile data. If I went to the kitchen and let the phone loses reception and mobile data, then go back to my room, my phone will have no reception and no mobile data unless I reboot it. Usually I can just turn on Airplane mode and turn it off so my phone can reinitialize the reception but not anymore.
I noticed this problem since I flashed Cyanogenmod Snapshot 13.0-20160819 (ZNH5YAO0IN). This problem is very annoying especially when I am outside because I often found myself missing lots of Whatsapp texts since I don't realize my phone doesn't have any mobile data.
What do you suggest to fix this problem? Any help is appreciated.
Try changing rom?... We have lots of good Nougat ROMs.
You can flash a new modem, go through the one plus one sections.Only if you're rooted.
Else you try formatting the phone, obviously with data backup.
Hope it'll help. Thanks

This is a fairly common problem with the OnePlus One. It's caused by the modem version you're on. For some (including myself), the problem can be fixed by flashing the c7 modem vs the older c6 ones. But, do be warned, for some this wipes out all radios on your device (Bluetooth, wifi, LTE, etc. all break). So before you try flashing new modems, make sure you have a copy of the one your phone currently has so you can flash it in the event that your radios stop working. (I want to say a nandroid backup doesn't actually save/restore the modem firmware). Do some googling in that direction. Might just lead to a fix.

Pardon my lack of knowledge with modems, but which one from this thread can I flash? I see some marked as H20 or Oxygen update, are they tied to that specific ROM or will they work on any ROM?
They're not ROM specific. They're device specific. You'll just want to try the c7-13 one, I'm guessing. Just keep in mind the cautions I said previously.

I saw a fellow member on the same country as me flashing the C7-11 (latest available on Modem Collection thread) and it worked for him so I figured I might give it a try. So far so good, not a single problem. But hey, thanks very much for pointing me to the right direction! I was close to change my ROM and wipe everything.
Edit: 5 days passed, not a single problem encountered. Suggested fix is proven.
