Great design!
I just received mine last night. I am coming off of a m7 GPE... I absolutely love the was the m7 feels. The 6P is close to that but could use a little refinement where the screen and metal meet. Aesthetically I love a simple understated phone. This phone does that for the most part though I wish the periscope were more integrated into the design.
Great design!

I am not a fan boy but I still think that after a change from my s6 edge to 6p I am giving up on the looks of the phone.
However there are other factors which make me make the change
Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
Yes, I know it's not the best looking phone you can buy, but it's not the ugliest either. That being said, I kinda don't want a nexus that looks like aesthetics was the main priority when they designed it. In my eyes the S6 line is a bit too bling.

Get rid of the plastic bottom. The misfit due to epoxy or whatever distracts from an otherwise beautiful phone.

Do what ? where did the info come from because that's not entirely correct.
I didn't like the back camera panel bar at first when the 6P was announced but it grew on me. Plus it provides a unique contrast with the Frost color.

I couldn't locate the section to ask the question about the option of adding an sd card. But, does anyone know if it's possible?
nope. it doesn't come with a slot for sdcard. internal memory is all that is available.
First time I held it I was in love within 3 second.
Perfect fit in my hand.
Yeah
I like this phone
It looks very nice indeed, now I know why Google put this "P" in the name. But I will now have to live in constant fear of dropping this thing.
The phone is gorgeous. I love the aluminum finish and the black bar on top grows on you. I got the graphite finish and it looks great. The display is absolutely stunning. I love it. Only thing I'm not too fond of is that plastic bar on the at the bottom of the phone. Its not the same color as the rest of the body. It looks good overall but if you stare at it too long it can get to you. Other than that the phone looks great!

I have it and love it. I had it on the S3 and they have increased the quality and usability with the preview window and the ability for it stay flipped out without it flipping back to closed due to design. The fact that you can answer calls with it closed is awesome.

I was talking about the full case from Samsung not the s view cover. I ended up picking up the light blue one from a local best buy. Only had it on for an hour or so but I have to say I'm really liking this case. Doesn't add Much weight or bulkiness to the phone and still feels very solid. Pretty impressed.
Edit: my only gripe so far is that the headphone cut out is a little small. Headphones with a straight plug work just fine but if they have a curve they don't fit into the slot... kind of a bummer as I use an auxiliary cord in my car.

Review
I have this case for over a month now, and I'm pretty much happy with it. The only thing I didn't like was that here in Saudi Arabia, only 3 colors were available for sale, Blue, White and Pink. I know there is a Black/Dark Grey variant of this protective cover but unfortunately it's not available here.
Here is a simple review that I manage to put:
Official Samsung Protective Cover+ for Galaxy S4
Pros
A simple yet functional design.
Protects the whole back and sides of the phone without the bulky appearance and feel.
It also protects the glass cover of the primary camera by giving it a few millimeters of clearance from the back.
Sturdy back, conforming and flexible sides for easy installation and removal.
The cover for the Volume Rocker and Power Button is soft and easy on the fingers. Doesn't give that rigid feel like other cases on the market.
There is an available slot if you like putting a hand or neck strap on your phone.
Cons
There is a little bit of space between the phone and the case, and if left unattended, dirt may settle-in. At least monthly, remove the phone from the case and clean it with a soft moistened piece of cloth with a non-alcohol based cleaning solution.

mine came in the mail today. i gave my little mini-review of it in another thread, so this is just copy and pasted:
this case definitely lives up to all the hype i've been reading about it. the buttons respond really, really well; and it's a nice combo of soft materials on the sides and a hard plastic back. if the green was more lime (or neon), this would be my daily driver without a question. since my "negative" isn't even really a negative, i would highly recommend this case.
I hear a lot of crap, even among Google fans, about the N5 not being so great looking. I'm having trouble believing I'm the only person who thinks this device (black version without a case) is incredibly sexy... I absolutely love how minimalist it looks and how solid it feels. It doesn't look like a try-hard device. Previously the sexiest device award went to the white iPhone 4s, and then to the white S4, and then to the iPhone 5c, so I'm excited to finally have the world's sexiest phone be both a black device AND Nexus device.
I like the looks of it for sure. It might not be THE nicest looking phone out there, but it's nowhere near ugly.
I like the looks from the back but from the front it looks pretty slapped together. Just a piece of glass stuck into a body. I wish there was some sort of chamfer to the front edges.
I completely agree with you, although personally Im a huge fan of the htc one with the front facing speakers. From a visual standpoint as well as a functionality stand point I wouldnt mind see that look. Then again I also wouldnt mind seeing an aluminum body but overall, this phone IS sexy

My dream design is just a generic black monolith slate. But they did manage to throw in some subtle curves here without going overboard or looking to busy or gaudy or detracting from the minimalism. I suppose they could have done a chamfered front edge, but then I'd expect them to ditch the subtle curve on the back. You know, one or the other; curved back or chamfered front edge, but one of the surfaces needs to be flat (incidentally, Apple got this right with iPhone 5/5s, although that's about all they got right with that particular design).

Yes. I want to have sex with it.
It's sexy because it's not trying to be. Less is more! Modesty win!
The fact that it is so simple and plain is what makes it so sexy. Find it funny that a lot of reviews point that out as a negative but I have more people asking me about this phone when I put it down.

It's definitely sexy. I hated the look of the N4. It was just so... Squarish. I like that this one has a taller and thinner profile. It just has so many flaws, I don't even know where to begin. I'm sure many others will agree with me.
The build quality is just too good. It is so fast, I can't even see any animations. I need lag in my browser, or it just feels fake. The battery life lasts way too long for me to be able to break in the charger that came with it. The back is so smooth, I think I'm going to drop it. People are always wanting to see my phone, because it "looks so cool", that I can never play with it myself.

I have a clear gel case on mine and imo it completes the phone. The metal finish is to slick...i'd drop it for sure. With the gel case its 100% easier to grip, its not slippery and doesnt add bulk to the phone. Also with it being clear you can still see the beautiful design of this beast. I cant say a darn thing bad about this phone

There's a few test videos on YouTube, drop tests from 4ft/7ft/10ft, one of the tests was between the M7 and M8 and the other was between the M8, the G S5 and the iPhone 5S, the M8 got the best results in both test, only finally cracking at the 10ft mark in the latter video, not cracking at all in the M7/M8 video. Also another video shows scratch tests with a key, butchers knife, pocket knife and a hammer. Though it was hard to see in the video, the guy recording said there was next-to-no, if not NO scratches on the device, even after hitting it pretty hard with a hammer, though he used the back of the hammer and finally cracked it.
I think it's safe to say this phone is near indestructible, not saying you shouldn't still baby it but you can feel better about an accident that may happen if you drop it or what not, not to mention the 6 month screen crack insurance from HTC Advantage

I had the clear case with the black perimeter which I purchased with the phone at Big Red's store. I'm not sure, but I think the way the case's rubber sides was such that while taking off the case to access the microsd card I may have bent the metal near the volume buttons. That troubled me and forced me to put that case away. Big Red, thankfully, replaced my handset about a week later (I bought mine at 1:15 p.m. on 3/25/14), and I put a crystal clear TPU case on it which lets the Arctic Silver finish shine through.
I'm actually going to get my second replacement today... First had a small nick in the upper left corner, now this one has a strange bump in the center below the bottom speaker, resulting in warped metal. It wasn't there when I got it, but after some use it showed up. I guess be careful about applying pressure to the bottom corners of the device?
I feel like I'm being nitpicky, but idk... These are pretty glaring IMO.
Hopefully thirds a charm.

Beware of clear TPU: it will turn yellow over time... At least matte finish ones will.
I think diztronic makes the best slim and protective TPU cases. I recently got a translucent gray for my gray metal M8 and it's been great so far. Can't see all of the device's beauty, but it is see through.

No size issue here coming from an S6 Edge... The note 5 is bulkier.
After owning and enjoying four Nexus phones (GNex–N6) I switched to the Galaxy S6 because the N6 was just too bulky. After suffering through TouchWiz for a few months I'm back on Team Nexus and I was worried about going back to a "big" phone. I'm happy to say that this phone is so much more manageable than the N6 was. Most of the time I can reach my thumbs across to the opposite side of the phone without issue (upper corner opposite side takes some additional effort). Even with a TPU case on it still feels smaller than the N6 did. I'm anxiously awaiting my Spigen Thin Fit case so bring the mass back down a little.
My OnePlus one feels so tiny now, and I'm enjoying the feel quite a lot. That being said I've gotten pretty good at the slide technique so my thumb can hit something in the top left corner then reaching back down with my pinky for support. One handed use is a little diminished, but oh so worth it.
The phone is a bit too heavy - something one needs to consider if they have a problem with heavier phones. The s6 edge+ for instance feels incredibly light!
For me the size is great. I do like the fell with a small case on the phone better tough( easier to grip)
Came from a Note 4 to N6P. It feels substantially smaller. The Note 4 was a brick in it's case. I guess I have big hands, as the N6P seems small to me.

Same. It feels nicer in one hand too. The back is gentle with soft slopes that raises to a sharper point, where it meets the glass. That gives you a good grip with even one hand (If you have big hands). The finger print reader is in the best spot for 90% of it's usage time. The Nexus 6P feels quite long when held in landscape mode, but that's nice when watching movies or playing games. Most of the time you will be using both hands while using the device. Even with my large hands it's a tight fit to go end to end. The 6P is very nice to use as a camera with the hardware buttons. The sharp mechanical clicks are nice and pleasing.
I don't have any complaints with the size, but I never did with my Nexus 6 either. Both phones are possible for one-handed operation but the Nexus 6P is a little on the top heavy side. It's this imbalance compared to the Nexus 6 that makes the phone more of a challenge to use one-handed. The Nexus 6 was very easy to balance on one finger with the dimple. With the Nexus 6P, you have to hold the phone closer to the top to ensure it doesn't flop out of your hand. Maybe it's just me but it feels a little awkward by comparison.
Edged are a bit "sharp" but overall, fits in the hand as any big screened phone would
Hello,
some of my previous phones (I use a phone ~95% one handed)
galaxy s6: too small, but feels nice,
m9: same as the s6 but "slippery",
Note 4: uncomfortable to hold, for me the most un-ergonomic device I've ever had,
lg g3: perfect size, awesome ergonomics - mad electronics ?
Now you hopefully have an idea how to rate my post..
The 6p is a big guy and I agree with jcsww that it's top is a little overweight but by the fact that the phone is slightly curved at the back (sideways), it feels much more comfortable my hand than the note 4 and provides the same screen size. The edges of the N6P feel a bit sharp, but not too sharp, I get a nice grip (I prefer this kind of feedback more than the slipperiness of the m9).
To sum up: size and ergonomics of the Nexus are nearly perfect, only to pull down the status bar isn't easy. This last point is more tricky because of the heavy top of the phone.
While typing it's not the biggest deal in the world, placing the index finger in the area of the fingerprint sensor gives a good stability - sadly it seems to be impossible to pull down the quick settings while holding the phone in this position.
However, the nexus is g8.
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 6P mit Tapatalk
Just the right size. The N6 felt too big in when held in my hands, the 6P just sits right.
I see some people saying its too heavy while i'd disagree with this my iPhone 6+ is just smaller but heavier and using it after the Nexus you can notice it the Nexus feels great in hand! If only it had the 6+ battery then it'd be perfect
Excellent build and feel. Prefer a case on it, as i have for all my phones, just feels slippery to me if it didn't have a case on it. To me its the right size
Coming from a N5 for the past 2 years. The 6P is a lot bigger for sure, but I wouldn't say uncomfortably large. It's amazingly slim for such a large phone though, and even with a Spigen Tough Armor case on it, I'm getting used to the size. Average-sized hands.
As mentioned previously, the phone feels extremely solid and well-built. I actually like the hefty weight to it too. Actually feels like you have something in your hand.
I feel that this is quite uncomfortable to hold. I used to be complaining about the s6 edge because of the edges but have to say that the size of that thing was much much better (for me)
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Compared to the LG G3, the in-hand feel is worse. The G3 is lightweight and the in-hand feel is pretty good, because of the rounded corners.
Very very slippery. But very comfortable later with a Case On.

feel like my hams are going to hulk smash these uber thin phones now. its getting so thin, it leaves me feeling like i dont have a grip on it. bit slippery, another week for a case to arrive.
idk how to truly feel. Honestly...it is the cheapest flagship feeling phone overall. I have it next to an S8+ and the S8+ just feels so much nicer... as for the ergonomics of the phone...with a normal duty case, it feels like the Nexus 6 I replaced it with. slightly large and I have an average sized hand. Over all, I give it a 2.5/5, but since I cannot give it that, it is a 2/5 for me. Truly...the feel is very just 'bleh' to me.
I love the feeling of this phone. I like how hefty it is, doesn't feel like an S8 or V30 that will break on first drop.
The texture feels awesome, I thought a case was installed already when I pulled out of the box.. ?

I moved from Shamu, I prefer this phone being slightly narrower. I don't care for the hollow sound when tapping the screen though.
Like slamming a car door, it sounds cheap.

big issue
The phone feels nice overall but 1 thing, which is bothering me significantly.
When I hold the phone in my hand I put my pinkie (little finger) at the bottom for better support so I don't drop it.
The issue is the charging port (usb c hole) is cut so sharply that it feels like a plastic knife scratching my skin, sure you think it's no biggie but after awhile it becomes very irritating.
Am I alone on this? Has anyone else noticed?

I keep my pinkies to the sides of the USB port whether one handed or two. I also have a TPU case so even if my finger was in the middle, I don't notice it.

It's as comfortable as I would expect for a phone as big as it is. Having a really hard time getting used to having to use 2 hands to do almost anything. I was going to get the smaller one but I've already experienced what kind of battery life you get from a 2700mAh battery powering a 1080p screen and I didn't want to go though that again.
Does anyone know if the texture of the back on the black version is different from the one on the black+white? It seems the black+white is more smooth and plastic feeling, while the black has a more rubbery/matte texture? Can anyone confirm this?

+1 I think MKDHD. The white is less grippy.

I know MKBHD mentioned it but it's not a huge difference in feel.

Downstairs feel as comfortable as it's cousin the V30
The phone feels comfortable with a solid build. But I have to thank the loopy case 4 providing a much more secure feel when holding and using the phone. I don't worry about dropping the phone.
I hated how chunky my 2XL felt at first, compared to the old OP5 it is quite obese feeling. After a couple days it started to feel like my old shamu and we are getting along like old friends now.
