Hi,
Just to make sure if I say turn out
i have a problem with my Surface RT (first generation) and i hope you can help me to solve it.
Sometimes the screen is black when i wake my surface from standby with the power button. It still works i know because if i wipe up to down the little camera LED turns on and i get an feedback from the windows button. Only the screen stays black.
There is also an Problem with the IE the menu (tabs, address bar,... ) sometimes stay black. And if I turn the surface off (standby) with the powerbutton and wake it up again, I have the problem descripted above.
Solution: hold the powerbutton until the surface is power off and restart it.
Other solution: Go to Desktop, hold the Taskbar and open the Taskmanager. When it opens the screen becomes black for a few seconds and then everything is fine.
Problem with the latest solution is that I need to check the Taskmanager every time I want to standby my surface.
Cause: I noticed that the problem happens only after I played a game (AOE Castle Siege, AC Unity Companion,...)
I hope you can help me to find the real cause of the problem and how to solve it

I have a Fuze that wants to shutdown all the time. I usually run EnergyRom on it and the slide to shutdown screen keeps popping up. When I run a stock rom on it, it also shuts down, as if someones holding the power button.
has anyone ran into this issue or have any idea how to fix it? I've searched for a while and can't find anything.
thanks!
Opening up the phone enough to get to the point that you can remove the power button itself and clean that area of the phone should fix the problem.
This even helped me on my previous phone where I thought the button was losing sensitivity. After reassembly the button worked beautifully again.
I had the same problem...and then all of a sudden my power button stopped working altogether...its weird because it works fine to turn the phone on, but once it boots it doesnt turn off the screen or bring up the shut down menu or anything
how did you manage to remove it to clean it out?
My replacement HTC 7 Pro seems to have very poor battery life - dead by early evening even when hardly used. Then I noticed that the keyboard backlight doesn't turn off, even when I press the power button to force it into standby! It does go off if I do a full power down.
I can even see, by peering though the small gap in a dark room, that the keys are still lit up even when the phone is closed!
Before I send it in for yet another repair, can someone confirm this isn't supposed to happen?
Looks like you will need to send it back for repair. My 7 pro only lights the keyboard up when slid open or a key is pressed. It only stays on for about 10 seconds after the last key is pressed.
Hi,
Since 1 month my Nexus 5 has a weird bug : when I hit the power button, it seems to be activated twice or more, the screen shows "screen on / screen off". So when I want to screen on my phone, it's immediately followed by a screen off, and when I want to screen off it, it screen on.
More embarrassing, the power button seems to remain pressed sometimes and induces random reboots or power off my phone.
I suppose it's a physical problem with the power button which may got dust inside his mecanism. So I wonder if anyone of you have an idea to fix it. Maybe by opening the phone and scratch it with a smooth brush it can be cleaned ?
Thank you in advance for your help....
Hi guys, I just got a uleFone U007, and having a black screen problem.
The thing is that, after every few hours when I press the power button to unlock the phone, the screen stays black .
I am able to blindly unlock it by swiping on the screen, and I can feel that the screen in responding in background.
The navigation buttons are also responding (phone vibrates on touch).
However the screen still says black. And if I restart it (keep power button pressed), the screen is coming back, but again, only for few hours.
Do you know of any solutions for that? For me it seems like a software issue rather then a hardware problem. A GUI crash...
Also if any ideas on how to further investigate that will be helpful.
Thanks

Are you on the latest update? is your phone rooted?
Hi Ive had the Galaxy S8 about slightly more than a week, and Im facing this recurring issue whereby the pressure-sensitive home button starts to take light taps as heavy presses, and on some occasions when i turn off the screen, it turns on by itself thinking that I made a hard press. I can feel it as the vibration motors are activated. I tested it using *#0*#, but it works perfectly fine there. Anyone else facing these issues? Can anyone tell me if this is a hardware fault or software?
I've just witnessed it turned phone off and back on and back to normal now had over a week only known this happen once about an hour ago
Never seen it turn on my accident, but it does glitch out sometimes. At times it can register a touch as a hard-press, and it does the double vibration every time I touch the home button. This is fixed with a screen off - screen on switch though, so not a problem for me, and I haven't experienced it after the new update
Got myself the S8 secondhand and while it looks immaculate, I also have this problem. At times the pressure sensitivity doesn't work at all, sometimes it will go through periods of immediately pressing and depressing, and sometimes it'll register a soft press of the home button as a hard press.
Think this is a hardware error? I've tried this in Ultra Power Saving mode and without my case on, and it's always repeatable.

I'm having the double vibration when I hard press the home button problem. It's a hardware problem? And how to fix it? I didn't understand the screen off - screen on switch solution

Double vibration? Isn't that what is meant to happen? The first vibration when pressing down simulates a real physical button being pushed down, and the second vibration when lifting your finger simulates you releasing the physical button. It's meant to happen, and it's not a hardware or a software problem.
What I meant with screen off - screen on solution is simply turning the screen off, and turning it back on again. It fixes a problem that occurs to me at times, where the double vibration happens every time I tap the virtual home button. Normally it's only meant to happen when pressing the virtual home button forcefully, not on light taps where no pressure is applied.
If the phone is in standby, with display turned off, if you double press the home button, or you keep it pressed, the phone will get back to phone mode with emergency call only. How to disable that damned festure? ?
