So I installed 4.2.2 from an AOKP file and I am having some difficulties with the phone so I was going to another factory wipe and install the milestone from the AOKP site. Problem is in clockwork I only see the old zip file and I can't seem to find anyway to get rid of it.
How do I get rid of old zip files?
I also have a tone of zip files for apps I don't care about showing up on CWM. Anyway to get rid of them?
Why can I not see the new milstone AOKP zip as well?
I also seem to have to put the GAPPS file on the external SD card. Is that normal?
Help please and thanks
P.S. I was just able to install the AOKP zip from the external sd, but it is still not showing up on internal sd
So I recently flashed deadwood01's "MIUI 2.12.21" and I loved the rom but I always get "force stops" so I decided to go back to my old rom which is kk9999gada's "inspiration rom". I have my backup of that rom in my pc but I don't know how to put it in my phone. Whenever I connect my phone to my pc via usb, I can't access my files. I thought of using dropbox to transfer the backup but I can't download dropbox in my phone since the MIUI rom don't have google play installed. So I downloaded gapps but I realized that i won't be able to put gapps in my phone since I cant connect it to the pc.
Sorry for the long post but any help or advice would be much appreciated.

If you have a Nandroid Backup of Inspiration Rom just transfer the folder named "clockworkmod" to external sdcard and restore it using CWM.
Give me "thanks" from that button!

uhmm thanks for that response! But unfortunately, I don't have any external sdcard. I only use the internal sdcard soo I wouldn't be able to do that.. Do you have any more suggestions?

Flash stock rom(or any other rom but i recomend stock) with odin v3(or CWM if is custom rom) and again flash CWM and root it. After that copy the backup in root of internal sdcard and in CWM (i recomend to install v6.x.x) select restore from internal sdcard.
Give me "thanks" from that button!

Maybe is a compatibility and I suggest him to install latest Kies and check the usb cable. If no he can try from another PC or he must go to Samsung Care Centre(or another service because is rooted). It says that he can't acces the internal memory but /system , /data and /emmc are different partitions so flashing through download mode should be easy.Or he can to try to download Dropbox.apk from Internet app(if that rom have it).
Give me "thanks" from that button!

If you download kies but cannot connect to PC.
You could try this and it will help you download the latest USB driver.
http://www.solvusoft.com/zh-tw/update/驅動程式/行動電話/samsung/gsm-3g/gt-s7500/model-numbers/
When you are using custom rom, you could not connct by kies because it is official software.
what about kies air? or you dont have it?
If he uses custom ROM, he could not use official software like kies.

I've already found a solution, I just downloaded gapps directly from the MIUI's browser and have installed gapps perfectly. From there on, I downloaded everything that I needed. My problem is solved and thanks for all your suggestions ^^
Create clockworkmod folder in internal sdcard. For CWM V6.0.3.5 have an option call restore from internal sdcard then click on that and locate your backup file.If you dont have CWM 6.0.3.5,go and search it in the ace plus development forum and flash it before restoring your backup
Click Thanks if i helped!!
Hello,
So I was successful in installing CM 10.2 onto my Nook HD plus (put it on sd card, installed it onto internal storage).
So obviously I was able to flash CM 10.2 fine, but for some strange reason, GAPPS 4.3 will not install (CWM says it was successful, but booting it back up, don't see any Google Apps )
The Nook itself does not have a custom recovery installed. The SD card I used to install CM 10.2 I guess is considered recovery (both the sd card and internal storage had GAPPS, neither worked).
PLEASE HELP! I'm really panicking right now, PLEASE HELP ME ASAP! Without GAPPS, this whole procedure was a waste of my time, so if someone can please help me figure this out, it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
can someone please help me! I am really worried about my device right now!
Some time back the same happened ob my phone google apps in recovery says installed but when i boot the mobile I was unable to fing any apps then what i did was copy the gapps zip file on to your computer extract the zip file and extract all the apk files with google written in thenlm and gmail and google play dont install maps or other apk which are avaliable on market gmail apk is required to login into the market then put all thoses apk files in one folder and copy it to your sd card . If you do not have any explorer in your phone search browser apk on google from tablet browser and download it and then install it open it find the folder in sd card and install all the apk from it then open google play login gmail and start downloading apps . It worked for me hope it works for you to .

Hi I'm a little bit confused and lost between stock recovery, cwm, rom manager and my new SD card.
I browsed 100s of threads and watch alot of good and some not so good videos but 'im still not sure what my best next moves are and why some things dont work.
I have a
Sansung GT i9300
Anroid 4.1.2
Baseband I900XXEMC2
Kernel 3.0.31-1032335 [email protected]#1SMP PEEMPT Mon March11 ..KST 2013
Build JZO54K.I9300XXEMC2
I wanted to use apps like Titanium BackUpPro and Avast so I rooted my phone flashing CWM v3.55 via Odin and have been using it with out any problems for a while.
Then I decided that I would like to flash a custom rom like cm and I downloaded Rom Manager thinking it to be the right tool... ?
I let Rom Manager flash the latest version of CWM recovery 6.0.4.6 ...
but when I look on the apps on my phone I find CWM v3.55-Chainfire ? and
if I try to update I get directed to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
When booting in rcovery mode my phone enters the android system recovery e3 and I get an Error message:
E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument)
What exactly does this mean ???
Should I try flashing CWM 6 non toutch via Odin or flash back stock ROM?
I thought I would try backing up to an ext SD card so I orderd a SanDisc mircosd 64GB card but the problem still remains.
I still cant back up my ROM using ROM Manager or CWM
Why ? What happend?
I tried formating the SD card with ROM Magager but SD card fails to load. I tried formating with gparted fat32. Still wont load...
The ext SD card shows up in the file exlporer on my phone just fine but
I can't seem to be able to get Rom Manager to recognize it and CWM recovery isn't working.
So instead of backin up my exsiting ROM to the SD card maybe it would be a better idea to install CWM and CM to the SD card
and keep my ROM on the internal SD as it is???
I tried creating a bootable ext sd card with CWM and CM like here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_acclaim
but when it comes to booting the phone in recovery mode I still get the E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument) message....?
How do I boot from ext sd card?
Whats my next best move?
I have a working rooted ROM on my local SD card with all my apps backed up in clowd. But my recovery mode issue remains to be resolved.
and I have a 64GB ext SD card with CWM and CM on it but I can't install with Rom Manager? because SD card fails to load.
Thanks for trying to follow so far!!!!

First option:
1- Download Philz recovery from: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.07.9-i9300.tar.md5
and flash it with odin 3.07or newer
2- Downlad SuperSu root from: http://vk.com/doc167892454_171297436?hash=877f29ccdb4e944a70&dl=28aabb49a7217e1962, copy to your device, go to recovery mode and do 'install zip from...'
Second option:
1- Download CF-Auto Root from http://download.chainfire.eu/229/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip, extract and flash it with odin (that should enable root permissions in your device).
2- Download CWM Manager from PlayStore and do a flash, or better- flash the Philz recovery as above (you don't neet the root file)
Follow the Odin packages instructions...?

Yep, follow it,
And yes- both backup and exSD use (called sdCard0 in the recovery), here's the developer's thread & guide:

Easy way to flash CWM or Touch wiz is to download EZ-Recovery from the play store, open the app scroll to recovery, click recovery and choose which one you want and click flash. Done. I personally like TW.
