I've read a couple of forum's relating to the same incident, but no solution has really worked for me. So, I have an LG G3 D855. Which I preordered. I had decided to root the phone, and was working fine. by the 29th of November 2014, my play store had stopped working. I had contacted google and they said they can't do anything about it since I had rooted the phone. I then decided to unroot the phone, which didn't work, and perform a complete factory reset. And still nothing. I've only brought this problem up now because the digitiser broke and I have only recently performed a D.I.Y fix on the screen. It currently has the latest update, and I still cannot use the play store. Another forum said to root the phone and use the app 'root explorer' to remove a couple of files. however I recently attempted to root via purpledrake and came up with error, which told me I am unable to root the phone with the latest update. I also do not own a windows computer, only mac… which makes things a little more difficult.
If anyone could please help me it would greatly appreciated.

Hi,
My first piece of advice is to read up on everything, learn about what you are doing to your phone. Just following instructions is great, but without learning what you're actually doing can lead to big trouble.
That said, You've already asked us on Assist about this, and we're given a link to ask for help in. Which you did, and had a reply. But you didn't follow up with them if the advice you were given didn't work.
Please use the thread we gave you in your last thread. If that doesn't work for you, post a new one here,
> LG G2 > G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
We aren't here for support, only helping members navigate the site. You've been shown where to find help. ?
Thank you for understanding. Thread closed.

If you are running Lollipop, there is no work around. It's a new, anti-theft security feature from Google.
While there is no specific forum for your LG Tribute (sorry about that), you can go to the following forum and post your question, maybe one of our experts can help you > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257421

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
I think something less sinister than popups and redirects being built into the ROM is going on. The first thing to do is download a root checker app, and make sure you are not rooted without knowing about it (as it will affect the next step).
The other thing to do is a factory reset. Be aware, this will wipe apps downloaded, settings, and in some cases pictures taken and other files downloaded. It will, though, keep the operating system / firmware / ROM intact (which is a good thing).
Once that is done, and basic setup is done, don't install any apps yet. Browse around with the stock browser and see if any of the weirdness has returned. If it hasn't, then congratulations, it was a rouge app. If the weirdness persists, then it could be either a clever rouge app (virus), or you may have been right after all.
If it does persist, then please add a post to this thread:

SM-900V (Verizon Note 3) rooted at 4.4.2 using towelroot. This morning found wifi button greyed out, cannot wifi. during troubleshooting discovered apparant loss of root, supersu launches to a black screen and nothing is ever granted superuser. Root check app reports no response. What is most appropriate forum to request assistance? Thank you
Hi.
I would suggest you start a thread in the Verizon Note 3 Q&A forum.
In that forum there will be experts with the Note 3 that will help you to solve your issue.
Best of luck!
Hi, I am having issues with my Doogee X5 pro since I did an OTA update from R12 (i think, or possibly from R15) to R17.
Since the update the phone will not boot, it just stops at the DOOGEE logo and goes no further. Of course I have done the usual factory reset through the recovery menu. I should point out that this error is possibly my fault as I did root/unroot the phone prior to the update.
What I am asking from XDA assist is help finding a method to reinstall a stock rom, as this will probably resolve the issue. I have looked all over the web and through the XDA forums for a guide to flash the stock rom, but any guides I have found either do not explain the complete steps properly or the associated download links do not work. It would appear that flashing the X5 is not as simple as say a Galaxy S2 (which I have done before).
I was going to post a question in the forums to see if some one could explain to me how to to this, but I thought it would be right to ask XDA assist first to see if this has already been done (although I have been unable to find it).
many thanks,
MD
