Edit: It comes with the Play store so dont flash gapps as I had FC during setup when I did

You flash the weekly update via recovery

Being new to this whole thing. If I flash a new ROM, the 5.10.29 up from 5.10.22, via TWRP will it keep all of my MIUI settings or will it wipe them?

I did it this way with wiping cache and dalvik cache BEFORE and AFTER the update. Worked fine for me - and kept all settings.

It depends on the update most of the time dalvik and cache are enough sometimes it's something along the line of :
Format cache, dalvik cache, system.
Flash ROM.
Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
Reboot.

Just a heads up, we should see a new build today due to bug fixes
1. Google play services might FC in some cases
Solution:
1) Turn off network and connect again
2) If solution 1) doesn't work, restrict the data usage of Google play services
3) If the above methods still don't work, uninstall Google play services

If you have more details about this then post here so I can mention in the xiaomi forum, or you can. But YouTube and download manager, then its not slow. If they disabled what you said, shouldn't everything be slow?

I have the same issue, anything downloading from the play store is about 300kb/s while downloading from websites or streaming video is 4/5mb/s

I've been reading so much information about this, but still I feel kinda lost There seem to be no clear directions about what TWRP to download and flash etc.
Does it matter what TWRP version you use when flashing this? Do you have a quick link to a compatible TWRP 2.8.7.1? I've looked at the thread on miui.com but it seems only 2.8.7.0 is available there?
Edit: Uh.. I found 2.8.7.1 v2 and v3 in this thread, will v3 be possible to use?
Edit2: Nevermind, I solved it all. Temporarily booted into TWRP 2.8.7.0 with "fastboot boot recovery.img". Did a backup, and then I flashed Xiaomi.eu ROM and SuperSU. Everything works fine Permanently flashed TWRP 2.8.7.1 v3 through Flashify. Is it better to use the Chinese Dev ROM, instead of the Xiaomi.eu ROM? Or are they basically the same?

Chinese Dev ROM has chinese apps and only english+chinese language.
Xiaomi.eu ROM is a "slimmed dev ROM" so basicly an unofficially custom ROM with a lot of new languages added and based on the (weekly) Dev stock rom.

Unfortunately there is Still no solution for the slow Playstore download, as well as document ui force close when picking something with snapseed for example!
Also National rolling for Austria needs updates to the framework-res.apk as well as spn-conf updates due to incorrect carrier names. Is it in any way possible to commit this changes some how?

I can't seem to change wallpapere unless I apply with nova launcher. But can't seem to find where to change the lockscreen wallpaper

You must switch to miui launcher, change your wallpaper and it will ask you where you want it to be applied (lockscreen, homescreen or both). Then switch back to nova

Is there a reason why it wants to Force close on theme changing and other programs? sometimes when im going through my contacts ill get a force close as well?
i love this rom and would love to keep using it , just want to get this theme problem fixed, i cannot edit any themes

Lang can be changed to english at start. Baseband can be changed either in rom or via defy baseband switcher(my preference) i think.

Really, it is getting better on every update. 3.4.12 fixed some of the bugs in my Defy:
#Notification bug (no notifications in the notification bar) - FIXED
#Lock screen (no lockscreen) - FIXED
#Browser (not opening) - FIXED
#Call (getting cut after one ring) - FIXED
Haven't tested the GPS yet. There was a problem after the first boot while Google sync, a message popped up every time saying "Settings has stopped". I skipped the sync and later added account from Settings.
This is getting very close to being a perfect ROM for daily use. :victory:

My Defy kept rebooting every twenty seconds. And I got "Goggle Text To Speech engine has stopped".
Edit: I also got this error with latest stable 4.2.2. No reboot, though, just the TTS error. I searched on goggle and there's little help about this issue. I might be alone in that case. If someone had any idea about how to fix this issue, that would be nice. (I tried installing gapps twice already).

all i know is tts error is a known bug in 4.2.2..
try to wipe file system and flash rom again..this may help...:good:

I also got Goggle Text To Speech engine has stopped with my 4.2.2 by quarx.. but it seems ok now a after a reboot

Installed with no error
Although installed with no error..very neat UI..but quiet a laggy after 1-2 hrs..RAM always at 80-100mb..
Finaaly uninstalled and upgraded to Quarx 15.04.

there doesn't seem to be way to select audio/music engine in this Rom.
how to select music effects on this rom?
usually we select it using settings>sound>music effects.
but there isn't any such option this rom. the old miui v4 n all other roms based on ics and above have this option.

Love it works great but no 3G(mobile data), It has APN, Stiil need's a little more atention. still nice work ... hope to fix it soon

No matter what you do (at least in my experience with it) the mobile data doesn't work. It shows your signal strength but no data connectivity.

it's depend on setting you have with hdr and pixel 2 you won't get pink pictures

For me it´s the best Miui 9 we´ve seen here. Moore smooth - battery drain good - more settings - runs very good. Thank you very much, for giving us this OS!!!!!!. It´s since yesterday my daily!!! Maybe in the future: Multilanguage? Sry.for my english!

i have not tried 2.4
but on 2.0 i got 8 hrs of SOT.
now am on 2.2 i get 10-11 hrs SOT.

may i ask you if status bar is iOS style or miui in 2.4? first build of 2.3was iOS

2.4 doesn't have iOS style status bar, it is default Miui status bar
