Samsung Pay Promotion Available for VZW Customers. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note5

So it seems Samsung didn't forget about us VZW customers who missed out on the Samsung Pay free wireless charger promo.
Starting today (10/28), we are able to choose from one of the following:
Free wireless charger
https://samsungpromotions.com/ChargerPromo
or
$50 rebate for buying a wireless charger at a Verizon corporate store
https://samsungpromotions.com/PayPromo

Waiting on my confirmation email

Just ordered mine as well. I had to put the incorrect purchase date though. The order process only went back to late October. I bought my Note 5 from VZW mid September...

I don't know. Something seems fishy about that website. Either way, I received the charger when I purchased the phone in August at Best Buy.

Nothing "fishy" about the website. It's what Samsung uses for it's various promotions. http://promo.samsungpromotions.com/

Dude thanks for posting this! I thought I was out of luck

I signed up, but from all the posts it seems like the charger they send out is a POS anyway. Oh well, it's free.

Yeah, definitely not as good as the Samsung and Choetech fast wireless chargers I bought. But I'll gladly take another free charger.

FoxFi Wi-Fi Tethering still working after updates
I'm on Verizon unlimited data, so I was sweating bullets. Just in case anyone else is apprehensive about receiving the software updates for Samsung Pay to work, I just thought I'd mention that I accepted and installed all available updates, and by all appearances, they did not "secretly" contain anything to prevent FoxFi from being able to Wi-Fi tether. I forgot that I used the Debloat tool to effectively disable automatic updates, so I just went back in there and re-enabled SDM.apk and SDMViewer.apk. (and ofcourse I went back in and turned updates off after Samsung Pay was installed/updated/setup)
-apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere, but frankly it can afford to be mentioned in several places.

Both?
Is there any place saying we can't sign up for both?
EDIT: Yes, I found it. I figured they would have it in fine print. What made me curious about the $50 rebate was if that will apply to the fast charger.

I'm having trouble understanding the $50 rebate offer. It states that you must buy the charger from a participating Verizon location, then states that Verizon online and Verizon corporate retail locations don't count for purposes of this offer. What does that leave, third party places?

I was confused about this too. It's sort of interesting. You actually illuminated the problem. You said "corporate retail locations" but the terms actually do not say that. That's an interpretation.
It says, "Offer only valid at authorized Verizon dealer retail locations. Offer not valid at Verizon corporate online or retail stores and national retailers."
The question is, does the word 'corporate' describe both online and retail? At first read it would seem that the answer is "yes." But, this doesn't make sense. What is a dealer retailer, vs. a corporate retailer? It seemed to me that a dealer would not be a 3rd party.
But, I looked on verizon's website to find store locations and they have the option when looking at stores "Include Authorized retailers." That's clearly the 3rd party stores (the ones that say "premium retailers" on their sign because they aren't corporate stores). And in the terms it called the valid stores, "authorized Verizon dealer retail locations" So now I'm leaning back to the "plain reading" interpretation. This was a very long way of saying, I'm agreeing with your conclusion.

The problem is, in the end, what you or I interpret doesn't mean a thing. We need clarification from the company running this promo. I'm going to email them.
Not that it does me any good, since none of my cards work with Samsung Pay yet, and I doubt they will before this runs out.

It's very simple guys. Any Verizon wireless store will work. What won't work is ordering it from the website or buying from a main Verizon branch which deals with cable and fios. There is a difference between a Verizon corporate store and a Verizon wireless store. Hope this helps clarify things.

Best Buy is not an authorized Verizon dealer. I got an email from Samsung after submitting my receipt stating that they were not and to re-try from an authorized dealer.
The problem is that none of the authorized Verizon dealers I have checked with (3 so far) locally have the basic non-fast charging charger in stock. Actually, it appears to be sold out when the Verizon store tech checked on-line for me. He was going to order it and print me a receipt to use for the promo.
So, I went ahead and purchased a wireless fast-charging charger at Best Buy since they matched Amazon's price of $49.99, hoping it would be eligible for the promotion.

When I signed up it didn't ask me for a reciept? Am I missing something? All I had to enter was the phone id and WiFi Mac address.

You can now get it for your phone no matter who the dealer is. Just go to the Samsung cell phone accessory Web site. The offer is right on top.

Has anyone gotten a confirmation email yet?

Walmart Letstalk

Like many out there, I tried to purchase a Captivate from Walmart/Letstalk when they were advertising the ridiculously low off-contract price. Of course they did not honor it and that was expected. More than anything I was kind of annoyed that they told me I had to have an ATT contract in order to buy the phone there (so much for "Off Contract").
So I complained to the BBB on the basis that they changed their price up then back down then back up (skip to the last paragraph to skip any explanation of what I said). I mentioned that I understand if it was a pricing error then that's that, but the fact that it was posted twice (once after it was "fixed") combined with not finding wording stating that you must have a current ATT contract in addition to being told the first time that it was just an address issue, that I would like them to resolve the issue. My ideal resolution would be honoring the price (never expected) or at the very least fixing the wording on their site to make it clear that you needed an ATT account.
I sent the complaint to Walmart since if you navigate to their site from there, there is very little telling you that you are on a new site (letstalk.com) and also because it was the only way I could see to bring the issue to the attention of Walmart (short of sending a letter via snail mail).
Anyway, the resolution they offered was to give me 100 dollars off the purchase price (still need an ATT account though). I'm just posting this in case anybody else wants to give it a shot. I personally did not accept their offer (I can't anyway) and offered a middleground solution of them posting on their site that you need an ATT contract in order to purchase off contract.
100 bucks off? maybe they'll just give u a gift card and ask u to pay the retail price on the phone.
never mind

They offered $100 off for all those who ordered but didn't call in to cancel. But that's still $399.
I ended up paying $275 for an early upgrade in AT&T store.
As for AT&T account requirement, that's normal practice and since you can't get any unlock code anyway for Captivate (see other threads). So what's good to buy a Captivate without AT&T account.
turbo sim seems interesting though

I would assume so you dont have to extend your contract two years with att ,
If I can buy new phones every year (with $75 early upgrading fee), I have no problem extending my contract. It's not like I can't get any new phone until 2 years later.
FYI, my last upgrade was @ 10/2009 with 2-year contract. So, nine months for a new phone isn't too bad for me.
Verizon simply isn't an option for me (I need GSM phones for international travel). So, it's not like I have another carrier to sign on to.
I went the first day they released the phone and bought on contract at best buy, where they matched the price of the walmart website which free! The guy I bought from also told me they would match the off contract price. So I ended up just paying the tax for two phones. I honestly don't know what best buy's policy is on price matching, but the best buy mobile guy and his manager approved the price match.

What price was that? $149?
I see it in Wirefly for $99. Wonder if they would match that.Although I'd be willing to pay a bit more to get it locally.
To my surprise, BB has it in their store for $229. Anyone paying that has done zero research. I suppose there are poor souls that fit in that category.

I paid 199 for my phone at Best Buy the second day it was out. They price matched the AT&T advertised price. I wasn't really concerned at the price because I had gift cards for best buy from a rebate offer I wasn't expecting so I ended up getting the phone for free.

Video Guide: Processing a T-Mobile Warranty Exchange

There has been a lot of misunderstandings when it comes to the actual shipping process and questions on how warranty exchanges are processed. I have seen some people not know what to do or scared to do it because they think its complicated.
I made this video to show the process of how to do it. Step by Step.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEdqSj1qUMs
and YES after 5yrs I quit T-Mobile and I am now back at AT&T. But instead of office or Solutions Specialist, I work Indirect Account Management. Atleast I have job security now. Enjoy.
That is a very bold statement when you said that all T-Mobile store is not own by T-Mobile, i would like to see proof of this, not sure where you heard that? If you are referring to kiosk inside the mall then those are indirect dealers. Playground and retail are owned by T-Mobile where they have direct access to T-Mobile corporate email and home office internal sites which other indirect dealers do not.
I also see that you are working for At&t now are you a sales rep or CS when you were with T-Mobile? I know that At&t does not have anymore indirect stores as that is why you do not them as a kiosk at malls.
Not trying to stray away from your main topic of your video but good job on explaining the process.

CSR at TMO told me all stores are 3rd party as well. Don't know how much confirmation that is, but it is consistent with his statement.
T-Mobile stores are owned by other companies. They usually have a plaque on the store which states they are own by "etc etc company". You can also see that on the business cards that they have at the desks.
I just literally stopped working there...Most of the questions you asked were in my OP..
T-Mobile no longer has corporate owned stores. The formally corporate stores are now owned by a company that I am not allowed to name. and the others were sold off to investors. his was done under the radar in early 2010. Only direct way to buy is through calling Care or online. FACT!
The ones known as Playground and other stores will continue to operate under the same guise as before this happened so you would see no change but as stated this is a known fact. Im sorry you didnt know.
What was my job?? I wrote Android Support training for corporate training in our internal StreamLine systems and in person sometimes at some orientations at call centers and at indirect kiosks and mom & pop stores.
We do have Indirect doors at AT&T. I handle Prime Communications Southeast region.
I do not want this thread getting off topic.
I know what I said and I wouldnt make a statement like that without knowing what I am talking about.
This is just an educational thread for people who had questions about returns that I did to help out.
There are differences between "T-Mobile" and T-Mobile agents/limited.
but yes the RMA process is stupid easy. UPS usually knocks, honks the horn or tries to hide the package here in Vegas all depending on who leaves it. I have done RMA's where I sent back the phone they sent me because it had a dead pixel or faulty speaker... I haven't had any chargebacks because of this. There's no reason why I should have to use new defective phone until T-Mobile sends me another.

Help needed importing a Samsung Relay to Germany

as i can see, most of us here went the G1 -> G2 -> Relay way.
unfortunatly i'm sitting here in germany where the Relay is not available. and all attempts importing one so far failed. amazon doesn't have it in stock, ebay sellers don't ship overseas etc.
Can anybody help me aquire such a phone? Either get me one and send it to me or point out a dealer that ships to germany?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

you have 3 options
1) negri electronics (they are trustworthy, i got my doubleshot from them)
2) canada gsm (never tried, and you gotta mail them to sort out the international shipping stuff before you order)
3) ebay
of course, going with ebay is the less expensive but the most risky option. i got my relay from ebay, i had to camp ebay.com for a while and message all the people that had a good auction open (try to stay away from fishy stuff that may be stolen or just a scam) and ask if they would ship oversea.
most of them do not, but some do, it's just a matter of patience.
keep in mind that you will have to pay the duties for importing goods, and they will probably be quite hefty, hovering around ~100€ if you go with a shop like negri electronics

The main reason why ebay sellers don't ship overseas, is due to customs and shipping. USPS Express mail, is the only way you can ship internationally with tracking. But some countries simply won't allow those shipments.
And the hassle of dealing with problems if something goes wrong...

this is incorrect information.
first of all, customs duties will be paid by the buyer when he receives the package. the seller won't even know how much will be paid.
second, you can ship overseas with any major courier like FedEx (i recommend), UPS, DHL and of course USPS which will then be handled by your local postal service.
about stuff going wrong (in the shipment phase) there isn't much if you pay with paypal and make sure the shipping is made via a trustworthy courier with a tracking number.
of course after you have got the phone, you'd be on your own if it has some problems but if you do it right the shipment shouldn't be that much of an issue

What about a service like SHIPITO?
I am from Czech Rep and have a luck that many of my colleagues are flying to US on regular basis but this service could be used just for this very special purpose.
@fantomex:
yeah.. i stumbled over services like that and i'm considering it.
about canadagsm: i wrote a couple of mails with them back and forth about shipping and conditions and after everything was sorted out i told them that i would like to order. no answer from them now for 2 days. seems like it's back to the drawing board. :-/
found an ebay-seller who's willing to ship to germany, but auction is still up for 3 days... and dunno how that will turn out.
anybody can suggest more online stores that will ship to germany? spend an hour or two torturing google and co but it's hard getting any results since search results are filtered by location. and i guess i cannot deny my german IP ^ ^
found a couple of phone stores but they were either out of stock of didn't have the Relay listed at all.
weird that canadagsm stopped responding. anyway negri has written on its site that it is on backorder, and that they usually ship backordered items within few work days (they probably will just buy a phone then unlock and ship it) so i think you can try and ask them.
if you wanna go the ebay way, make sure you buy a perfect (mint) condition phone, no bad imei, and that the seller will ship with tracking to you. (and, ofc, paypal payment)
yeah.. it's weird about canadagsm.. took them an hour to reply to the initial mail. but now: nothing. already re-sent the mail twice..
will contact negri when i get home since the phone on ebay dissapeared without a trace all of a sudden..

Hi
Ebay india has a sevice called 'global easybuy'. One can buy anything from ebay usa (irrespective of the seller ships internationally or not) and ebay will deliver to your doorstep. Shipping, customs etc charges are included at the time of payment and are quite nominal. Look for 'global easy buy' on ebay germany. Hope they have this service.

I personally still relatively tend to eBay shopping, everything went smoothly, you can try.

If you pre-ordered from AT&T, here's what you need to know.

Hey guys, AT&T employee here. The other thread ran on so long that I thought I'd share what I've found out from my higher ups.
Preorders will start shipping the 23rd, however the S4s are officially on back order, at least in my market (Georgia-Carolinas). This is why it is showing the 30th as that is what at&t has predicted to be a worst case scenario.
Preordering is on a first come first serve basis, HOWEVER this basis is market dependent, meaning that someone from another market may have ordered after you may get it before you. Markets range in size and availability greatly. For instance, my market encompasses North and South Carolina along with Georgia, whilst there are markets for areas as a small as Dallas Texas. I have no way of checking to see if other markets are on backorder.
Since the phone will release in stores the 26th, though some stores with back orders may not have them until later, I do not recommend canceling your preorder to get one in store. Most stores will receive small initial shipments that will run out quickly (all of our stores locally have ran out of HTC ones, so I can only imagine how the s4 will sell). So I do not recommend canceling your preorder to get one in store potentially earlier unless you can wait at opening for the store to open that has confirmed it will have phones available on that day. Pre-orders will be fulfilled before store needs, so know that you will be taken care of before customers that haven't.
If you have any questions let me know!
mine always said it would ship on april 30th. i expect to have it by early may as i paid for overnight. since your an employee i have a question. how come at&t gave the pricing for the 32gb models but they have no idea when they will release them?

We aren't sure if the 32 gig models will be available at launch and we aren't sure why the higher ups did that.
HOWEVER, if the 32 gig is available at launch and you pre-ordered the 16 gig version, you CAN take your un-opened phone package and swap it out for a 32 gig and just pay the difference in price. Just make sure you do not open the box to even look at the phone and that you go to a corporate store, not a 3rd party retailer.

As far as my information goes from multiple managers, the phone launches in STORES the 26th. It would ship the 23rd because at&t uses multiple carriers (UPS, Fedex amongst one or two others) to ship. Even with free shipping, it takes an average of 3 business days to reach you amongst those carriers.
However, due to backorder concerns, they are listing the 30th as a worst case scenario. We are getting overwhelmed with preorders for the phone. I myself have preordered it.

Based on my previous experience with ATT online orders, all phones came in with their boxes open and seals broken; sim cards removed from the holders and placed in the sim slot. I was told that warehouse technician usually check the phone before shipping out.
I guess since you are an employee, you have no need to order online but buy from store inventory.
We never buy from store inventory. It's bad salesmanship as with the way our commission works, any changes on the account like equipment changes from insurance claims in the first 6 months can result in what are called "charge backs", or lost commission and a slap on the wrist from your store manager. Also, unless you're getting an iphone, the sim card shouldn't be already in the phone 0_o..
Guess ill be waiting in front of my local ATT store.. not taking a chance at pre-ordering online to be backorderd
Make sure they'll have it, otherwise that'd be a dumb move.
Any idea what it means when I check my order status online and all it says is "processing" with no expected ship date? I ordered the day after pre orders started. Thanks in advance!

. Also, unless you're getting an iphone, the sim card shouldn't be already in the phone 0_o..

Hm. Iphones ship to us in store with the sims already in the phone. That's why you see any number on there starting with 8901...
Main reason why I say they shouldn't open the box is because that instantly creates an at&t restocking fee of 35$. Box unopened = no restocking fee.
On my order form the sim card and the galaxy s4 are separate. Same for anyone else?

[Q] Buying full price

What's the best way to buy the S6 at full price for Verizon? Doing it via vzw.com makes me log in and pick a line to upgrade. Since I have unlimited data and will pay full price, is this safe to do assuming I pick the full price option?
Would waiting for amazon to sell it or buying at a VZW store be a better option?
I'm having the same issue. Maybe adding a line and then paying the ETF to cancel the new line? Moving the S6 to the unlimited line.
Moved to Q&A.

I chose to upgrade my line, then on the next screen you have the choice of paying full price or use Verizon Edge.
I double-checked to make sure that my unlimited data plan was still there a few screens later, and it was (Unlimited web and mobile data) or something like that, with Samsung Galaxy S6 showing as my phone.
Order was placed successfully.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the info. I'll try it.
I had the same issue. I used the chat button on the Verizon site and they provided this link:
https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/
I chose existing customer, logged in, and it allowed me to "just buy the device".

For anyone else interested, I used the above method and it was smooth sailing.
I've always bought mine at Verizon corporate stores. Never had a problem.

I did it that way in the past but the last time they lied to me about not having the phone in stock. They had it right up to the point they found out I wanted to pay full price and then all of a sudden they were out of stock. About 30 minutes later I called and they were back in stock. BB got my business that day. I'm told that selling a phone out right hurts their numbers.

I had the exact thing happen to me. They were able to sell phones left and right on contract, but because I wanted to pay full price for mine they couldn't help me.

Yup. I avoid the Authorized Dealers.
Pre-ordered mine from Bestbuy and picked it up today. They matched Verizon's full retail price and got a free wireless charger.
I had no problems today. Got in and out....painless.

Why Buy at Full Price
What am I missing here? Why would anyone want to buy a phone at full price at a Verizon Store, when you can buy it on their Edge Program, have 24 months to pay for it at no interest, no down payment, can trade up at no penalty after only 75% of the phone is paid for, and you get a line charge discount that is about equal to the monthly charge for the phone, which essentially makes the phone free? (I realize that you can ask for the line charge discount anyway as long as you don't sign another 24 month contract.)

I am "grandfathered" with unlimited data from Verizon. They no longer offer unlimited data at any price and if I use an "upgrade", get a subsidized device or otherwise change plans, I would lose my unlimited data.
