Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
I would trust the apps screen then, as storage is glitching out.
You can ask about this here, as this is where your device experts are found:
> General discussion > Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking > AT&T Fusion 2 U8665 Root - General/Q&A
Please note, you will need to register for an XDA account before you can post there.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

[Q] Unlocking and Rooting

Hello,
I am from India and I just happened to read this thread. I have a few questions and I appreciate If you could answer them.
I purchased a new nexus 5 32 GB. Now, I am afraid to do rooting as it could void my warranty.
I would like to know how to install apps to the external storage. Since Nexus 5 comes without an sd card(sealed sd card). How do I access this sd card, becuase If I install any app. It just installs(currently, it tells 350mb and 26 GB free). Now, is this telling me that 350 MB is being used on sd card.
Secondly, where can I check the amount of RAM being used ?
Regards,
Avi
If you don't want to root, don't. As for your other question, I don't understand... There is no external storage. Unless you get an otg like meneevo but you can't install apps to that. Everything runs off the internal. 32 GB should be more than enough unless you install like 1000 apps...

Here's an excellent thread about the N5's storage.
Some more info please
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. But I still have some doubts.
If I install any app from play store, By default, where it will install, in the internal 32 GB Memory or on the 2GB RAM ?
Because, my intention is that whatever apps I install, It should by default install in the 32GB internal storage and not on the 2GB RAM. How to do this ? If any screenshot helps, please let me know.
Regards,
Avi
they are installed in 32 gb not ram lololololo.....

Apps will only install on the phones memory and never the RAM. RAM means how many apps you can have open on the phone at one time (multitask). For example you can have Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Browser, etc all open at one time without the phone crashing or running sluggish. RAM is basically the towing capacity of a pick up truck.
The phone memory is basically a car trunk filled with groceries (data, pictures, videos, apps, etc). The larger the car trunk, the more groceries you can put in it before you run out of storage and have to put it in the back seat/front seat (external SD or OTG).
In short, you have 32gb and all your apps will be downloaded ONLY to the 32gb.

Hello,
If it is that all the apps will be downloaded to 32 GB internal memory, then why would anybody use link2sd apps, because the main intention is that nothing goes to phone memory(2 GB) and all of them goes to 32gb internal memory. I believe that link2sd apps is probably not for nexus 5 phone at all and only for other smart phones.
One thing, I would like to tell is that I downloaded the link2sd app(hoping that this could increase the phone performance). Here, when I launch the app, for few apps, it tells that the app can be moved and tells that symbolic link is not found ? Does this make all sense what I am saying ?
What is your take on this ?

Avinash

Link2sd is not for our phone. Its for phones that support external SD. We have internal SD and no external SD (micro SD slot)! Delete Link2sd and enjoy your phone. Don't worry about storage space. You should have more than enough storage space unless you download a lot of songs, movies etc. I have over 200 songs on my phone and I have a lot of storage left! I have the 32gb model also.

Unlocking and Rooting
Hello,
Thanks for all the reply. All my answers are answered pretty well.
What I understand is unlocking and rooting is required only when custom roms and link2sd need to be installed, As far as Nexus 5 is concerned, would unlocking and rooting help as already I am running kitkat 4.4 latest build.
Also, I have some queries related to apps, would you mind If I post it here or I should create a different post.
Regards,
Avi
You cannot use link2sd as there's no sd slot so no, root will not help.

There is much more than link2sd which requires root, link2sd is used on phones with almost very less internal memory so no use on nexus 5..….if u are newbie just keep ur phone stock and read and carefully understand about rooting and unlocking from xda and later you can try them

[Completed] Gionee Elife s5.1 - Internal Storage Issue

I am having Gionee s5.1 phone with 16GB storage (no SD Card support) running on 4.4.2 Android version. The phone storage divided into 2 sections:
6.25 - This is called Internal Storage. Android version is installed on this with pre installed applications.
9.75 - This is used for media storage and currently no file or images in this storage.
I have uninstall all the unnecessary applications (Pre-installed) from the phone and keep only Cleanmaster, Whatsapp, Facebook Messagner and imo. I have automatic update of apps is off as well as from google play store.
Now the problem is, when I bought this phone it has around 2.3 GB space available and a week back, with above configuration and application, it shows mes only 471 MB space left. I have gone through each and every application manually and removed the cache also used Cleanmaster for the same but no help.
Someone told me to do Factory Reset to resolve this and I do last week. At that time my internal storage back to 2.63 GB free of 6.25 GB allocated and I am happy. Again I configured my phone with above software and disabled the auto update of apps from google apps a week ago. Today, when I go to Settings -> Storage, it shows only 400 MB space left of 6.25 GB. I am not sure what to do and how to deal with this situation. I googled solutions to deal with it like root the phone (King root used) and use Link2SD or App2SD to move the apps but those app said SD partition not mount. I tried minipartition wizard to partition for 9.75GB as shown on the various blgs, but my phone shows message of Corrupted SD Card. No luck... :crying:
Can any one let me know how can I merge internal storage (6.25 GB) with phone storage (9.75 GB) to use the phone without any issue?
Or
How can I use the Phone Storage as Internal Storage and move applications to Phone storage?
Urgent help is greatly appreciated...

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. There is no forum specifically for the Gionee S5.1 but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you. Since your device is not widely used, please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond.
Good luck!

[Completed] how do I get into "android/inaccessible files" - it's 88% of my storage

I'm trying to free up some space with an app called "Storage Analyzer" and there's this enormous greyed out slice of the pie (88% of my internal storage) that is called "android/inaccessible"
1) does anybody know what it is? it's not spotify premium offline files, because I've deleted all those to try to free it up
2) how can I gain access to it, to hopefully delete some of the files & free up space
*this is probably not my android filesystem (I would presume) because theres a separate field called "android overhead" which only takes up 16MB (2.8%)
Phone Specs:
AT&T Galaxy S5 SM-G900A
Android 5.0
16 GB internal memory
64 GB external (but I can't move any of my files over to the SD, since the files in question are "inaccessible" and greyed out)

I guess it's the space on the internal storage, which is not accessible by the storage analyzer app.
If your device is not rooted, your apps can not access all system folders ... only your user space.
If you want to free some of the system space, you will have to root your device.
There are different clean up apps available, but keep in mind, that deleting system files is risky and may cause issues on your device.
BTW ... here is the [INDEX][FAQ][Q&A][ALL-IN-ONE][ATT][SM-G900A][Jul.01.2014] by ted77usa thread with many useful information and links to other threads for your device.
It's an help thread too.
So please register on xda and ask there to get answers from users having the same device like you.
Good luck !

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
I have had much luck in the past with Link2SD:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games > [APP][1.6+] Link2SD
It leverages space on or SD card by way of a second partition (any size you want, but 2GB is probably enough). If you like it and get the Pro version, you can move the app data to the SD card as well (where the free version moves mostly the APK itself).
Please note, Android still has to download to internal storage, so you may get download fails on larger apps. But without repacking your kernel with a modified fstab (which causes signature and performance problems), Link2SD is your best bet.
Any questions about the app, can be asked in the above thread (once registered for an account)
Hope this helps.

[Completed] Samsung J5 Insifficient Storage! Help me please!

Like the title says, i keep getting the " Insufficient Storage" notification even though i moved the application to the SD Card.
So, that wasn't working and i searched the internet and read something about APP2SD CARD and Link2SDCard. For that i need root. So i rooted my phone. Now when i download app it says "App linked to SD". But it didn't move it so i go to the program and select "Move application to SD Card" and it does it successfully .
Although i am moving the applications to the SD Card, the system internal storage stays exactly the same. For example, i download Hearthstone wich is something like 1.20 Gb. I had 7.80GB of used space. I install this app, and bam! System storage full. Then i proceed to move it to the SD Cards with various programs i tried. And it says it has moved it, but i still remain with 8.00 GB of used space!!
What is going on and how do i change my default install program storage device?! Because that was the objective i have been trying to get with those apps i found on xda forum!
I hope you can help! Thank you!
System Specs:
Android version: 5.1.1
KNOX Version: 204
