Hi, I just got a new S6 (G920F) on 5.1.1 (3COI9) and I wanted to root it, but I've only got a Mac and no access to a Windows ISO or Parallels. JODIN3 has been discontinued, and I was wondering if anybody has rooted through terminal. I don't need to install a custom recovery, just root.
Thanks!

Greetings! I just got the new Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920I) and I'd like to root it. In the past I've used Odin and I know people have rooted SGS6 via Odin but since I only have access to Linux, now that's not an option. What method would you recommend: Heimdall (which at the moment doesn't list SGS6 as a tested device) or the manual way described in this thread?
I have an android tv box, an AneWish M8S+ Plus with Android 5.1.1. When I got it, it had 5.1 with root access. I upgraded to 5.1.1 and seemed to have lost root. How can I go about re-rooting this?
I have superuser but when I opened it, it said there was no binary installed.
Try a one click root app. In my case Kingo Android Root did the job well.
anewish m8s plus
do you have the firmware for this ?
thanks in advance
I have an s6 edge that just updated to 6.0.1
I have factory reset it (still on 6.0.1), want to root.
I have only this phone to provide Internet for downloads/files etc.
I have a MacBook pro running osx 10.11.5
Can I root my device with these tools?
No searching has uncovered an easy answer, mostly saying I have to emulate windows on a mac to do a root.
My predicament.
I am recently diving in to Android on a Digiland DL7000 tablet. It is a MediaTek processor running Nougat (Android 7).
None of the one-click rooting tools work, so I'm slogging through the ADB process and would like to use SuperSU.
Has anyone done this with the Digiland DL7000 tablets yet?
Try this method:

im looking to root this on. DL8006
unlocked bootloader. but don't know how to push SU without a custom recovery
Like I said one post up - use Magisk for this.
My Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 (G611F) had Android 7.1.1 when I rooted it a few years ago and I have never upgraded it to a newer version for fear of losing root. It has TWRP and SuperSu installed and I confirmed I still have root. What is the best method to upgrade without losing my data? I have Odin on a Windows laptop and I have adb and fastboot on my Unbuntu desktop. I also downloaded Magisk apk and Firmware SM-G611F — Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime. Thanks
