[6.0] [marshmallow] [cm13] Facebook force closing - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey I installed cm13 on my moto g 2013 and everything is OK but the only problem I'm having is that Facebook and messenger are force closing I tried to give it all the permissions for both and still it didn't work.
Anybody please help is there a solution???

It's a known problem on CM 13...

delete libsslx.so from these dir. note that you can't make/receive voice/video calls from messenger
/data/app/com.facebook.katana-1/lib/arm/
/data/app/com.facebook.orca-1/lib/arm/
/data/app/com.facebook.katana-2/lib/arm/
/data/app/com.facebook.orca-2/lib/arm/

i have a FC on HERE Maps from Nokia, also sometimes when I receive calls (i have a dual sim setup) can't respond, slider is not working, cant respond or endcall - the phone just rings and i can't do anything.1

libsslx.so is missing

This forum is for moto g

Just go to
"data/data/com.facebook.katana/lib-xzs" using root access
and rename
libsslx.so to libsslx.so.bak
That's it

i posted a much better fix that will keep the fb issue from reoccurring. "You guys that are still having fb troubles do the fix with "Facebook FC fix : /data/data/com.facebook.katana/lib-xzs/ -> delete or rename libsslx.so" but dont delete it use something like es file explorer change the permissions on it chmod it so it has no permissions whatsoever then it cant be executed edited or anything but its still there. so far this keeps it from being messed with and makes facebook work fine. "

Ok Guys, I've figured this one out!
Facebook Messenger crashes on cyanogen cm13
So, for a cyanogenROM with twrp, to fix this issue keeping the videocalls ability we need;
1 - Reboot on recovery
2 - Use twrp explorer to go to data/data/com.facebook.katana/lib-xzs
3 - locate the libsslx.so file and run chmod chmod 755
The problem basicaly resumes to the libsslx.so file is not able to interact with the OS because of permissions.
We are just changing the permissions of the file keeping all features enabled.

[MK16i]SE Xperia Pro Ultima v1.1; Google Play crashes

Hello, I have a problem with running Google Play after flashing the phone with Xperia Pro Ultima v1.1 kernel and rom. The application turns on, I have logged in fine, I can see the main menu and browse, but when I try to open a game menu it crashes and it shows a message that I have to force kill (com.android.vending process).

Does anybody know how might I solve this? Thank you in advance
This is a known issue due to a wrong NFC file included (mk16i doesn't use NFC) in android
you need to remove a file by adb or with a root explorer.
the file is:
/system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.nfc.xml
reboot, and everything should be just find !

Hey guys Push Notification not working! Solved
i done it on my own :/
while i felt hopeless to get help from here, i thought to play with registry.
Well this solution may apply only on custom rom/full unlocked
Navigate to Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\PushClient\EndPoints
deleted all folders in endpoint( that contained values for app that required push notification, i had three value for fb, twitter, whatsapp) deleted all
then uninstalled problematic apps, reinstalled, restart cell phone, it worked like charm... Hurray

Google Messenger 5.0

Hey everyone, here it is, the new SMS app for Lollipop.
Doesn't work well on my G2. I get a force close when I tap the + to write a new sms.
Yep, same FC here, it must require some additional libs from the Lollipop build!
You have to go to Contacts, search the contact you want to write a message and there you touch "write message". So it works.
But in the messenger app the + produces defenitly a fc.
I hope i could help you and my english was not to terrible.
Greetings
Send by my Lg G2 with G3 Rom
You can't install like a regular APK you need root and install it into system>app
And then it works? Normally yes you don't install you move it to system app and change permissions to 644, rw- r-- r--

I pressume we have to rename the apk and replace the default sms app ?
I can't find the name of the default sms app ... gooling it at this moment but not found any info yet.
Edit : find out the default sms app is in Priv-app folder and name is LGMessage.apk ... but i see yours is from Google , so I'm confused.
^tried a week ago - works perfectly on aosp roms
installed apk like any other app. no FC's or issues. Side note, I did have the default SMS app uninstalled.
Im running liquid smooth 11/1
Not working without the FC in Cloudy G3, tried it in /app and /priv-app with correct permissions. I don't have the earlier google SMS app installed, but do have LGmessenger and CM Messenger (which is just superb IMO)
Hi mates, anyone found solution for "+" access to contacts? I did rename apk file, removed original lg messenger, move google m. To folder with 644 rights and reboot for clear davlik and cache. But gives me fcs for "+" and "share" . Like material.
eh fc stock rom v20g. ;/

Was stated by android police that unless you're on a 4.4.4 + ROM , you'll get fc.
It's for vanilla roms only, on stock it doesn't work
did any of you tried playstore version? (it's been officially released on playstore today)
edit:
everything works fine with playstore version (cloudy g3 v2.1 rom, d802 variant)
only thing that doesn't work is the new message popup as in stock roms, but that was expected since it's a lg feature (new messages still show up in the status bar)
Yes, I've just installed it and it's all OK, here's link for you guys
Consultar "Messenger".
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging
Version from playstore working a treat!
Okay, after the update it works perfectly on 4.4.2. Now question is wher to get dialer with material theme matching this messenger?
dialer like this?
xposed + g3 tweaksbox + g3twb lollipop full theme 4.1 set on "phone app"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/themes-apps/mod-gwbt-theme-g3-tweaksbox-themes-t2852754
Real nice mate, but got lg g2 + g2 tweaksbox, anyother way round? Really love this dialer looks.

i don't know if g2 tweaksbox supports custom themes... i didn't use it since i switched to cloudy g3 ported rom (and g3 tweaksbox)
i think i saw google dialer somewhere as a standalone app, but i don't remember exactly where and if it works 100% without issues on g2...

Facebook Contact Sync for Lollipop AOSP/CM12/CM12.1 ROMs

UPDATE 29/03: Added version for Lollipop 5.1 (tested on CM12.1/AOSP ROMs).
UPDATE: Fixed zip file.
I have compiled a modified Lollipop ContactsProvider to allow the Facebook app to sync contacts on CM12/AOSP based ROMs.
To install:
Download the attached recovery flashable zip and copy it to your phone.
Clear data for the Facebook app and Contacts Storage (Apps > All). VERY IMPORTANT.
Reboot into recovery and flash the zip file.
When you log back into the Facebook app you may see the option to enable contact sync, if not it will appear at the bottom of the App Settings screen.
If you find your contacts are not appearing after enabling in the FB app, do the following:
Open a command prompt
adb shell
su
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db 'ALTER TABLE raw_contacts ADD COLUMN is_restricted VARCHAR';
try the previous step a second time and if it was successful you will be told it already exists.
Reboot
This has been tested and works perfectly on a Galaxy S5 and HTC One M7 with both CM12 and AOSP based ROMs, but I would advise as always making a backup of things before flashing. I take no responsibility for any brickage that may occur.
Thanks, it's working (from the App Settings screen)!

I cracked it!
I managed to mod the contactsprovider.apk from cm12 (5.1.1). You'll have to copy it over to system/Contacts Provider and change permissions to 644. Then reboot.
You might also have to do that extra thing in the first post in this thread (making a new column), but you can do that in Terminal Emulator from the Play Store.

What I did was:
-Uncheck Google Contacts sync
-Remove Facebook account
-Clear Data for Contacts Storage
-Copy ContactsProvider.apk to system/priv-app/ContactsProvider
-Reboot
-Add table with Terminal Emulator (after clearing data again, if necessary due to errors on boot)
-Re-check Google Contacts sync
-Login to Facebook
-Go to app settings
-Scroll down to Sync Contacts
-Choose either Sync All or Existing
I usually just sync all.

Snapchat on rooted devices without Xposed (Nougat)

Hi, So i recently bought a nexus 6p and I rooted it as one of the first things. I then found out I was running Nougat, and Xposed wasn't out yet. Many apps blocks the use of the app if you are rooted fx. Snapchat. But I found a way around without using a Xposed mod fx. 'root cloak'.
All you have to do:
1. Download Root Browser, by JRummy Apps Inc. or any other app of the same kind
2. navigate to /vendor/lib/
3. Locate the file named "liboemcrypto.so"
4. Rename the file to "liboemcrypto.so.bak"
5. power off the device and boot it normally up, and then Snapchat should be working again:good:
If I posted this in the wrong thread, sorry it my first post
#EDIT 1
6. Login to Snapchat
7. Rename "liboemcrypto.so.bak" to "liboemcrypto.so" (original name)
8. power off the device and boot it normally up. Then Snapchat should still be working, and you will not get any errors in other apps
Check my comment for more details (comment 5)
It works! Thank you so much!
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Thanks men
I'm getting a "operation failed" message every time I try to change this. I've tried root browser and amaze file manager, and got the same message both times. Each has superuser permissions. Is there a fix for this?
Thankssss! Love you!
Okay so yesterday I started getting errors, Spotify not playing any sound, Facebook videos not loading, Facebook messenger call not working. One week after I changed the name of the file, so I decided to change it back to see if it was the file that was causing the problems. After I renamed it back to original, and then I had no errors with the other apps and Snapchat is still logged in and working.
So I recommend to change the file to .bak, reboot, login in Snapchat. Change the file back, reboot and then there shouldn't be any problems:good:

Simplest way to use SnapChat on the rooted phone.
Step 1: Unroot (In SuperSU, click Full Unroot and restart)
Step 2: (After the reboot) Install Snapchat
Step 3: Log in
Step 4: Go to TWRP/CWM and flash SUPERSU
Step 5: Open Beer
You now have SNAPCHAT working on a rooted phone.
I have tried all of these methods, with or without Xposed. Impossible to get it to work on my htc one m7. Anyone have experience on the same device? and NO Casper is not an option!! Thanks
