[Completed] Question about flashing Sony Xperia M Dual (C2005) - XDA Assist

Hello guys.. I'm fairly new to this website (registered a few days ago but knew the website for ages)
My cellphone is an Xperia M dual (C2005)....
The thing is, I used towelroot to root because I didn't want to use the adb thingy.. The conclusion is I don't have custom recovery..
Since I want to flash I'm never aware of whether I'm gonna brick or not my cellphone...
So with that being said, I would be glad if someone could link me to a 4.4 KitKat ROM (I want this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722892), a way to install custom recovery (without fastboot preferibly, if there is a way) and how to backup&restore the data in case of bricks! ... If you could guide me step-by-step, that would be amazing!
Thanks if you have read all that text!
Have a nice week!

[rom] HZT S810 - dual sim - MIUI

hi guy!
i bought 5 days ago a china-phone dualsim HZT S810.
it's a good phone but is very difficult to find custom rom. i have alredy rooted my phone and i also installed CW recovery.
at the moment this phone has a Cyanogen rom. I'd like to install a MIUI rom; anybody can help me to do it?
if someone got this phone and know any hack or mod, contact me please!
thanks to all!
Nobody can help me? Someone that got this phone? Thanks!
Sent from my T9199+ using XDA App
help! me please!!!!
is possible to install flash player into a deviece not certified from adobe?
If you are looking for a MIUI rom your best bet is to go to the miui site. My best advise would be to search the internet as most roms are not for China based dual Sim phones.
Thank you! I've just try to send a note on miui facebook page!
But... for flash player? Any solution?

I would check the MIUI site as no development for those roms are done here due to GPL violations. All the roms here are only translations

Get ahold of the OEM and have them release the kernel source code and see what they say
hold the oem
can u give me a tip for how to do that ? should i ask the kernel via the terminal ?
thanks for ur interest...
Yoann
To hold the OEM..
Do u have a tip for holding the oem of a phone ? should i do that via the terminal ? do u know a website with good tutorial for that kind of things
thx for ur answer....
yoann
Who makes the phone? They are the only ones that can release the source code for the kernel. And under the GPL they have to release it.
looking for the brand !!
So we can't extract the source code by ourselves ? but the problem is that i don't know who makes this phone, anyone knows that ? here is a link of the phone in a e-shop : android-sale.com/touch-s810-android-phone-4-3-inch-touch-screen-3g-dual-sim-wifi-gps.html i just know it run a mtk6573 processor... anyone have more infos about this product ?
Happy new year @Zelendel and @all peoples on this forum !
No you can't only the OEM can release the source code for the kernel.
and a backup ?
and is it possible to make a backup of the rom before trying other one ?

Hello guys,
I spent a lot of time searching original firmware for the s810 and i think now can be the start of many things on this device...
Something that would be nice is to write on this "thread" all the things we do on this device (installation, rooting and improving)
I will try during the day to find a place to host the original firmware...
Ps: A hint from russian forum : Cyanogenmod rom works for this device ! cool !!
so i wait ur comments....

Just follow the instructions in the second link and then get back to the rom flashing. You'll have to judge for yourself (I wouldn't know).

Yes, you do have to do it. The use of the s1tool is a part of the of the same process, so just follow it step by step. The kernel installation is if you are planning to stay of the stock ROM. Since you're going to flash a new ROM, it isn't really necessary.

Hey,
I recently rooted my note 2 via some YouTube link.. Now for some reason I am still getting over the air updates and my recovery mode always goes into the Samsung recovery (only options are wipe data and some others.. The screen is black with a green android mascot )
However all the root apps are working.. So what do I do£
Do I install the update which has come over the airborne not?
Thanks for the help..
You should send us a link to the youtube link and you should get a rom off XDA, it works better and you get more support.
Hope it helps
What next

Have you even gone to the thread for your device and read there? That should be the first thing you do before you do anything on your phone. Following some youtube video then coming here for help is not very considerate. Also you provided no information.
Luckily for you. You have root access but you haven't installed a custom recovery yet. You need to do that next. Then install the rom of your choice. Look in the development section for your device and read the stickies. Good luck.

unfortunately this happened and now it has come notice that xda is the overlord of sorts in android .. at the time i didnt kow else i would have followed the xda guide..
hence i ask NOW WHAT.
should i unroot ?
my recovery goes into stock recovery and cwm or twer recovery doesnt work properly .. so hence my question was thus framed..

Dude. I just told you what to do. It sounds like you are already rooted so now you flash custom recovery and from there flash the rom of your choice.

[Completed] Can I safely install a Custom Recovery on not officially supported phone?

Hello everyone,
I've been given a Digiland DL5003QL phone
I used Kingroot and successfully manage to gain root access but I'd also like to install a Custom Recovery. I'm kind of new of this kind of stuff and I only knew CWM and TWRP whose unfortunately don't officially support my phone model...
Can I install one whitout throwing the phone in the trash? If yes could you give some hints in the right direction?
Thank you so much!

[Completed] Phone easy to root, install TWRP,xposed framae work

Hi
I am a newbie here. I have tried rooting in Moto g3 and Lyf Flame 8. I wished to flash custom roms, xposed etc in my phone.
When i tried rooting, i almost bricked my moto g3( not read and followed the thread while rooting) finally flashed the stock.
In my Lyf tried ro replace kingRoot with superSu and it went to bootloop. Restored the same with the help of jio Store and rooted and now it is ok.
I have learned from my mistakes and would like to purchase a new/second hand mobile with volte which has enough support for rom.xposed, threads in this forum. I am using a Jio sim and VOLTE is prefered, also dont want to spend more than 6k as of now.
I hope some one will suggest some models and i can save money for 6 months and can explore root, rom, xposed etc.

If you ask your question here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
the experts there will be able to give you some opinions. If you are going to go for a less well known brand then anything with a snapdragon processor tends to have good support with cm based roms
Good Luck
