[Q] Only Verizon & AT&T bootloaders can't be unlocked, correct? (XT1028)

I bought a Verizon Moto G and upon discovering that I cannot unlock the bootloader I would like to exchange it for one with an unlockable bootloader. Just to be sure, only AT&T and Verizon are the ones where you can't unlock the bootloader?
Or is it impossible to unlock the bootloader on Boost Mobile?

Boost Mobile is unlockable. I've done it. Flashed to Verizon and activated on Page Plus.
Verizon is NOT unlockable.
Can't comment on AT&T as I don't use them but a Boost or Verizon model will not work on AT&T or vice versa unlocked or not.

I was in USA and I bought.
Sorry not possible because it's unlocked via network.
If there is a boot loader unlock in future it may be possible depending on how the simlock is implemented. HTC M8 requires Supercid to do the Sim unlock though..... LG G2 on Sprint required root and a CDMA tool.

Sony bootloaders have nothing to do with SIM unlock, so a bootloader unlock will not help.
As of now, the bootloader remains unlockable.

Hmm,
The bootloader of a Z3 can be unlocked via the Sony website.
Its only unofficial unlocks that cannot be done
EDIT
Of course the USA variants are all locked down though, but that's T-Mobile or AT&T doing that, not Sony

Yes, I've watched the video, but the bootloader for the T-mobile variant, D6616, cannot be unlocked.

Just want to say that the US unlocked & unbranded version is the D6603 just like in Europe. You bought one specifically made for a carrier, next time be more careful I guess. I suppose you should sell it back in the US or return it if possible.
The only way I can think of is to mail it back to a usa person. Have them get tmob to unlock it. Mail it back to russia. Not impossible just a pita. Once tmob allows you to put any sim in your set (essentially releasing there grimy fingers from it). Considering how greedy these ****e carriers are, good luck even asking them even if you have a good standing acct.

Right Section for unlocked S6?

i bought an unlocked S6 from best buy. its the t-mobile version G920T, but i use att for my carrier. for rooting and all should i be using this section since its unlocked even though its a tmobile phone?

Questions about International Model

Looking for someone with the international model or knowledge about it. First, does it come carrier unlocked from the factory? Second, is the bootloader unlockable? Thanks for any help.

As long as you don't buy from a carrier it should be unlocked I guess. If you wanna unlock the bootloader you just have to use the "fastboot flashing unlock" command on fastboot and that's it. Some people do recommend to leave it open once you unlock it.
I have the International Pixel XL...
Model: G-2PW2200
I believe it depends where you buy it or who you buy it from...
Mine came carrier unlocked and with an unlockable bootloader...
As far as I am aware, the EE version is not unlockable. Not sure if there are any others.

When buying a device from Amazon, Swappa, Ebay and the like, when the device is listed as "unlocked", it means it is carrier/SIM unlocked to be used on other networks.
As for whether the bootloader is unlockable to flash TWRP or not, that may depend on the exact model number, whether or not the bootloader can even be unlocked at all may depend on the carrier that the device originally came from.

Ok, what does that have to do with the difference between the meanings of the terms "unlocked(SIM)" and "unlocked(bootloader)"?
What are you asking?

I do not know, but, as I already told you, that will depend on the specific model number of the device and which carrier the device originally came from. You need to do some researche using the device's model number to determine whether or not it can be unlocked and rooted. If you are looking for someone to do the work for you and spoonfeed you the answers that you are looking for, you are in the wrong place.
