anyone have a fix for certain super nintendo or other controller buttons not working? - General Questions and Answers

i have two controllers, one is a regular super ninendo controller plugged into a snes to usb adapter
http://www.amazon.com/Super-Nintend..._sim_63_7?ie=UTF8&refRID=04XZAWT1EYS6FFNRJ6YG
plugged into a female usb to micro usb.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812423075 (i have two of these)
it works fine on my computer and my note 2,
on my s3 on cm12, and my gf's LG gflex, the down and right buttons on the dpad arent detected at all.
this controller,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JAU20W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
works on the computer, but on my note 2, s3, and gflex, the X,Y,L,R buttons dont work at all. im using snes9x ex+ emulator, but they arent detected by the phone either because you can usually move around the home screen with the dpad and select icons.
does anyone know how to solve this issue or do i need to keep trying different controllers to find one that works

[Q] USB Mouse and Keyboard

Is there anything I need to do/install to get my mouse or keyboard to work on 3.1? When I plug them in, nothing happens. I've also tried plugging in my iPhone and an Xbox 360 controller, just to see if there is any response to any of them to show that the Xoom sees them.
I have a wired mouse and wireless keyboard (I figured keyboard wouldn't work). I'm trying to figure out if I may just have a bad OTG adapter.
Bluetooth keyboards work just fine.
You won't get any notifications or popups when you plug in a device, they will just start working (eg, you can just start typing with the keyboard).
Yeah I assumed they would just start working, but I wasn't sure if my wireless keyboard would work. I know when I am, for example, installing windows the keyboard works before drivers get installed, just not to the full extent.
I need help on this aswell... anyone?
I was wondering about this aswell. Doesn't it need to download drivers for the keyboard/mouse to work? Also since there's only one USB plug, would a hub work to get like a keyboard and mouse working at the same time?
And would wireless work?

USB OTG and Logitech F310

I received my OTG cable in the mail today and wanted to start gaming the right way with my Logitech F310 gamepad but my phone didn't recognize it at all. I tested the controller with Dead Trigger but I got no response. The green "Mode" button comes on when pressed but that's it. I thought that my gamepad would work just fine with my OTG cable because my computer recognizes it as an Xbox 360 controller. Has anybody gotten one of these to work with their S4? Thanks in advance!

Firstly, not all games support gamepads, secondly if you have the 360 controller, i hear theyre better supported c:
and lastly, you can try getting an app that manages the controller and interfaces it with the app, maps it to the touch controls of its not supported for example, theres a few out there, havent tried any myself because i only have a ps3 controller and couldnt get it working with sixaxis :c

For anyone wondering, I was able to find a solution! I bought the USB/BT JoyCenter app and it recognized my F310 in XInput mode (the switch on the bottom). Using the app, I was able to map the buttons.
On a side note, my aftermarket Power A Playstation 3 controller works automatically with some games without any extra software.

Hey,
My experience has been very flakey with the f310 but I can confirm that it does work. In some games such as asphalt 8 you don't need the joycenter app. Just mess around with it.

i second this question

Xbox 360 controller ?

Is there any way to make the 360 controller work on the S6? It's not a wireless controller.
I'll even root. Is there any way to make the 360 wired controller work? (tried it with my otg but it dosen't work. Strange thing that it worked on any other phone in my house..)
Anyone?
It should work out of the box. Are you on stock f/w?

Yep. It's not working..
strange. my ps2 controler with ps2 to usb and than over the otg cable works fine.
it could be that the s6 doesn't deliver enough power for the xbox controller.

Nope,it delivers the power but the controller wont find the phone. I don't know why. Everyone on the internet has the same problem..
Solved on s6 active!
After about a week of trying, I have wireless 360 controllers working on my s6 active. I'm using a Microsoft 360 controller receiver and an otg cable. I had to find a legit USB BT Joy Center apk (not the gold version, it kept disconnecting my controller) and then I found an app called Lucky patcher that let me remove the license verification on the app, since it has been abandoned by the developer. No root required! It allows you to keymap, so I can use multiple 360 controllers for emulators (Mario kart tested), and I even used it to play games streaming from my computer with Moonlight. I have the fixed apk file upon request, or you can diy with the instructions above.
Out of the box galaxy s6 doesn't work with with x360 controller. It doesn't event work with regular usb controller that other phones work. You have to remap buttons but it's pointless because phone doesn't recognize analog triggers and joysticks.

USB Joycenter has a feature that works with the MegaN64 and Mupen64 Emulators that allows for analog input. I'm uploading a video tutorial right now, it'll be up in an hour or so. https://youtu.be/I9fvLZMd9bE

Wireless Controller Problem

Hello.
For the last two days I have been trying to make my OMEGA Wireless Gamepad (a copy of the PS Dual Shock controller) work on my Galaxy J7 2016 (6.0.1).
It connects to the phone through Bluetooth as a input device no problem but it won't work further than just that.
I even rooted the phone to try some stuff out but to no avail.
It stays connected but none of the buttons do anything (not in phone menu, not in PPSSPP, not in a bunch of keymapper aps).
So I was wondering is there a way to get this fixed without me having to buy an Micro USB to USB Adapter and trying that out.
Thanks for reading.

Have a hard time get gamepads working with my tablet, need help.

I bought Amazon Fire HD8(2018), I thought I can use it as a budget option for emulator gaming or native gaming.
Everything works fine software wise, but I can't properly connect it with gamepads.
Here are my gamepads:
Steam Controller x2 - it only works in the Steam Link App, and become mouse outside the app.
Dual Shock 4 (gen1) x1 - it can pair and show as "wireless controller" in setting, but just completely not sending any control signal to Android. (googled it, someone said gen1 is not supported by Android, but also many posts say DS4 is usable before gen2 even came out, so I really can't understand why this is not working)
Switch Pro Controller x2 - it can pair, Android do receive its signal, but it has huge input lag and intermittently signal, this is a common issue online, and I can't find a solution so far.
So, that's already 3 kinds of popular controllers I have tried and I don't have other controllers (5 are already a bit too much for me).
Is there anything I can try to make those controllers work? maybe I can install a driver or something?
If there is really no solution for controllers I already have, what's the budget/working/wireless gamepad that recommended to buy for my HD8?
Thanks.
With older versions of Android, it's hard to make gamepads work. There's not much you can do about that. You can try Android-specific Bluetooth gamepads. 8BitDo and Gamesir controllers apparently work well. Moga ones might, too.
@sky1331, have you tried a micro usb OTG adapter yet? It may expand your available options by allowing you to use your controllers wired (albeit at the cost of not being able to charge your tablet while playing).

I have tried a micro USB OTG cable. It doesn't work. I tried with two different controllers and both produced the same result.
XBox One controller model 1697: I first tried the OTG adapter without external power to the HD8 (2018) through the OTG adapter. The controller vibrated and the home light turned on. Then the tablet rebooted without warning. I assumed that the controller was drawing power from the tablet so I also plugged in the power cord for the tablet to the OTG adapter and tried again. Same result. Vibrates, lights up, tablet reboots. If you leave the controller plugged in while it boots, it will bootloop.
Dual Shock 3 model CECHZC2U: Downloaded Sixaxis Compatibility Checker. Method 5 for drivers worked, so I purchased the Sixaxis app. I plugged the controller into my laptop and reassigned the MAC address to my tablets Bluetooth MAC address. Then I clicked "Pair" on the Sixaxis app and waited until I saw "Looking for controller" like I'm supposed to. Then I unplugged the controller from my laptop and pressed the home button. 4 flashing lights that just keep flashing. And flashing. And flashing. Until they all go out like the controller timed out. Damn. So I plugged in the OTG adapter again and plugged the controller into the tablet. It didn't reboot and the 1st light lit up like it was assigned the player 1 spot. So I unplugged it. Immediately all 4 lights started flashing again until it timed out. So I plugged it back into the tablet and got the 1st light again. Then I fired up every app I know of that supports external controllers. Not a single one could detect the controller. Nor could I control Android like I normally can with my spare Moto Z Force with the Moto Gamepad mod. So, no input is being detected at all.
I don't have any other controllers to test, but my guess is that a generic Bluetooth controller might work, but none of the major controllers seem to work so don't get your hopes up. I will also say that I know it's not a problem with the tablet or OTG cable. Both work great when I plug a flash drive into the OTG cable while hooked up to the tablet. The drive shows up just fine.
Edit: I bought a Playstation Classic. I don't have a need for a second controller for it and it comes with 2 so I thought I'd try the extra on the Fire HD 8 2018. It works great using an OTG cable. ePSXe detected it straight away and I can control Android with the controller perfectly fine. Retroarch sees it. So, I've found a solution that meets my needs. I'd have preferred wireless, but I really didnt want to purchase a whole controller for a device I'm not intending to lose or break in 6-9 months but will realistically happen within that timeframe.
It's working, I using the GEN Game Bluetooth Gamepad, it's working.
I'm having the same problem with my Kindle Fire 10 HD 7th gen tablet. I bought a IPEGA PG-9023 Telescopic Wireless Bluetooth Game Controller. It's detected, but it just won't connect. Works fine with the Amazon Firestick 4K. The only difference is that the Firestick uses Bluetooth 5.0 + LE and the Kindle 10" Tablet uses Bluetooth 4.1 + LE which the IPEGA gamepad is supposed to support. I have no idea whatsoever why it won't connect.

anyone tired using PlayStation remote play on fire hd10 11thgen? On my last fire hd8 I tried for months to get it all to work. I could get the PlayStation remotely working but then could not get a DS4 of DS5 to work as stated in the OP.
so any other advice? Thsnks.

I'm using this controller: "Xbox Series X Wireless Controller Electric Volt". It pairs and works fine with Retroarch emulation of nes, snes, ps1, etc.. and Asphalt 8.
