I am currently using Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 model: SM-G7102, stock rom, stock recovery and never rooted.
I am facing problem like system crash, phone creating shortcuts icons by itself and wifi turning on and off itself, its like android firmware is corrupted.
I wanted to use odin to flash a new fresh official firmware but soon figured out that i also can't connect my phone to odin and neither Samsung Kies due to usb driver problem (pc is unable to install CDC serial driver) I also tried different usb cables and different Pcs but still no luck.
I was wondering is there any way to flash a new official firmware using stock recovery or any other method ?
Any help is appreciated
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist.
AFAIK all Samsung Galaxy devices have to use Odin to flash stock firmwares.

So I bought a new S6 SM-G920I. I rooted it just fine with odin, then i tried flashing twrp using odin which failed.
So I got a message saying: recovery is not senaroid enforcing. Then I read that you need to flash stock rom, I think I flashed the wrong one so my S6 says: An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery option in Smart Switch PC software.
Now im stuck and don't know what to do. I went to sam mobile to download right firmware, but there are too many countries to choose, and they dont have USA as an optoin so...
Any help is appreciated

I wanted to use drastic Nintendo DS Emulator for like retro games because I was bored. I tried ways to root it and found KingRoot. It could root my phone and I could get all the functions of the emulator. When I restarted my phone it showed me "Custom Binary is being locked by FRP" 'Secure Boot: kernel failed'. I then went to Sammobile.com to find my firmware. My model was not found. I need your help because I cannot find any ways to fix it.

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
I found a helpful post that may help you solve your issue:
1. Download Firmware for SM-J500G
2. Connect your phone with your pc
3. Open odin and select PDA on older versions or AP on newer versions.
4. Select the stock firmware
5. Click start and wait until its done.

My Model is J5007 not a J500G
Hi,
There is a Firmware for SM-J5007 on sammobile.
Just type in J5007 in the firmware search bar and it will come up as a device.
The guide still applies to your phone (except for the obvious being different models).
Good Luck! - gsstudios
Thanks man
I downloaded the J5007 firmware, used odin and it could work already. A really big thanks.
I tried to install custom rom in my Samsung galaxy note 4 but I failed to do so. Unfortunately I didn't create back up so I don't have any OS in my phone. I'm confused about the model of my phone ..its written sm-n910h in the back. While I look info of my phone putting imei no I get sm-n910c. I tried downloading firmware from sammobile.com n install via Odin. Can't make it work. While installing other rom..it says no md5 file found. M confuse what to do now. I will be very happy if anyone could help me..tq in advance.

Hi yan1175
Thank you for using XDA Assist
The most reliable way to know the real model number of your device is through Download Mode
a) Turn off your device
b) Press [Volume Down] + [Home] + [Power] keys together until it shows a screen
c) Confirm entering Download mode
d) Read your model number
Regarding how to flash a firmware using Odin, please refer to the below thread:

I have the LG-K540 (lg bridge shows it as LGUK750), it's cricket's version of the LG Stylo 2 (lg ls775), and I rooted it with kingroot, used the terminal script to switch to supersu, updated binary (failed), updated supersu after it failed to update binary, and it said successful, now my phone is bricked at the cricket screen. I can factory reset, and boot to download mode, but little good that does with NO stock firmware ANYWHERE.
-LG Bridge says update available but fails right when it starts the download, packet sniffing with wireshark returns only one http request and it is a redirect from cmsg.lg... to lg.com with no url to the firmware
-No stock firmware available on ANY WEBSITE ANYWHERE..
-No custom recoveries for CWM/TWRP for either the ls775 or k540
It's absurd, there's like 10 ways I can unbrick my phone, but they require firmware, or a custom recovery, or a functioning update tool... and none of them work.
If anyone can pull the firmware for me, or point me to a custom recovery, it would be much appreciated. If I can pull the ROM or rec img from download mode, let me know and i'll post it here.
