Thanks for this useful post.

Xiaomi have officially stated that they will stop all development work on MIUI based on Android 4.4 next week and will switch over to building MIUI based on Android 6. The first phone that will receive the update are the Xiaomi Mi3, Xiaomi Mi4 and Xiaomi Mi Note flagship devices. Why are there no Xiaomi Mi 4C?

Maybe because they have to Start with some devices and i think its very fair, that they have chosen devices which havent received Android 5.0 till now. And i dont understand why everybody with a different device starts to cry now. Xiaomi said that these are the first devices, what means that there are others to follow them.

Yeah come to think of it, the phones that will get Marshmallow first are those who are currently stuck with kitkat. Maybe Xiaomi decided to focus the development for those devices as they didn't receive any major android update since they were released.

So, it's impossible to fix the bugs? Just because you're not the owner of that project?
Hello everybody!
I would like to throw a bit of light here. I am the owner of this project for Redmi Pro and somebody asked me in the RMN4 discord group to port it to RMN4 MTK since they are really similar phones, so I also ported it to RMN4 MTK.
I have tried many things in order to solve the remaining bugs but without succeed because I am quite new to ROM developing and it does not look easy since there is only 1 mt6797 with stable Android 7 ROMs AFAIK.

[Firmware] Xiaomi Mi 9T / Redmi K20 [davinci] [Auto updated daily!]

All Xiaomi users suffer from a single problem, Firmware update. As there are many devices with no one to provide the newest firmware update every single release. And also developers who provide updates to devices may forget or be busy sometimes, so releases are provided later. Here is my simple solution:

A set of various script that automatically generates Xiaomi firmware flashable zip files every MIUI new update!
My scripts download MIUI official ROMs, both Developer and Stable, Global and China, extracts the firmware-update folder, generates firmware flashable zip with auto-written "updater-script", and uploads them automatically to many servers.
The scripts are completely automated, running on a Linux server every six hours.

Name's will be in the following manner:
fw_davinci_miui_DAVINCI_*.zip is Xiaomi Redmi K20 (davinci) China firmware.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Firmware? Is it a full ROM or OTA package?
Firmware is not a ROM nor OTA Package, it's a set of low-level drivers which helps the operating system do whatever it wants to do. It includes various things like Modem, Bluetooth, Bootloader, DSP and etc.
Why should I update the Firmware?
Firmware is provided from Xiaomi directly, and there are no sources for it to let developers build and edit it on their own like custom ROMs, so if you want to keep your device up to date always update your firmware!
Do I need updating the Firmware If I'm MIUI official or MIUI custom ROM user?
No, MIUI ROMs contain the firmware-update package which I extract and provide here.
What are the supported devices?
All Snapdragon and MTK devices including China-only devices.
Check the full devices list here
How to update firmware?
1- Download the package you want to flash. IT MUST BE NAMED WITH THE SAME CODENAME OF YOUR DEVICE.
2- Flash it using TWRP or any custom recovery. There's no need to wipe/format anything before or after the installation.
How to check the updated firmware?
Usually, the modem gets updated with newer firmware, you can check it in Settings > About > Baseband.

This is a bit confusing. I might be misreading this but according to this, who needs to install these firmware updates if they're already provided by official MIUI official and custom ROM's?

Sooo... It's for people using custom non-MIUI ROM's like LineageOS, right? Might be a good idea to include this in OP.

What is the difference between T9 global and K20 indian version. Does global have no ad recommendation?

Ok I bricked my phone now by trying to update
I check the link in the xda forum to download the latest fw and flashed it. now the phone doesn't boot and in fastboot it doesn't recognize the phone anymore
Is this a hardbrick?
/edit
If I leave the phone on for a few minutes it recognized in adb but it says something like in recovery. If I try to flash then it says corrupted disk image
/edit 2
i managed to get fastboot to work now.
But flashing recovery doesn't do anything.
Is there anyway to get the phone running again?

The only differences are that the EEA version contains some certificates that the European Union requires, and the version number.
Something similar happens with the versions for Russia and India.
There may be some other small changes. For example, the Chinese version does not contain Widevine L1 support for Netflix, but there's no any "special" feature you find in one of them and not the others.
I've used EEA and Global. They are basically the same.
It's nonesense I know, they should make 1 single ROM for all the world.
Flashed 10.3.9.0 and did a reboot into twrp. now its stuck at the mi logo - flashed twrp again with adb - Cant boot into twrp. Typed "boot twrp.img" into adb - it reboots and stucks at mi logo. wtf

This happened to me as well. Recovered by flashing the fastboot rom using the flash tool. You can try saving your files by not flashing user data and installing twrp immediately after flashing. Boot twrp and copy your files.

[Firmware] Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro / Redmi K20 Pro / Premium [raphael] [Auto updated daily!]

All Xiaomi users suffer from a single problem, Firmware update. As there are many devices with no one to provide the newest firmware update every single release. And also developers who provide updates to devices may forget or be busy sometimes, so releases are provided later. Here is my simple solution:

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Firmware? Is it a full ROM or OTA package?
Firmware is not a ROM nor OTA Package, it's a set of low-level drivers which helps the operating system do whatever it wants to do. It includes various things like Modem, Bluetooth, Bootloader, DSP and etc.
Why should I update the Firmware?
Firmware is provided from Xiaomi directly, and there are no sources for it to let developers build and edit it on their own like custom ROMs, so if you want to keep your device up to date always update your firmware!
Do I need updating the Firmware If I'm MIUI official or custom ROM user?

Noob question...
I have been on Indian miui k20 pro, have flashed a custom ROM RR.
I find they have asked for flashin China ROM first and then RR...I have updated directly on Indian global stable without any issues. Everything works as interned
Will I face any problem if I flash China firmware 10.3.16.0 now while keeping vendor from Indian global stable?

Mostly no, but it's preferred to stick with the ROM's advised version of firmware and vendor to avoid unnecessary problems.

will you include fastboot roms?

Fastboot ROMs are firmware ROMs these are tgz files and are flashed with the Miflash tool.
Recovery ROMs are zip files and can be flashed with a custom recovery like twrp.
I kind of screwed up by wiping my Mi 9T Pro through TWRP a bit too good, so I got stuck in fastboot. But because Xiaomi hasn't released the 9T Pro stock rom yet, I was forced to flash an older faatboot rom for the K20 Pro. I then was able to flash back TWRP and install havoc, but now I am on older firmware. Do you recommend I update to .16 firmware or wait until Xiaomi releases the fastboot rom for the 9T Pro and clean install the device? Thanks in advance!

MIUI 11 for POCO F1 Rolling out from Oct 22....and Disappointment :(

Update : According to the Admin of POCO F1 MIUI Global Stable Beta Tester group in Telegram, the MIUI 11 release date given is the release date for testers, and not for public users. Public users will get it 2-3 weeks later once the test is successfully completed.
There hasn't been any other updates or confirmations regarding this, but given the fact that Beta Stable always precedes Global Stable, I would expect the former to be released to a limited number of users during the above mentioned time frame. So if you do not receive the update, do not panic. Beta Stable is a test release and might contain bugs. Kindly wait for the Global release.
Those who wants to join to MIUI Global Beta Stable Tester can refer to this thread and join the group - https://c.mi.com/thread-2480831-1-0.html

Update 2 : According to Alvin Tse's tweet, the POCO team has started limited testing for MIUI 11 yesterday. If all goes smoothly, users should see MIUI 11 in couple weeks or so. He has also confirmed that the update may come sooner to public if the testing goes well. He quoted "It depends on testing. If testing goes well, it'll come sooner ".

It can be 10 as well because Xiaomi is testing close beta 10 for poco as well with their secret beta program that was floated around the time public beta closed down.
We understand the frustration but even if it's 9 you wouldn't see much difference as ultimately it's miui 11 and you are not using Android Stock. Plus 10 wouldn't be much far ahead, it can come as close as next month

Officially Android 10 was released not long ago. What kind of angry bull**** you are trying to imitate? May be you don't deserve Xiaomi phone at all.
nice info...
i will not using MIUI 11
but i hope it will push dev to make ROM 10 more better and stable....
The 2 BIG Questions are:
1) Whether MIUI 11 will update OK over OTA (using just the phone itself as promised) without any hitch?
2) We can keep our Settings/Data and Apps when upgrading from mIUI v10 to v11 ?
Google Link to last 24 hours news on Poco MIUI 11 for the next few weeks, should see some interesting feedback after release in reviews:

I'm currently running the 9.9.27 version of MiRoom, which is MIUI 11.
It comes with Android 9.0
I'm assuming it'll be the same with official.
We will get always on feature?
I am asking that because poco f1 is not amoled display and without amoled display it will consume too much battery...any answer?
People must be happy that they will be receiving MIUI 11, otherwise there was no news about on POCO till last few days. Ever since the CEO of Poco left the company, there was no talk anymore about this phone anymore and suddenly Redme K20 came up.
Those who have bought this phone with their hard earned money, must deal with its issues (like I do) or better switch the phone. Otherwise our hardworking XDA devs are doing their best to provide best possible experience from our device with their custom Roms, that we won't feel our phonel outdated atleast for next 3 years, we all must be thankful to them.

I want to ask that can I flash the full beryllium latest OTA zip in TWRP as I did it on my oneplus 3t or I will need Mi flash tool to make clean flash.

There are two options:
1) you purchased Redmi K30 with so called "Global ROM" (firmware from Poco X2). In this case you'll have NFC but it's removed from X2 Settings (software). So, install TWRP and flash xiaomi.eu ROM (latest so far is 20.3.5 or Stable 11.0.13.0), then flash patch for hiding root and unlocked bootloader from Google Services - and you have NFC working!
2) you purchased pure Poco X2. In this case I'm afraid you don't have NFC anyway

Magisk is a bit buggy. Fails CTS profile and stuck on bootlogo upon installing certain modules.
How do you install magisk anyway? I am currently using MIUIeu 11.0.13. Patched boot.img with magisk & flashed using Twrp. Passed ctsprofile.

Redmi K30 is the chinese version, so there's clearly chinese apps.
The bootloader is sure unlockable. TWRP, root and custom ROMs (xiaomi.eu) are available, so installing multi language ROM with no chinese apps is sure possible.
Redmi Note 9 Max... - I'm not sure that it was presented at global market... I know for sure that Redm8i Note 9s is the global version of RN9 (not Max).
Bottom line:
if you find clearly "global version" RN9 Max - and YOU'RE OK WITH NO NFC - go for it. Its advantage over K30 is bigger battery (5020 mAh vs 4500 mAh).
The major advantage of K30 is NFC (and Sony IMX 686) over the Redmi Note 9 series.
The processors (730G vs 720G) are quite on peer (730G has a bit overlocked GPU and that's it).

Well, I love my K30 (however in my particular item the screen goes a little bit into yellow shades).
The great performance, battery life, camera and NFC make it a great choice.
The only thing which is better in Redmi Note 9 series is a bigger battery. In all other K30 is IMHO a bit better.

Here's xiaomi.eu website:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/
Chose MIUI 12 dowmloads or MIUI 11 stable ROMs. Then find your device in the firmware list.
Just flash it via TWRP, no "hiding" patches are needed, GPay will work at default.
If you want to back your phone into Poco x2, try these simple solutions
1. Download both fastboot rom for k30 (China) and Poco x2 (global).
2. Extract both ROMs on your computer desktop.
3. Open China rom folder then delete the images folder.
4. Open global rom folder then copy and paste images folder into the China rom folder
5. Flash China fastboot rom, it boot to Poco x2 global rom
