This morning, at&t update software downloaded a file approximately 700mb big, and when I attempted to update it started the reboot process, as it should, but then stopped abruptly and went back to booting the phone again, and update was not done. At first I thought it was marshmallow, but based on other posts here I see it was just 5.1.1 (right?) anyway, when I went back to software update it said "software update could not be completed" or something along those lines, and then this happened

Now I am unable to update, because the button is greyed out. What do I do? I was told marshmallow was coming soon why are they playing with out little hearts like that? [emoji20]

Did the same for me. 1st set your date to Manual and change the date to sometime past the 11 hours. Clear your cache and delete a few unused apps. Download the update and It will then install fine.
Thanks for your help. It worked. After doing some research, I found list of upgrades that include samsung pay, UHQ audio and some other stuff. Does that apply to note edge, though? Or only s6 and above?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using Tapatalk
There has been no change list for the Edge. I don't see any major differences, or any really at all. Performance had been much better, though.
So samsung pay is hardware based and note edge doesn't have it?

**Edit**
Did a search of my problem online and it seems that Motorola is trying to push an update to me? It will only download with an active wi-fi connection for some reason. Also I just tried updating my phone in settings and instead of saying nothing was available, its errors out because i'm not on a wi-fi network. Anybody confirm this for me please?
An update? Thats interesting...
I just hooked up my phone to a wifi and its auto downloading an update.

lol right?
I just checked my update status and it reads no update is necessary at this time? Any idea yet what the update is?
Its the first update we found on cheesecake. Its not official and I'm working with Mark the admin with Motorola to find out what it is. I guess he's gonna do something on moto's side. We shall see shortly.

Make him upload stuff to help unlock the bootloader. xD
Actually haha I am going to ping him tomorrow about that. Maybe he has some insight on when an official update is coming
I've been reading articles about a recent major update to Google Maps, but so far nothing appears to have changed on my phone (or tablet, for that matter) and the Play Store tells me I've got the latest.
Anyone know what gives with this? Does anyone have the new version?

Good for a laugh first thing this morning lol
Thanks. Didn't realize they maintained different "versions" of the app targeted to specific O/Ss and devices. Hey -- my app runs on anything from 2.3 up!

The lastest update really does suck !
I was on the free way, but it showed my position on the street next to the free way. It had never happened before the update. So I don't recommend people to update. And my GPS signal is pretty good (16/25 sat.), so there is nothing wrong with my gps, but the app itself.
Agreed, if you can keep from updating, definitely hold out. Mine wouldn't keep up with my position in navigator and it was telling me to turn in directions which weren't even possible. They've introduced some major bugs with this update. I reverted back to an older version and I'm good to go now.

Do you know if we are currently rooted and do the update, we will probably lose root access right? Also, is the new OTA update including kit kat?

You won't get OTA if rooted first of all. The update is not Kitkat, just patches to the original firmware.
idt we will get katkat officially, 8.0 might

Just got a new update installed on my V10. New software version is H90021v. The only thing that I immediately see as different is "Wi-Fi Calling" in the notification bar

I'm not. Everything seems ok for me. Cell reception appears a little better in a couple of my local bad spots

I'm gonna factory reset, maybe that'll fix it.
The factory reset did the trick, this wi-fi calling is smooth!
I have a AT&T LG V-10 LG-H900 and my phone updated late Monday afternoon. I agree that so far "WiFi-Calling" is the most notable change. So far so good

They also patched some of the quadroot exploits
The 3 standouts are WiFi calling (and its beatdown on battery if enabled); July security patch; my phone is noticeably snappier, especially considering its performance was perfectly acceptable before the update.

I just updated and now my Snapchat camera looks horrible! It was so perfect and clear before.
Any way I can download and install manually?
I normally disable virus programs on all my Android devices. However on the honor 8 i couldn't locate it and earlier today i got the following notification. Bearing in mind ive had the device for two months now with said app installed.

Lol found the phone manager , it was under apps. Haha was looking for it under settings.

Pretty sure the warning message is because of the performance and usage monitoring and reporting that's part of the T-Mobile app. I seem to recall that on my older branded phone when you launch the T-Mobile app the first time it comes up with a dialog asking for permission to share metrics, etc. with the carrier.
That's preinstalled and there's nothing you can do about it without rooting on carrier-branded phones, but on an unbranded phone like the Honor 8 it's hopefully not present.
