It's quite obvious what you should do, if you broke something you'll have to replace it or fix it yourself. If the cable is using connectors on both sides, you can try to find the cable only, but if it's soldered on one side or both, you'd have to replace the entire part, I think it's the cable and usb port in this case

replacing back button

hi all
i had replacedmy screen since its broken
but after replacing , the BACK button doesnt work anymore , please guys help me with solving this ,
the small cable that connected to the copper frame under the button is cut , but i think it should work when i try to connect it manually with the copper frame
is there any suggestions plzzz
plz guyss any helppppppppppppp
You cut the cable?!
No idea. Why can't you just take it back to a repair centre so someone with more experience can fix it properly for you?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I am a samsung tech and I order the screen as a whole.
Only bits you save are the mainboard, back, battery and battery cover.
everything else is replaced.
if you find anything else on ebay its a fake part and will void your warranty if anything else goes wrong.
So if you do take it to a service centre they will charge you for a £90 part and labour
why it doesnt work when i connect the cable manually ???? hell why all of samsung galaxy parts r hard to deal with !!! , hard to replace the screen , hard to fix anything
its not my problem when i want to replace the screen and its glued to everything , its idiot
Samsungs are very easy to fix if you have official parts. Phone companies are doing this to cut down the blackmarket of phone parts.
Sent from my NCC-74656!
Think if that cheap fake part drawes more power then the standard and damages the mainboard why is its samsunga job to fix it?

Touchscreen Is Not working Ater Replacing LCD Flex Cable Connector

My touchscreen is not working anymore after replacing the connector of the lcd cable -> http://www.casestores.com/images/v/20120920/696/CC11CD63.jpg . I recently changed also the mainbord flex cable -> http://www.consoleplug.com/Products...r HTC Sensation Motherboard Flex Cable-A2.gif
It is impossible for me to flash it because my recovery requires the touchscreen.
What can I do ?
You Can Flash Clockworkmod recovery via Fastboot .
It requires no Touch But isnt the best in my opinion But should work.

So you think its a software related problem. The LCD flex cable 23 pins connector which is soldered newly should have no impact on the touch screen, the only function of it is making the lcd work am İ right? İ tried 2 different touch screens without succes. The volume buttons which the connector is on the mainbord I replaced like I said above are working. I want to understand why it is a software related problemen then.

I hope so. I will try it out tuesday. Thanks for the information. If someone else had this problem too, your welcome to give me some support.
Anyone with an other solution ?
I've flashed CWM but no avail. I don't get it why should my touch screen not work after replacing the lcd flex cable. It has nothing to with that.

[Q] Vibrations not working - back cover won't stick

Hey guys,
last night I decided to replace the back cover of my Xperia Z3. I've ordered an original one and got to work. First problem is that it won't stick - the adhesive sucks. Shall I heat it up with a hair dryer or something? I don't want to damage anything inside the phone itself. And here we go to the second problem - after installing the new back cover the vibrations stopped working. I've performed a full wipe, reinstalled another ROM (wiped System, Data, Dalvik and so on) but it still won't work. Since it's a hardware problem, which part shall I check and then replace? The buzzer itself or maybe some connections?
Thanks in advance
Anyone?

Z3 shares same flex cable for the power, volume buttons, lcd and vibration so u need to check the flex cable.
I recently replaced mine due to stupid service center people refused to entertain my warranty.
If you not so sure, u can take help from professionals.
And you can get the adhesive online somewhere if you damaged the supplied adhesive with the back panel.
Also be very careful while putting that adeshive first put on the panel and stick the panel to phone back.
Gud luck..

Thanks, I just ordered the flex cable yesterday after some reading and I will be replacing it today or tomorrow. My warranty was refused due to me replacing the back panel on my own :good: Thumbs up for all the warranty services. Soon we won't be able to change wallpapers without getting our warranty void.

you sure the flex cable is not faulty?
also try to diagnose the vibration by system diagnostic.

It was brand new and everything else works.
EDIT: now the upper part of the screen won't work... Today is just one of those days... I changed the flex cables back and forth - same issue. No vibrations and no upper screen reaction. FML.

Can u check with old flex if the screen is functioning if yes then your new cable must be faulty.
I had no such issues, and since you yourself opened the device it should not have any issue with motherboard

I switched between flex cables and the problems persists. I've been sitting and trying to fix this with various ROMs, cables, buzzers and other things for 8 hours now. I'm gonna reassemble the phone as carefully as possible, flash stock ROM and send it to Sony again. Maybe this time I'll get lucky and they won't see that it's been opened... I don't feel like spending 300$ on fixing it on my own.

Were you ever able to fix this? I had the same exact problem as you, replaced the LCD/digitizer on my Z3 (D6603) and then re-installed everything and now my vibrate motor doesn't work. I bought a new flex cable/with vibrator motor, installed the new one, but the same problem occurs. Vibrate doesn't work at all.

Unfortunately, along with the vibrations, also my screen stopped working. I gave it to the warranty service, where they told me it's my fault, cause the damage is mechanical (how? I have no clue, cause there was not a single scratch on the phone) and they proposed a repair that would cost 110% of the phone's market value. I simply sold it for parts on eBay and bought an SGS6 Edge. No more Sony for me - their support sucks ape balls.

I can confirm the fuse fixed my buzzer.
My fuse had blown open somehow so I replaced it from a donor board and now it vibrates as it should.
Oh it's just above the clip that holds the board in place to the left of the large cable j-tag connector for the on/off vol camera and buzzer/vibratorView attachment 4720024
Yes that's the Z3 dual but is the same for the D6603
And he sold his phone by parts at last
Lol ?.. ......
I enjoyed this a lot
Hahahahaha

The screen is probably dead from getting wet. I recommend buying a used Nexus 5 with a working screen and swap motherboards.
