I had purchased Teewe 2 Dongle from flipkart during Big Billion days for ₹999/-.
For your information Teewee is a HDMI dongle just like Google chromecast using which you can play the media stored on your phone/pc on your TV with HDMI. So i wasn't expecting much other than playing my media from the phone/pc.
But to my surprise Teewe 2 is running a full blown Android 4.2.2 . You can convert your TV into android smart TV using Teewee. Just follow the instructions below:
Requirements:
1. You need a Teewee dongle (obvious)
2. You need an android phone
Thats it.
Instructions:
1. Install ES File Explorer and Handy Smart TV on your android phone.
2. Download Handy Smart TV Launcher apk from mod edit - link removed
3. Connect Teewee to your TV and power it on.
4.Open ES File Explorer and select the Android TV option from the menu. It will display a device called rkXXXXXX. click on it and Select Applications
5. From the menu select install and browse to the location where you downloaded Handy Smart TV Launcher.apk. Voila The launcher is installed on your Teewee
6.. power off and power on your teewee.
7. open handy smart tv app on your smart phone. It should have connected to your teewee by now. In case it is not connected connect it by clicking the icon on the top right side. it should turn into blue from grey. press the home button on the Handy Smart TV app. It should launch the handy Smart TV launcher. U can also launch the Handy SMart TV launcher from the ESFileExplorer app from your android phone.
8. To learn how to use Handy Smart TV Launcher visit here
How to Install Google Play Store
1.you need to have adb tools installed on your PC and should have knowledge on how to use adb.
2. type the following command on your PC.
Code:
adb connect 192.168.1.101
where 192.168.1.101 is the IP address of the teewe dongle
you should get a response as
Code:
connected to 192.168.1.101
type
Code:
adb shell
on your PC
you should get a shell prompt which is already has root access
Code:
[email protected]:/ #
Now mount the /system folder with r/w access by the following command
Code:
mount -o remount,rw -t rfs /dev/block/st19 /system
exit
unzip files in the Gapps.zip , move to /system/app on your PC and type the following commands
Code:
adb push GoogleBackupTransport.apk /system/app
adb push GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk /system/app
adb push GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk /system/app
adb push GoogleLoginService.apk /system/app
adb push GoogleServicesFramework.apk /system/app
adb push NetworkLocation.apk /system/app
adb push OneTimeInitializer.apk /system/app
adb push Phonesky.apk /system/app
adb push SetupWizard.apk /system/app
The device is already rooted but the su binary is not updated and has root access to adb shell only so to have root access to other apps push the files in Root.zip . This is an optional step only for those who need root access.
Code:
adb push busybox /system/bin
adb push su /system/bin
adb install Superuser.apk
adb shell
chmod 4755 /system/bin/busybox
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
and finally mount /system as r/o.
Code:
mount -o remount,ro -t rfs /dev/block/st19 /system
exit
adb reboot
Thnk u so much
i followed ur steps carefullly and its worked !
thank you so much for sharing this awsum information ..im so happy
EDIT:[DETAILED INSTRUCTION UPDATED in the OPENING POST]
Google play is easy to install. Use adb connect to connect to the teewe . u will get a shell with root access . mount /system as r/w. push the google files necessary to /system/app folder. Mount /system as r/o.
Detailed instructions will follow as i am outside on holiday.

I had a similar issue. Went to ES Explorer.. selected Handy Smart and selected "launch"
Hope this helped
Thanks for this post. I could get the android TV functionality on my Teewe2. I have installed Kodi (XBMC) and now able to enjoy movies from my NAS. I tried installing play store but it needs Google play services to be installed. How do I get the correct version of google play services?
Application not installed...do you want to install. after opening handy smart. please help me out and unable to change the default launcher
Press the home button on the phone app. It should launch the launcher on TV. if it doesn't work, disconnect by long press the connection icon on the phone app and reconnect by pressing once. If u make handy smart tv launcher as default launcher, teewe app will not work even if u launch it from menu.( anyway i dont think u need it now).
Expect Google Play detailed installation procedure on 27/10/15
Need Play store to install the apps. Short procedure is posted above. Detailed procedure on 27/10/15 when i reach back home

I too had shutdowns when the power source was TV or some other USB based Power source. I connected to the STB USB there too i had reboots.I think the Full Android requires more power and the power from TV/STB is not suffiecient. Once I shifted to the plug based power souce, no reboots so far.

Hi all
I bought my Galaxy S from Abu Dhabi just to latter figure out that it DOESNT come with Market, instead, it comes with a useless SLIDEME... where NONE of the major apps are available. So I searched everywhere and never found a straight answer...
Time for desperate tries than.... and what worked for me was:
I assume NO RESPONSABILITY for this, it might work for phones from other countries.
Try at your own risk.
I won’t be available to help out, I just want to share what I did and worked.
(You can find more details for the individual steps browsing this forum)
Install latest version of Kies
Install the firmware update from Kies (froyo, if already not installed)
Reboot you phone
Change the following settings on the phone:
Apps -> Settings -> Applications
Mark: Unknown Sources
Click on -> Development
Mark USB Debugging and Stay awake
Connect your phone to your PC with the USB cable
Download the latest version of the “SuperOneClick” root tool (I used 1.5.5-ShortFuse)
Unzip it to an easy folder to access by command line (DOS prompt), something like: “C:\super”
Root your phone using this tool (READ the instructions on their webpage, all I had to do was execute the SuperOneClick.exe, click "root" and wait for the process to finish, AGAIN, more details on the post about the SuperOneClick.)
Reboot
(If your rooting worked, you should see an “app” called “superuser”)
Now, on your phone, unmark the “USB Debugging” option you marked on the beginning (you will have to “disconnect” the phone click on the home button to do that)
Open a command line prompt you your pc, and change directory to where you unzipped the SuperOneClick files.
If you are you the right folder, you should see an “adb.exe”
Type the following commands (NO MISTAKES ALLOWED HERE, PAY ATTENTION):
adb shell
Hit enter
su
enter again
your phone should pop up SuperUser app, asking for super user permission for the shell, click Allow (and mark remember)
your command line will change from $ to #, meaning, you are root user.
I suggest you copy and paste the following because any mistake (missing or extra spaces) can cause serious problems
Type:
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
hit enter
cat /system/ojpcom/Vending.apk > /system/app/Vending.apk
hit enter
mount –o ro,remount –t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
hit enter
exit
hit enter
exit
hit enter
(no message will show up after this commands if they were successful)
Reboot you phone, unplug USB cable.
Market should be one of your Apps now
Thaaaaaaank youuuu
You solved it finally, it works like charm thank you,.,.,
WOW!! Great!!!
Finally i can access Android Market from Iran (via VPN).
Thanks a lot
when you do this your phone will be out of warranty.if you venture that then flash a proper custom rom which already includes latest market plus custom rom features.
I got this message "cannot create /system/app/Vending.apk": read only file system . Any help?

ROOT;
I have purchased one of these and they are quite easy to get root using Visionary+ for temporary root option to push su and Busy Box, then use Z4root for permanent # works quote well and easy and
Checkout the rooting video here (http://www.youtube.com/user/mayiandjay) for an easier way just using z4root.
ADB OVER Wi-FI;
once you can get adb to recognise it (using terminal emulator on the phone
"setprop service.adb.tcp.port 5555"
then
"stop adbd"
"start adbd"
from there you can use your pc to run
"adb connect *insert IP address here*"
UPDATE: I found how to get ADB access over USB... I just insta;;ed the PdaNetA302.exe file from http://www.alcatel-mobilephones.com/global/content/view/full/25287
and then disconnected when advised to, reconnected when advised to, then BAM!!! working ADB..
I wish I had known about this a week ago...
From here you can have access to all supported adb commands including shell for # access, also for pushing and pulling files from the goo,
UOT KITCHEN; (Be careful dangerous)
I used the "ADB PULL" command to pull "/system/framework/framework-res.apk"
from the device, I then used the UOT Kitchen to modify it to my liking once I got the uot .zip file, I extracted the framework-res.apk file and used "adb push" to overwrite the one inside /system/framework/ dir.
(use a pc to push, not the phone explorer copy paste... Lol I bricked mine by using the file explorer, see the rest of the post for more info....)
RECOVERY MODE, DOWNLOAD MODE and BOOT ANIMATION;
some other usefull info is that you do not have to wait for the phone to run dead if you use the wrong key combo whilst booting ( trying to get into recovery hold home button whilst turning on then 5 seconds after "gooapple" appears let go of home and then press it again) you will get recovery console, where you can change the boot animation to the static apple or the gooapple animation, you can also do a factory reset or clear cache, from here you can also run an "update.zip" file but unfortunatly after i 1/2 bricked mine i stupidly did a factory reset and lost rw on /system (loosing bus box and su) (CRAP!!!) i was using the above mentioned method to use the "uot kitchen" to retheme the framework-res.apk file of the goo, and it was working fine when pushing the framework-res.apk to the phones /system/framework/ dir using a pc, but I got lazy and stupidly did a copy / paste using the phone to return to the original framework-res.apk (i know dumbass right) and then she rebooted to infinate bootlooping (F#@K!!!) I can now get into recovery mode and unfortunatly I cannot get my update.zip that pushes busybox and su etc to sign properly so that I can copy via update.zip the backed up version of framework-res.apk back to the now read only /system/framework dir.... (possible Brick anyone?)
SECRET (hidden) RESET BUTTON;
So... continuing on... to reboot the phone if it locks up and stops responding, you need either the original simtray pin or something like a multimeter probe and stick it down the headphone jack, down there there is a hard reset button, (get a torch and look for yourself if you don't believe me) hope this helps people...
DRIVERS;
Also I downloaded the qualcomm MSM drivers from 4shared and can now connect to the phone cos I noticed that if you boot the phone using the down volume key (i think) with the USB connected you can get nothing come up onscreen on the phone but the PC picks up a new device, the 4shared drivers worked but unfortunately that's where my knowledge stops...
FLASH TOOL;
I downloaded the flash (or google translated "brush") tool from mobileuncle but untill I find someone sharing the rom, or system.img it is usless to me...
UPGRADING EXT. STORAGE;
Something interesting for the rest of you is that the Gooapple 3g ( shows as A4-3G) and the preproduction iOrange Gt-6 (also shows as A4-3G) seem to look the same on the inside, I have both ( but liked the good ol F#@K you Apple, with the apple eating an android boot animation and apple in a android symbol on the back of the device ) I have opened both of them up (use a very small screwdriver on the screws between the speakers and 30pin dock connector on the base, remove these screws and slide the back plate up towards the power button (gentle no to break the retaining nuts on the back plate), from here you can undo the bit of tape and lift the battery up out of the way ( its soldered in so be careful, seeing as its always powered and easyier to short something out ) then next to where the battery sits you will see the back of a micro SD card (this is you external storage) if you get your nail and press on the back of it you will notice it is held by a spring retainer and will pop out a bit, from here press it in half way again with your nail and slip your nail off it, releasing the spring tension, flicking the micro sd card out into the casing (and hopefully not across the room)
you should now find either a 4GB, 8GB, 16GB or possibly a 32GB micro SD card came out depending on the model you chose, if you chose a 4GB or 8GB like i did you can replace it with an inexpensive 16GB Micro SD card put it back together and reboot, This is how I have tried copying my "update.zip" with Busybox and Su files (see above, that wont sign!!! GRRRR) the recovery console recognises the file but says signature authentication fail....
I could sign my "update.zip" for my framework-res.apk file but without Busybox or system RW it is useless.. it passes authentication but without rw on system it is useless....
GPS SERVER CHANGE;
Also, using faster fix off the market (need root) you can change the GPS server for better GPS performance.

CREATING A EXTRACTED SYSTEM AS SYSTEM.IMG
for windows pc,
Go to http://db.tt/GAyvuDE (thanks Dastin1015) download and extract to your sdk/platform-tools folder
Rename mkfs.yaffs2.arm to mkfs.yaffs2 (delete the .arm extension)
open up command prompt (if you don't know how to do this in your current windows environment by now then just give up now)
change dir to the platform-tools dir in the sdk,
TYPE: adb push mkfs.yaffs2 /data/misc/mkfs.yaffs2
then pick up your shinny gooApple device;
open root explorer and navigate to mkfs.yaffs2 select and hold, change to have execute permissions
Back on the PC;
adb shell
su
# cd /data/misc
# ./mkfs.yaffs2 /system /sdcard/system.img
# exit
adb pull /sdcard/system.img ./system.img
I got a 176Mb system.img with "Build ok."
DUMP RECOVERY and BOOT IMAGES
you'll need dump_image from http://db.tt/9EANtEX (Thanks Dastin1015)
copy to your platform-tools folder in your androidsdk dir
do the same as above and push to /data/misc
then as before, change permissions of dump_image in root explorer to have execute. reboot device
Then you can run command prompt
go to your sdk platform-tools directory
run;
adb shell
cd data/misc
./dump_image boot /sdcard/boot.img
./dump_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
exit
adb pull /data/misc/boot.img ./boot.img
adb pull /data/misc/recovery.img ./recovery.img

C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools> adb shell chmod 747 /system/bin/flash_image
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools> adb shell
# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
9) If you see a bunch of successful on your screen then it has flashed properly.
boot into recovery, hold home whilst powering on, after 5 long seconds, let go of home and then push home again, you will need to put the volume/menu-back toggle to "volume" mode and according to deepakpitrola333, you need to cycle the list 3 times using volume to allow selection.

CHEERS!!! - KEG.
Thanks for info on the gooapple, its good stuff.
Any idea on how to do any of the following:
- restore original recovery screen
- get a clockworkmod recovery image to work
- do a nandroid backup
i have managed to get the applestyle home apks and the keyboard and stuff and so want to install another rom. I flashed a random clockworkmod image but now i dont get any recovery screen at all, its gets stuck on apple every time on every button combo/method.
if its not too much to ask, could you check if you can run fpse the psx emulator on your gooapple, it crashes to home straight after loading a game even tho i have a bios. psx4droid works but is choppy, similarly specd phones like the wildfire s and legend can play fpse games like ff7 very well.
Gooapple GPS
Do you now how to acivate the GPS on the gooapple.
Have this phone a GPS chip like SiRF III chip?
Is it possible to use it with navigation software?
Did you purchase it? If you did that, please, send me link to rom dump after you dump it or you know already existing link?
Sent from my IDEOS S7 Slim using XDA App
this phone has a sirf III and installing a gps program makes the gps work.
i cant dump the rom without getting a clockworkmod recovery image that works for this phone, unless you know of a way jon2555.
Hey guys, the best way I found to toggle gps on (because it does not show up in networks) is by installing go launcher so you get a shortcut to it in your apps, the press home and set applestyle as default again, then go through your drawer and select the go launcher shortcut, from there add the power control widget, from there you can toggle gps...
Also I have been nagging the people at the gooapple factoryand they advised they may add a downloadable firmware upgrade soon...., fingers crossed as mine is currenly half bricked, I got access to the fastboot by downloading the microsoft mobile drivers update, that lets fastboot recognise it when you reset with the vol down button, but need to read up on how to use it....
I had a quick readup on fastboot commands, and I have written an update script (The one that I cant sign), and I'm going to try to run it with fastboot as my limited and unexperienced understandung is that through fastboot you dont need signed updates...., unfortunatly I left my goo at work on wednesday and I was in Sydney all day today, so i wont be able to try it out untill I return to work in freezing Canberra tomorrow... Fingers crossed, and if I can successfully get it working again I will try to find a way to dump the partitions and make an update.zip that rewrites all of /system (if possible), so next time i kill it, I may have a better chance recovering from my mistakes (or pure lazyness....)
jon2555, no rom yet, but Hat007 did previously do an app dump of all the apps on gooapple 3g here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245655
(thanks hat007)
and as deepakpitrola333 said, until somebody can put a working clockwork on it, we are out of luck regarding nandroid backups.... and my goo is currently bricked so i cant do much with it, and i gave my gt-6 to my daughter already, so no chance of getting that back......
Gooapple Firmware ROM Update
Hi All,
I'm New to this. Is there going to be a ROM or Firmware Update? if so how is it going to be done? Which Website??
I've bought mine from Android-Sale.
Has anyone else bought there's from Android Sale?
Also Is there a FIX to Make the Unlock Slider Back to English without the Stupid Chinese Symbol TXT??
Also Is anyone having Trouble with there Built-In GPS?? I cant get mine to Work??
I Look Forward to your Comments.
Cheers.....
hey spookie,
kegatron has said to toggle the gps from go launcher, which enables an android style interface with power options for bluetooth, gps, wifi etc by widget or otherwise. I assume you can do this with the stock froyo launcher too.
Home key can select the launcher after a third is installed.
I got mine from fastcardtech as they gave a discount over android sale, however it will be gooapple themselves releasing the update and or rom in the future.
With so many units sold, there is gonna be stuff up soon.
If someone knows how to make thier own clockworkmod recovery, the rom can be uploaded by anyone with the phone. I have no clue who to ask to do this tho.
The chinese in the lock screen is not something i know how to change but as i said a stock froyo launcher and lock screen can be used instead. Helps with the long icon name problem too.
If its not too much to ask can you check if fpse, the psx emulator, works on your phone. It crashes straight away on mine but all psx4droid versions work but as it is known, psx4droid is considerably slower, like 10-20 fps slower making final fantasy games run 50fps max and 35-40 normally which is too choppy.
I hope what i have said helps, gps isnt on all the time so try to toggle it like keg said and if you know anyone who can write custom recovery images, get them over here
i also assume you have rooted to get rid of all chinese from system icons/folders
Hey Spookie,
With the GPS, I was still using the applestyle launcher but one of the good things about go launcher is the fact that it has a app link in your app drawer, meaning you can select the applestyle launcher as the default and still have access to go launcher without too much hassle (just select it in the apps on your home screen)
So with that said I assume you have root?, if not... get it... Lols..
from there you can get rid of the standard Chinese crud that I cant read like baidu input or whatever its called, QQ (whatever that is...) etc. using Titanium backup (CAREFUL FOR WHAT YOU UNINSTALL, and batch backup everything first!!!), I'l put up a list of what can be uninstalled safely once I get mine working again. and you can fix the server your GPS is looking for by using FasterFix from teh market (you need root for this)
And the gooapple webpage is quite easy to find.... I just googled gooapple and funnily enough the webpage's name wasn't too cryptic (its www.googapple.com lol) just use the google chrome browser to automaticly translate the Chinese and for most of the bad translations you can still work it out..
Hope this helps...
BTW, I'm looking into rewriting my update.zip file for my framework-res.apk file as the scripting is different using fastboot and I need to read up on it.. give me time
I need to work out what needs to be in the android-info.txt and android-product.txt files....
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all you Help & input.. However I'm Very Confused and Lost?? Yes I've installed Z4Root.
But Now That I've installed this App. How can I BACKUP the Whole ROM as it is before I Start to Uninstall all thoses Chinese APPs etc??
Also What Input Keyboard do I install? Which one is the Chinese Keyboard??
I'm Wanting to keep the Stlye of the Phone as it is when I bought it but wanting to Take Out the Chinese Junk, and Install just want I want in English.
As for the GPS, is there a Way to Keep it always Switch on From First turning on the Phone??
I do hope you dont think I'm a Stupid Person??
I dont want to Brick or Destroy this Phone?? Just want the Chinese Junk Out and GPS & the Unlock Slider Fixed?? Do hope they Bring out Firmware or ROM Update? I'm picking it's going to be on here once it's Relesed??
Look Forward to your Comments.
Regards
Spookie...

Any Thought's Or Comments??

Hey Spookie,
Sorry champ, if I misdirected you, what I ment by batch backup all the apps first was to do with "Titanium Backup" from the market, it requires root access
to test for correct root access, you should get # when you type su in a terminal emulator.
try this once you have it installed,
Download the Iphone keyboard from the market, the go to settings, keyboard, and enable the iphone keyboard (tick box) then, find any text box and press and hold the box untill "input method" comes up select iphone keyboard
Once you have the iphone keyboard working, you can then delete the baidu (or whatever it was called) keyboard, by opening Titanium backup, accept super user access, then go to "backup / Restore" then press the menu key (vol up) then select "Batch" then select "backup all user apps +system data", then once completed, you can then go back to "backup /restore" and find Baidu input and select it, and then "uninstall"
Congrats you have now deleted the Baidu input,
I would recommend NOT uninstalling anything that you don't know if it is crucial or not, as if you delete the wrong thing you can get major "Force close" issues and make the phone 100% unusable until a ROM has been released to re-write the partition and start again...
With the Camera, I will post a heap of photos up when I get mine working again, I have taken lots of photos of pulling it apart and upgrading storage etc. I am in the progress of putting all the info from this post into a full guide with photos of step by step how to do everything that I know of, as I can't find anything from anyone else posted on the net regarding most of the things i have covered, I might just step up to the plate and do it
With Youtube, I installed the tubemate app from market, worked fine for me.., try it an let me know
Hope this helps!!!
Also, for those who didn't know, when you have the slide to unlock screen, if you double click home you will get a camera icon pop up (on an Iphone / ipod this is to access the music menu) that way you can get quick access to the camera to take a photo
hey keg why are you telling him to uninstall baidu input, on its last setting it is a perfect iphone input keyboard completely in english, the one on the app market is not good looking or accurate.
also, on youtube this guy, mayiandjay, has good videos on some of the stuff your trying to explain so maybe skip this to save time.
lastly i hope you get your phone back to working, as i have the phone working and sort know what im doin, feel free to ask for anything from it.
spookie, ill get some daylight pics up in the morning, at night the camera looks more grainy but is still good.
Hi deepakpitrola333,
Sorry I never really gave the Baidu input a real go, I found it slow unresponsive, and sometimes would revert back to converting whatever I was trying to write into Chinese, so it got the ass, I did get swype working on it, but I'm used to my Galaxy S and didn't find it that good on this device.
I suppose my guide to deleting the Baidu input was reversable if you did it step by step, you can go into titanium backup, go to backup / resore, and go right to the bottom, select baidu input that should have a line through it, and select restore.
BAM!!! Bauidu is back, though you will have to enable it again through the keyboard s option in settings, then press and hold a text box and select it again....
Sorry for the confusion.
yea it took me a while to set it to how i like, iphone style full english with predictive, wild guesses from the options list when holding down the circle key.
it is faster than the 4-5 keyboards ive used and looks the best in caps with no numbers to ruin the look.
it wont help you keg because yours is unfortunately bricked but spookie, on baidu after getting the keyboard up (press home a few times), hold the circle (world?) key, then select last, (keyboard will close) then hold bottom left key after getting it back up then first option, then second to last for predictive or last for non predictive.
Got the Goo Going again!!!
WOOOO!!! I'm soo happy
here's how I did it, (and I will add this to the first post)
When my device was bootlooping (the gooapple animation was playing over and over) I connected it to my computer, noticed that once again I got the unknown devices (4x qualcomm HSUSB interface) pop upagain and after giving up trying to find the Qualcomm HSUSB Driver prviously I decided to go on the hunt as this was close to my last resort before giving up for the day, well guess what!! I found it!!
I downloaded a file called PdaNetA302.exe and it installed the correct drivers for me!!! from there I could finally see the device in the Android Debug Bridge (especially whilst it was was booting!!) from there I could push the framework-res.apk into the /system/framework/ dir on the goo!!! WOO HOO!!
I'l play with it for a while and start ripping everything off it tonight, see what I can do about making a backup of some sort.... or if anything a listing of all dirs and files in each partition.
Thanks everyone who is reading this for your support during these "goo-less" times

Hello everyone,
This method I'm going to write is tried on my own Lenovo A7600-H Kitkat 4.4.2 tablet, which I did not flash because I'm not sure about stock roms available on the net. If I had found a reliable rom I wouldn't be able learn this
To remove this virus you need to install busybox, Terminal emulator, Root explorer pro and you must have Supersu not superuser which is installed by Kingoroot. If you have rooted your device with kingoroot, so you need to change that.
Here is how to change that:
Google this: how to get ride and replace kinguser with supersu app (Follow first zidroid link)
I'm not able to submit links so im going to write the exact apps with developer names to download from Playstore.
Busybox Installer by JRummy Apps Inc.
Terminal Emulator by Jack Palevich
Root Explorer Pro by Speed Software
Once you have installed everything here is what to do in steps:
[Note: USB DEBUGGING MUST BE ENABLED Turn on Usb Debugging by going to settings> developer options> Usb debugging]
1) Turn off wifi/3G/4G, and then go to settings> apps> all> disable time service and monkey test. (If already frozen via titanium backup or other app) skip this.
2) Open Root explorer go to system/xbin and see if there is any file starting with a dot (eg: .ext.base) also note that every (.) file has diff permission then the rest of other files. So just remember those files with dots because those are the one that you're going to remove in terminal emulator.
3) Go back to system and then go to Priv-app folder and look for these two files
[1] cameraupdate.apk [2] providerCertificate.apk and also notice permission of these two files are different then the rest of Apks so these two are the base of MT TS virus and needs to be deleted.
4) Open Terminal Emulator OR if you have access to your device via adb from a computer.
5) WHAT TO TYPE IN TERMINAL EMULATOR or ADB (CMD Windows)
adb devices (Type this line if you're using adb Windows)
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
cd system/priv-app
chattr -iaA providerCertificate.apk
rm providerCertificate.apk
chattr -aA cameraupdate.apk
rm cameraupdate.apk
cd ..
cd system/xbin
chattr -iaA .b
rm .b
chattr -iaA .ext.base
rm .ext.base
chattr -iaA .sys.apk
rm .sys.apk
[NOTE: If you are using older version than KK you need not to type priv-app just type cd system/app]
6) Please make sure you type the file name correctly just as providerCertificate C is capital otherwise permission wont change.
7) Exit Emulator/ADB
8) Go to settings> apps> all> send me the screenshot if you have Monkey test or Time Service there
9) I'm 100% sure if you've followed everything as I mentioned you are good as new and you don't need to flash.
10) I'm not a developer and That's it!

If you don't have a priv-app folder than you are not on Kitkat and you have to delete files from system/app folder.
Well anyway you have to delete cameraupdate.apk and providerCertificate.apk
and you are deleting SettingProvider.apk which I never said you have to.
Please look closely

Btw you are unable to remove providersettings.apk because you might be typing wrong attributes for it.
To see its attribute cd system/app [enter]
then type lsattr to look for attributes of providersettings.apk
and then use those attributes with - and rm that file.
And If you want to flash your phone/tablet go with your brand official rom.

Forgive me, but your statement quoted above is the only one that makes sense here. You were booted from Security Discussion thread and you move here.
You confuse people, give nonsensical advice and don't seem to know what you are talking about. First of all the chattr command is not supposed to work on Android ext4, so, no wonder people can't remove files this way. And anyway, your prolong instructions are not worth the "paper" they are written on. Even if someone would succeed following them, there is no guarantee they remove the virus. The proper way is to completely reformat your phone including internal SD and external SD, which you do in recovery by formatting System, Cache, Dalvik cache, Data and both sd cards. Period. And for the future, don't install any third party apps unless you compile them from source by yourself or someone you trust.

To do this open busybox app in your device, select busybox ver1.2, select intall location /system/xbin/ and tap install.
Then try the procedure

Get a custom rom. If there is no custom rom, then do a factory reset and then format external and internal sd cards.

Hello,
I am looking to watch my PS Vue subscription on my rooted Galaxy S7. I've tried to use RootCloak to no avail. Added com.snei.vue.android to the application list to cloak but PS Vue comes back with "Not available for your device" after launching. Obviously it's still seeing the device is rooted.
Any thoughts on getting this to work? The Amazon Fire TV forum says to rename xbin/su and superuser.apk but adb is giving me a "device or resource busy" when running the first mv command.
For reference, here is what Fire TV users are doing to get theirs working on rooted FTV's:
Code:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /system /system
chmod 761 /system/xbin/su
mv /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/xsu
mv /system/app/Superuser.apk /system/app/XSuperuser.apk
Thank you for your help in advance.

Fix for Playstation Vue Mobile on Galaxy Note 10
I came across this page in my search and thought I'd come back to share the fix I found using RootCloak. I can't share links yet, but you can find the video on Youtube by searching "How to Hide Root on Android with RootCloak" by AppReviewBros.
1. Install Xposed-Modules from the Play Store
2. Open it and select "Download"
3. Enter: RootCloak
4. Swipe the RootCloak page to the left and select the latest download.
5. Once it finishes, click "Install"
6. Activate the module (you should see that your device has a new notification; just open it and check the box)
7. Go back to the home screen and reboot the device
8. After it restarts, open RootCloak
9. Select "Add/Remove Apps"
10. Press the "+" in the upper right corner
11. Find and select "PS Vue Mobile"
12. Go to your device's Settings>Application Manager>PS Vue Mobile>Force Stop
13. Run the Vue app again, and it should work!

Great mate
Yes latest RootCloak is working for me too. Just signed up for this thing, and would have been a dealbreaker if this didn't work.
What I'm hoping to find out is, if I could set up some kind of proxy here to make the app think i'm ALWAYS home...

As far as i know, you would have to setup a vpn service on your home router and then tunnel to it whenever you were not at home. Then all traffic would look like it was coming from your home router. Of course your download speed while tunneling would be limited to your maximum upload speed for your service connected to the router providing the vpn. I have successfully tried this with my own hardware and it works. Just be aware of the download/upload caveat i mentioned.

I do have 24Mb upstream, but between the remote streaming they do allow and also getting access to the various networks' apps (Fox Sports GO etc), I'm not sure it's worth bothering. I also still have my trusty Plex server as well.

Hello,
I am looking to watch my PS Vue subscription on my rooted Galaxy S7.

Well I found a quick fix for that everyone is over analyzing it if you have SuperSU watch my video
https: // youtu.be/4uG8YcNMNhI
It appears I can't post links yet so you'll half to just backspace the empty spaces
I got it working by flashing Magisk instead of SuperSU in twrp. Then just download the Magisk Manager in the play store then select PSVue under magisk hide in the app.
In this post, I will try to explain the devices I purchased, the mods I needed to do, and how they can be useful.
I wanted a touch panel on my wall to control my home automation system (Home Assistant). While most people just wall mount an old tablet, I did not like that idea due to a tablet being a battery powered device and not designed to be plugged into a wall charger 24/7.
So I started looking for alternatives, from China of course. In mid-2020 I purchased a couple of 'Android In-wall Amplifiers' from AliExpress. These devices mains voltage powered (110V-250V AC). They are designed to be mounted 'in-wall' and control multiple audio zones throughout rooms in your house. They also happen to have RS485 (which I am yet to explore).
I ordered 2 variants to test. Here are the specs:
'Rockchip 86F' - AliExpress Link
4-inch IPS Display, 480*480 Resolution
Android 7.1 System, 4 Core Processor, Cortex 1.2G CPU
RAM: 1GB
Storage: 8GB
Network: Support Wi-Fi
Bluetooth: Support
Power Supply Mode: AC 110-250VC
Output Power: 2*20W or 4*15W (simulation power amplifier)
Output Impedance: 4-8Ω
Audio Inputs; Output
'Rockchip A7' - AliExpress Link
7-inch IPS Display, 1024*600 Resolution
Android 8.1 System, 4 Core Processor, Cortex 1.5G CPU
RAM: 2GB
Storage: 16GB
USB 2.0 port, can read 32GB
Network: Support Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHz
Bluetooth: Support BT 5.0
Power Supply Mode: AC 110-250VC
Output Power 8*20W (Yamaha digital amplifier)
Output Impedance: 4-8Ω
The Goal
My goal was to install Home Assistant companion app on these devices, and mount them in my walls to help control/monitor my smart home. The 'proper' way to go about this would be to install the Home Assistant companion app from the Play Store. While the 7-inch version was marketed as having the Play Store, the 4-inch was not.
The Problems
As it turned out, the Play Store app on the 7-inch version did not function. It simply crashed on launch, over and over again. The 4-inch version simply does not come with the Play Store at all. So I decided to sideload the Home Assistant companion app and try things that way. At the heart of it, the Home Assistant companion app simply shows a WebView. I was met with 2 main problems.
Non-functioning (or missing) Play Store
Missing SSL CA-Bundle certs (meaning I was getting SSL errors)
An outdated Android WebView (meaning I was getting rendering errors and glitches)
Please see the following posts (coming soon) for my journey into these devices, and how I solved the problems.
Let's start with the 7-inch version.
First, I tried to tackle the broken Play Store. Generally speaking, people will suggest downloading OpenGApps and using TWRP to flash them. Unfortunately because this device is some random no-name device from China, it would be nearly impossible to find a working TWRP recovery for it. So flashing OpenGApps via a custom recovery is out of the question. Thankfully, there are other ways.
Installing the Play Store
First we need to enable 'USB Debugging' which can be found in 'Developer options' part of the Settings app within Android.
Open 'Settings' app, scroll down and select 'System' and then 'About tablet'
Once there, look for 'Build Number' and quickly tape on it 10 times or so until you see 'You are now a developer'
Back out of that menu and you should now see a new 'Developer options' section.
Inside 'Developer options' there is a setting labelled 'USB debugging'. Enable it.
Connect your tablet to your PC using a micro-USB cable.
Now we need to use ADB to install a few APKs to the device. If you don't have ADB installed on your computer, now is a good time to do it. Search this forum for information on how to do so.
The following APKs are needed, and should be installed in this order:
com.google.android.gsf.login
com.google.android.gsf
com.google.android.gms
com.android.vending
Obtain those APKs from your favourite APK repository and install them using '
Code:
adb install <filename>
'. Once all 4 are installed, the Play Store should be working. If not, reboot for good measure. I will attach a list of the specific versions of the APKs I installed.
Now you can install the Home Assistant companion app (or another browser of your choice, such as Fully Kiosk) and away you go, right? Well, sort of.
Since this tablet comes with an old/outdated version of Android WebView you are likely to get rendering/display issues in both the HA app, and Fully Kiosk app. Both of these use the configured 'Android WebView' option found in 'Developer options'. Unfortunately, in this ROM, that value has been hardcoded to use 'com.android.webview' package, which is a system app and not updatable from the Play Store. The Play Store 'Android WebView' is actually 'com.google.android.webview' and is not in the list of allowed 'Android WebView' options for this device. So I had two options. Firstly, ask the device manufacturer to make an updated ROM that allows other WebView implementations, or, try and modify if myself.
Updating (Installing alternative) Android WebView
The first method I tried was to install a newer 'com.android.webview' into /system/ which ended in failure... The tablet didn't appreciate this, and got stuck on next boot. Do not try this.
The second method I tried was to modify /system/framework/framework-res.apk to include alternative WebView implementations. This also failed. Do not try this.
The third method I tried was installing Xposed Framework, so that I can modify the WebView options that way. This method usually requires a custom recovery such as TWRP, which we do not have. Here is what we have to do instead:
Download the xposed-v90-sdk27-arm.tar from here
Download the XposedInstaller_3.1.5.apk attached to this post.
Use adb on your PC to copy it to the device
Code:
adb push xposed-v90-sdk27-arm.tar /sdcard/Download/
Use adb on your PC to install the XposedInstaller apk
Code:
adb install XposedInstaller_3.1.5.apk
Open an adb shell
Code:
adb shell
and switch to root by typing
Code:
su
Remount the /system filesystem (may not be needed as the install script may do this)
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
Extract the xposed-v90-sdk27-arm.tar file
Code:
tar -xvf xposed-v90-sdk27-arm.tar
Change into the directory that was just created
Code:
cd xposed-v90-sdk27-arm
Make the installer script executable
Code:
chmod a+x flash-script.sh
and run it
Code:
./flash-script.sh
Xposed Framework is now installed, but not activated. Reboot your device. Please note, it will take longer to boot than usual on the first boot.
Once your device has rebooted, open the Xposed Installed app and make sure it is activated. If it's orange and says its not activated, another reboot should sort it.
Once you have confirmed it is activated, we need to install a module called 'Any WebView'. Click on the Hamburger Menu, tap 'Download' and use the search to look for an install 'Any WebView'. Reboot your device.
Now, we need to install an updated Android WebView. You can install any compatible webview such as 'Google Chrome' or 'Android WebView' from the Play Store.
Go back into Settings->Developer options, select 'WebView Implementation' and choose your newly installed WebView. Do not use 'Android System WebView 61.0.x' as it is outdated.
Congratulations! You can now install the HA app, Fully Kiosk app, or anything else you need from the Play Store.
Here are some images of my 7 inch device displayed the Home Assistant Lovelace UI in Fully Kiosk Browser.
On to the 4-inch version
This unit had similar problems (no Play Store and outdated WebView implementation) but it was a bit more of a mess to deal with.
Installing the Play Store
Unlike the 7-inch version, you cannot simply install the APKs and expect it to work. Google Play Services will repeatedly crash and logical shows this is due to a missing MANAGE_USERS permission.
Like the 7-inch version, there is no custom recovery available for this unit, so flashing something like OpenGApps in the normal fashion is not possible either. Unpacking the OpenGApps zip and attempting to run the installer script within is also a dead-end as it requires the 'ash' shell that is not available on the device. But never fear, I got things to work.. here is how:
First we need to enable 'USB Debugging' which can be found in 'Developer options' part of the Settings app within Android.
Open 'Settings' app, by swiping down from the top of the screen and long-pressing the Wi-Fi icon.
This will load the settings app on the Wi-Fi page
Press the 'hamburger menu' and scroll down and select 'About device'
Once there, look for 'Build Number' and quickly tape on it 10 times or so until you see 'You are now a developer'
Click on the 'hamburger menu' again and you should now see a new 'Developer options' section.
Inside 'Developer options' there is a setting labelled 'USB debugging'. Enable it.
Connect your tablet to your PC using a micro-USB cable.
This is where things get a bit different. I had to unpack the OpenGApps zip file, unpack the lzip archives inside that, and figure out where all the files are meant to go so we can manually graft them into the /system/ folder on the device. You can download the ready-to-go folder here.
If you're the kind of person who wants to do it themselves, I have attached a directory tree structure to this post that shows where the files need to be.
As with the 7" version, we are going to use ADB to get these files onto the unit.
Copy the files onto the device
Code:
adb push opengapps-4inch.tar /sdcard/Download/
Open an adb shell
Code:
adb shell
and switch to root by typing
Code:
su
Remount the /system filesystem
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
Unpack the opengapps-4inch.tar file
Code:
cd /
tar -xvf /sdcard/Download/opengapps-4inch.tar
That should be it. Reboot and check that the Play Store is now available on your device.
Updating (Installing alternative) Android WebView
Just like the 7-inch version above, we do basically the same thing, but we have to use a different version of the Xposed Framework suitable for Android 7.1.2
Download the xposed-v89-sdk25-arm.tar from here
Download the XposedInstaller_3.1.5.apk attached to the first post. We can use the same version of this app.
Use adb on your PC to copy it to the device
Code:
adb push xposed-v89-sdk25-arm.tar /sdcard/Download/
Use adb on your PC to install the XposedInstaller apk
Code:
adb install XposedInstaller_3.1.5.apk
Open an adb shell
Code:
adb shell
and switch to root by typing
Code:
su
Remount the /system filesystem (needed if you rebooted after installing Play Store)
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
Extract the xposed-v89-sdk25-arm.tar file
Code:
tar -xvf xposed-v89-sdk25-arm.tar
Change into the directory that was just created
Code:
cd xposed-v89-sdk25-arm
Make the installer script executable
Code:
chmod a+x flash-script.sh
and run it
Code:
./flash-script.sh

Nice DIY project!
Google Assistant (including "Hey Google" activation) on the 4-inch device
So I managed to get Google Assistant installed and working on the 4-inch version (The 7-inch does not have a microphone built in).
You need both the "Google" app and the "Google Assistant" app, and both are available in the Play Store, but "Hey Google" voice activation will not work unless the "Google" app is installed as a system app.
Getting "Google" app installed as a system app
1) Download and install "Google" from the Play Store as you would any other app.
2) Use adb to connect to the device
Code:
adb shell
3) Switch to root user
Code:
su
4) Remount the system partition as read/write
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
5) Navigate to the user apps directory
Code:
cd /data/app/
6) Copy the "Google" app into system apps folder
Code:
cp -R com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1 /system/priv-app/
7) At this point, you should be able to delete the 'user app' copy and reboot.
Code:
rm -rf /data/app/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1
reboot
8) Once the device has restarted, go to the Play Store and install "Google Assistant".
You should now be able to configure your Google Assistant to respond to "Hey Google" and "Ok Google" voice activations.
