I have had a Z3V for a year Verizon will offer you no support... were running a leaked firmware...stagefright patched version of 5.0.2. the Z2 has 5.1.1 and the bootloader is unlockable you will not be running any custom roms on the Z3V-for now at least. But my phone does work great now with the 509 firmware..

I think Xperia SP, Z, ZR, ZL, Z Ultra, Z1 and Tablet Z will get 4.3.
I hear rumous say Xperia Z1 become 1st non-Nexus Smartphone to get Android 4.4, KitKat. Thats true?
Sony Argentina confirms that XL will be updated to JB 4.3 officially.

They do, they don't, they change their mind. Until it comes out, what some customer service rep on a phone says, or someone monitoring a facebook page says, it does not speak for Sony as a whole, so I don't believe any of them until it comes out.

[Q] M2 vs M2 aqua

Hi all,
I'm buying an M2 aqua. I've been in forum looking for rom and more stuff. But i'm confused. m2 and m2 aqua are almost the same phones. but rom's are only for m2. will be a problem to install m2 rom's on m2 aqua? like aosp build by myself from binaries or the freeXperia project? Could anyone explain differences and so one?
If anyone could help me... Sorry for bad english
Thank you all in advance.
Another thing... I will buy from vodafone and locked to them, bootloader unlock is possible right?
If you buy with it locked to Vodafone the bootloader will probably be locked permanently meaning you won't be able to unlock it ever. If you wanna buy a phone with bootloader unlock allowed yes buy network unlocked sim free phones is the network that locks them down not Sony
D2303 stock 4.4.4 KK rooted philz touch recovery xposed Bravia engine 2 x-reality
I'm from Vodafone Spain and my M2 aqua cames Unlocked Bootloader: Yes
mine from Vodafone Germany and its allowed to unlock bootloader, but u have to check before you buy anyway.

Lollipop Update

Xperia M2 Dual Has Got Lollipop 5.1
So Is there any possibility to get lollipop update on xperia E3 Dual???
No, you must wait to official relise for e3
There is one leak who show that sony skip update to LP e3 and update it to 6.0 marshmallow.
Hope for the best

anyway... I think the Android 6.0 Marshmallow can be true :highfive:
I think we will need to build Android 5.1 since we have only 4GB of internal memory. Xperia M2 got LP 5.1 version and android system takes 3GB. LP is not that huge, but after Sony put all their stuffs it is. Thats the only reason why I am worried about update. Of course on some sites you can find that we will get marshmallow since we got developer preview. Xperia M2 also got developer preview for 6.0 and M2 users now have 5.1.
I have an idea how to fix camera and mobile data on 5.1, but I am not sure will it work and how long it will be until we get nice custom ROM.
According to jerpelea Sony is still working on this phone. So we can only wait for official or we can start making ROM and I am 100% sure that they will help us.

But they are not working on non lte variants
I am sure if you start learing now how to port it shouldnt be problem to port fully working ROM on other variants.

How To Port??? Tell Me. I will try to port cm12.1 to my non lte variant. Is there any step by step method available???
Sorry to give you the bad news guys, but here it goes: http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2015/10/06/sony-xperia-and-android-6-0-marshmallow/
My dad has an E3 so I guess he will remain on 4.4.4
Actually it's not that bad, since 5.0 made everything worse for Samsung and LG
Guys, the wait is useless now. See Sony official decision about no further updates on Xperia E3

E3 died.

Nope and it's looking like there probably never will be a stable fully working mm rom whether it be asop or cm,omni ect, looking at the amount of action in here and everywhere else for the m2 just lately I'm glad I'm moving on to a new device. kinda sad really seeing how popular the m2 is/was
Which custom recovery did you install for xperia M2 dual? BTW I am on 5.1.1

I'm using NUTS xzdr t2u recovery for locked Bootloader on my M2 since 5.1 was released last year works superbly with no modifications there's also multi-recovery 0.9 specially for the m2 but I much prefer nuts
Can u give me the link to guide for flashing recovery?BTW I had unlocked the boot loader.

Can I still upgrade the Android version if I buy a new Xperia M2 now?

I saw that Xperia M2's Android version is Jelly Bean, but can be upgraded to Lollipop.
I want to buy a new Xperia M2 (don't ask me why), but I fear that since Xperia M2 is an old model, I still can't upgrade it to Lollipop (officially) anymore.
So, can I still upgrade the Android version of Xperia M2 if I buy a new one nowadays?
Thank you!

hey. i am a phone collector and i have a xperia m2. it comes with android 4.3 but can be upgraded to 5.1. important stuff: you have to flash the phone to upgrade it, since the servers are dead and i would not recomend using the phone on 5.1 since it uses up most of the phones space. my xperia m2 runs android 4.4 via cyanogenmod 11 smoothly, maybe even smoother than my main device. you can get the phone to work good via a android 5 rom but i would not recomend buying this phone as your main device.
