Hello all!
I recently received my OnePlus One and have had it for about 5 days now. I love the phone, but I seem to be having a problem with my battery. I've only been able to squeeze about 3 hours from this phone. Coming from a Note 2 (which also has a 3100 mah battery) I was expecting to get about 6-7 hours of screen on time. Could I have a defective battery? My screen is only at about 25%-30% brightness most of the time.
I attached a screenshot of my battery life. Thanks!

Can you post the complete battery graph, maybe wakelocks draining the battery... If not then seems like I also have the same problem. Not doing anything but it drained 11% of my battery.

I've charged my phone since this so I don't have the graph anymore. However, I notice that by battery drains 1-2% per hour on standby.
Your screenshot shows absolutely nothing. Your battery is not defective. You obviously have wakelocks that are preventing your phone from deep sleeping.
You need to show:
- Wakelocks (Partial Wakelocks, CPU, etc)
- Overall battery stats
I wouldn't be surprised if its Google Play Services.

I've attached more screenshots. Sorry, I'm new. What is a wake lock?

Well those screenshots don't really help now since you charged your phone. When you charge your phone your previous battery stats are dumped and new stats start to appear since you've unplugged.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-basics-101-understanding-wakelocks-xda-developer-tv/
In simplest terms, its a app on your phone that is preventing your phone from entering a deep sleep mode. So even though your screen is off, a app on your phone is keeping your phone awake as if the screen is on not allowing the phone to enter a deep sleep mode (very conservative on battery).
Can you download GSAM Battery Monitor and look at the info that gives you? And which ROM are you on?
Check if your "Ok Google" turned on, i had mine turned on and it was draining my battery as it was not letting my phone to sleep.
Google Search -> Menu -> Google Hotword detection
And yes Double Tap to Wake might also be another one .

I have used BBS and GSAM before, but I think GSAM is better. However, in the latest update some of the menu options have changed names.
Could you explain what each one is for? I can see Kernel Wakelocks, which one is 'Partial Wakelocks' now? Should I be looking at any of the other tabs?

In Gsam, click the vacuum icon on the bottom left of the screen. This will tell you which apps are using the most battery. You can then click on an app from there and see what exactly it's doing. When your battery gets low, see what comes up as draining a lot of your battery and post back.
As to partial wakelocks, idk. Let's just see what is draining your battery.
I prefer Wakelock Detector. Gsam is not too bad though. I just prefer the simplicity of wakelock detector

OK so I have let my phone run without charging all day and here are the stats. I could only get 3 hrs. of screen time...pretty crappy. Anyway, my brightness has been at about 60% and GPS in battery saving mode. Please help, as I love this phone, but would hate to get rid of it because of battery issues.

I get almost close to 6 hours of screen ontime , but yes most of the stuff like GPS / NFS is turned off when im not using it ..
Like i mentioned did you try to turn off the " OK google " stuff , i had experience of it waking up device quite often and draining my battery, try turning them off ...
Other place to look out for what is walking up your device most of the time and deny them the access to wake up your phone , to hunt those apps , check
settings -> privacy -> privacy guard -> menu -> advanced -> device tab .
I found my facebook app / google play services was constantly waking up my device when on sleep , i denied "keep awake" to boost some more battery life ...

Check on what's keeping your GPS on all the time. My GPS is left on, but when I'm looking at my battery stats for the past 24 hours and it's maybe 3 or 4 slivers where the GPS actually turned on for a moment when I used an app to find my location.
I updated from b521 to b820 but the battery drains very fast and it battery monitoring show me the screen usage is 98%.. what should I do to fix this?? the battery got from 100% to 88% in 15 minutes!!!
Make hard/factory reset.

this is mine.. strange!! hardware 100% software 0% !!!!
same issue on my honor.. updated from b521
I was also having huge battery drain, screen (hardware) was using over 90% battery while I even wasn't using the phone. Phone was really fast, but this version is clearly unfinished. Also many options was removed from the settings menu (some moved to submenus, very hard to find = not user friendly)--> I cannot imagine what Huawei was thinking with this update..
Now I'm back with (B521) Lollipop 5.1.1, and I'm getting 2 days battery again and everything is running fine and smooth! :good:
Same issue for me!
Hi,
some weeks ago my s8+ (g955f) battery started to drain.
when i checked the issue i saw that the process "Android OS" is on the top of the battery usage list.
it looks like the phone "Stay awake" a lot of hours and it causes the battery drain.
i downloaded Wakelock detector (with usb debugging) and that's what i saw (images attached).
i can't find something unusual in the wakelock list.
somone have any idea?
(the phone is updated to the last version - G955FXXU1AQF7)
Thanks
You lost 11% in 4 and a half hours. That's quite good... How must SoT was included in that time.
If this is the rate, you'll get 2 days of use out of your battery. I can't see a problem here.
what is SoT?
three weeks before the battery life was even better.
the android process takes a lot of battery.
battery status after some hours attached.
you can see that the Samsung DQA and Chrome are on the top.
i don't understand what they are doing when the phone is in a sleep.
Thanks
You can check which app's are draining battery in Device Maintenance -> Battery and put them to sleep

Thanks
WLD says it's Whatsapp?
May be poor mobile network can be one of the issue of battery draining which comes in android os section.

It can cause the android os to "stay awake"?
if so, maybe that's the problem.

May be not sure.. but at time of poor network it keeps on searching the network continuously and drains the battery.
Hi everyone, i'm having this problem, where i just can't seem to get over 5 hours on screen time. It doesnt matter if im playing full blast games or just checking social networks from time to time, i just can't get it over 5 hours. The battery menu in settings just says that 30-40% battery is used by "mobile network standby" GSam however says that screen is 37%, phone radio 23% and apps 39%. In the apps menu it says that the biggest usage is from Kernel (android os) and android system. The phone is about a month or two old. My friend has a Huawei mate 10 pro, which has just 70 mah more than the u11 plus, but it seems like he is getting so much better battery life. Should my battery really be like this?

I have the same issue, after a hard reset always "mobile network standby" drain a lot my battery, I can't find any solution... Let me know if you resolve!
I noticed battery drain two times after round about 6 weeks. My solution in this case is to wipe cache from recovery, after that the drain was gone everytime. Tried a few other things too, nothing helps as good as the wipe....

Try to download gservicefix app in the play store and follow the instructions.
Also Force stop HTC Function Test under Settings - Apps & Notification - App Info - Show System.
It should help for few days. If the battery drain happened again, do the same thing again. I think it's a firmware bug until HTC updates the software.

Alright, thanks. Did both of these, except the HTC function test, because i don't have it. Will report back in a day or two.
Nothing really changed except for battery drain over night. Had like 14% loss over night, now its down to 4%, still cant get over 5h SOT.

The gservicefix is meant to fix battery standby drain. For SOT, it really depends on your use case. Mate 10 pro SOT is definitely better because it uses OLED display which is more battery friendly and only 1080 resolution (compared to 2k display on U11+). Still, you should get more than 5hrs SOT for moderate use. Try greenify and see if it helps.

Hi Nobody know ???
Why do you think that something is wrong here ??
You have 2 days of usage, with more than 5h SOT ...
Facebook apps are eating alot of battery too.

Thank you for your reply, I have the impression that the battery drains quickly, after charging it 100%. the percentage digits go down empty, is this normal?
(edit)
Even if you do not use the phone, its system is still running.
Many applications still run in the background if you haven't turned them off ...(settings - battery - app launch)
