Trying to have only WidgetLocker as a lockscreen. Deleted the Sense lockscreen but can't seem to disable the Android one. Coming from AOSP it had an option to disable that didn't wake the phone with any hardware button press as I use volume rocker to change songs while biking. Here's what I've tried:
- WidgetLocker disable lockscreen wakes phone up with any hardware button press
- Security - lockscreen - none doesn't disable the lockscreen when opening notifications, at least. Haven't tried when phone's been off for a minute.
- NoLock seems to be the same as WidgetLocker option
- Can't find .apk for Android lockscreen in Titanium. Is it an actual system app or in the framework?
I'm fresh out of ideas. Small annoyance but would like to get rid of the extra swipe to open my homescreen.
Sent from the bushes outside your house. Creepy points at max level.
Lollipop seems to have eliminated lock screen widgets.
My main lock screen widget was controls for a music player (I'm using Shuttle), so that I don't have to unlock the phone to start and stop music.
How can I do this in Lollipop?
If shuttle (sorry, never used it) has interactive notifications, it'll show on the lock screen when playing music .

Hit and miss depending on app I think. Play and Spotify do. But if pattern lock and sensitive data option selected, play does and Spotify is censored.
Interactive notifications will let me stop music that's playing. It won't let me start the music from the lockscreen, something I could do with Kit Kat.

Play also shows on the lock screen when it's active, but I can't start it from the lock screen if it's inactive.
How do I use music controls with Play on Lollipop? I can't seem to figure it out...

Yeah, Lockscreen widgets are no more. When do you usually listen to music? when you insert headphones? Connect to a bluetooth receiver? You can use the app Trigger and set up certain triggers that will start music. I use it in my car. When it connects to my Bluetooth receiver, it will automatically open the music app and start playing music. I don't touch my phone and my phone doesn't even turn on. You can have it activate using other triggers though.

Play a song and the notification will appear in your notification bar and on the lockscreen. Depending on the app you use I guess. I use Google Music

Plugging in a headphone is not as convenient as just touching the screen, and it costs, but that is a creative solution to something that wasn't previously a problem

Well that was just an example. What you need is an app that puts a persistent music control notification in your status bar which will show on your lock screen. That's the only way you are going to get a widget like feature on the lock screen. I don't know of one though. Try searching the Play Store

Excuse the noobnes lol but can you like rewind and such from the lock screen? All i see is the ability to skip forward. Holding the app does nothing in the notification. Pulling it down gives me the option of going forward but no rewind or fast forward. Is this possible like onKK?
I use Play Music latest update as well.

I don't think they made the notification that advanced. It's just a simple Pause/Play and Skip notification.

Well I don't really see the problem with tapping on the notification which will open straight to the song that is playing and you can do all that there. It's not that much to do.

Double tap the lockscreen notification, enter pin (or otherwise unlock), then it opens to the song.
It is possible to get google music lockscreen widget with settings
Hi All,
For those who miss google music widget on lockscreen, here's how to get it back :
- Go to Settings
- Go to Sound and Notifications
- Go to App notifications
- Look for Google Music or any other music app you got : Select Priority in order to force widget to be shown
I suggest you try this tip with any broken lockscreen widget
Cheers

These are not widgets. They are ongoing notifications.
..and to expand on what you're saying, what you actually need to do is:
- go to sound and notifications
- set "when device locked" to "show all notification content" instead of "hide sensitive notification content"
- Go to app notifications
- Set any apps you want to be sensitive individually to sensitive
Priority only does 2 things
1) Sets the Notification in pull down at top when unlocked
2) Allows notifications to come through when in priority notification mode
Setting priority will not allow the notification on lock screen if it is set to sensitive.
That doesn't do what I wanted.
What I asked for in the OP was a way to start and stop music from the lockscreen. The entire priority notification process only shows the widget if music is already playing.
It does not show a widget or notification to start music when a music app is not playing.

I continue to find it annoying that Lollipop requires three actions - swipe, unlock (which usually requires multiple clicks), click play - while KK required one - click play.
i use stitcher and spotify alot, and withe very other android phone I can play/pause from the lockscreen, as theres a notification banner for it.
this phone doesn't have one. I have to unlock the phone, swipe down, and then get into the app from the notification shade.
Any way to access open apps from the lockscreen?
So far, you can't do nothing, EMUI is like that

I use Spotify on my Honor 8 and it shows me album art, along with play/pause/forward/back buttons on the lock screen for the currently playing song...
Not sure why you're not seeing the same. Are you using something other than the default "Magazine"-style lock screen that the phones uses by default?
You can use the software to unlock the way, but requires root privileges

When using stitcher for podcasts, i must unlock the phone first before I can swipe down and access podcast controls.
I got the oreo update two days ago and I'll be posting any eventual bugs and changes while using it. Thread will be regularly updated.
Changes:
Quick Settings Dropdown fully opens, showing all the quick settings. I believe this has been intentionally implemented since it happens when there are no notifications. With notifications there's one row and you can further pull down for the rest.
Adaptive icons: https://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/icon_design_adaptive.html
sRGB and advanced Bluetooth audio Codecs in the developer settings.
Picture in picture mode. It's enabled by default and works flawlessly with WhatsApp video call and Google Maps. Haven't tested any other apps. (Only Youtube Red works with this mode the normal YouTube app isn't able at the moment).
Settings rearranged. Looks cleaner and easier to navigate through.
Ui: they changed the colors and the homescreen icons grew bigger but no major changes in the design aspects.
New system navigation options offering now one button nav controls. (Not sure if that was there before)
Some apps/games where added and can be easily unistalled.
Fixes :
FINALLY no more Touchscreen delay and better responsiveness. Touch is even more precise now. Had huge issues with the swipe to del feature of SwiftKey (5 out 10 times it wouldn't work) and games like table tennis work flawlessly. Very happy about this!
FINALLY I can lower the loudspeaker volume to an acceptable level cause the lowest setting on nougat was extremely loud. (the maximum level of the in ear speaker was less loud of the lowest loudspeaker setting)
The battery management has been changed and it gives more options for controlling which apps should run in the background and now it offers auto launch management. Works as it should since on the nougat build, Spotify would always run in the background even when there's no music playing (had to always force stop the app).
Bugs :
Android system keeps showing a notification bar and icon each time an app is running in the background. Although it's not a bug, it's annoying as hell and can be disabled by going in to the app settings and disabling notifications for Android system.
Any working guides to customise the:
- Screen lock/ unlock sounds
- Wired charger connected/ disconnected sounds
- Notification bubble duration (to make them stay longer on screen than the default ~2-3 secs)
I've tried SetEdit app but sounds didn't change, & instead became mute for screen lock/ unlock & charger connection/ removal.
Also tried a System UI tuner app (by Zachary Wander) which didn't apply any UI mods either (but messed up my custom volume panel)
Pentastic (Good Lock module) does a good job @ customising the s-pen theme/ sounds.
(Attached are a few of my favourite sounds for the s-pen)
Don't have fully working versions of FireFDS or GravityBox for A13 yet.
I use macrodroid to set sounds for the events you mention, and some others, the native sounds should be disabled first, slso I use an app called "s pen keeper" because you can set any sound of your prefernce and can be extremely loud, so it will prevent the loss of the S pen, I know this is a workaroukd, but I do this since my Note 4, and it works fine, at least for me…
